Jeffrey Bruma joins Leicester City on loan

It's all looking very nice on paper, that's four promising centre-backs we've got to compete now.Five if you count Hobbs, but it's quite clear he won't be with us for the rest of the season now. Hopefully he'll find somewhere to give him what he needs, it's for the best for now.

From what I've seen, which is not a lot, Bruma looks like just the sort of quick, footballing defender I've looked forward to seeing in our defence.

His inclination is to pass the ball on the floor with pace which should help us break effectively. He also has enough skill to perhaps make some openings himself..

Exciting times indeed.

Can I ask what makes you consider that?

Bruma is right footed and most likely to play right center back, Bamba's position.

Bamba has been reported as being a very effective defensive / holding midfield player.

Our midfield is fragile and easily dominated, particularly away from the Walkers.

Abe looks likes he could do with a break, last 2 games he was quite poor.

Loving the Dutch revolution at Leicester.

Sven and Ancelotti are obviously good friends.

Excellent....

I know he is right footed as he can also play right back, wonder if he is comfortable in the left central position?...:dunno:

Or is he just cover for Bamba and Naughton?...:dunno:

Maybe Bamba is going to move into midfield?...:dunno:

God it's exciting being a City supporter, a little unsettling too, on ocassion...  :S

Both he and Bamba can play in the midfield if Sven wants. More flexibility in the squad. :appl:

From a Chelsea over on 606....

Just in case you don't know Leicester fans, Bruma is a ball playing CB who can take a free kick as well. He's a;ready played for the full Holland national team at 18 and was playing reserve football and captaining the FA Youth Cup side at an age where mostplayers would just be starting out in the academy. He's compsosed on the all and good in the slide tackle, can read the game well. His positioning can sometimes be questionable but he's barely 19, that will come with experience, and he might need a tall CB to 'protect him' as he's not the tallest or the strongest.

He played ok today. Nowhere near as bad as mee, king, yak etc

Indeed.

I thought Bruma was solid today, definitely one of our better players.

How is this lad at Chelsea albeit sent out on loan but how did he manage to blag a contract there?!

I thought he was fairly decent today? Compared with most of our players today anyway.

:dunno:

Right just to clarify he wasn't our worst player, that's not what I was saying but the point remains I still havn't got a scooby doo how Chelsea thought he was worth a contract with them, if he's their future then they will be going downhill. Maybe they just thought he was worth a gamble for the future if not offload him to a lower premiership/championship club.

Dropping Vitor for this guy is one of the most bizarre decisions I have seen in a long time. Can you imagine what the players must be thinking, knowing that's it's not a good performance that keeps you in the starting XI, but whats in your contract

And whoever selects the Dutch U21 team too? I'm sure some pretty important people see a lot of potential in him.

Ermm, what exactly are you talking about?

First off, he's 19. Secondly, he's a decent player.

What exactly is it that has spurred you to make this point?

Frustration. Not necessarily at Bruma, just at the team, Sven's tinkering, and just commenting on my opinion.

Was one of the worst performers today. Yet he is one of Svens favourites, so has to play.

Certainly is no better than Vitor, or Mee when he is at CB.

How he is at Chelsea I dont know.
