Definitely. This is just where we're lacking a bit of backup in midfield I think. It's one of our strongest assets in terms of first choice line up, but we could do with having a decent youngster on loan who can fill in when we get an injury or drop in form. All we have is Oakley whose legs have clearly gone.

We're walking a tightrope with loan signings as it is.

Anyone else notice there were SIX in tonight's squad? (Naughton, Mee, Van Aanholt, Bruma, Yakubu and Vitor). I thought league regulations said the maximum was five..

Hes not gonna say he was shit and knock his confidence now, is he?

why would it knock his confidence when he playing him out of position.

he wouldnt have to say it was bruma shit but just it didnt suit/work.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!

Love it... Forest usually save themselves by scoring late yet this time they've been done by Preston who have certainly improved recently.

Seriously though, this is 1 measly loss which in the grand scheme of things, is still only 1 game. Look at the teams around us... look how many points they're dropping... look at how many times 2nd place has changed hands.

If anyone thinks that this season is now over or a foregone conclusion, they are sadly mistaken!

COME ON CITY!!! :scarf:

I listened to the shit commentary on 5Live sports extra and it sounded like we were bereft of ideas, lacked width, and that some players were uncomfortable in new positions but Waghorn sounded like he gave a bit of impetus to proceedings.

Let's put this behind up and look forward to Sat and beating the Chavs. :scarf:

The playoffs are still within our grasp especially with Leeds, Forest and Norwich all drawing.

Bringing Jay Spearing back for a spell would be nice.

Yes then PNE.

Everything below QPR is still up for grabs, another winning run and the over-optimists will be back. Let's go again with Abe back in the side, and either Waggy or Vassell in for Dyer. Hopefully that's DV's rest and he'll come back with his form from a month or so ago, he's looked a bit off the pace recently.

Is it just me that can see us getting Cardiff in the playoffs again?

I bloody hope not!

Was thinking that earlier. Rather play any of the others, including Forest.

Hate to say it but we've gotta beat Coventry and QPR...

**** QPR.. we should just ring em and agree to give em the 3 points and rest the players. Cov and Narch are the vital must-win games.

Vassell, PVA, Bruma, Abe, Yak all not good enough in past 2 games. Does Yak contribute anything outside of the oppositions final third?

Tonight was always going to be a right pig of a fixture, so it proved, the run couldn't go on forever and at least we havn't lost much ground thanks to Preston, Barnsley and Doncaster. Top 2 just about beyond us and hopefully it'll be the wake up the squad need as we havn't looked the same since the whistle blew for half time at Pride Park.

Huge game on Saturday now, not because there is any rivalry or local pride whatsoever but because I want to get out of this fvcking league. Must win.

It's a set-back certainly, but you can't win them all. We've had a good run - it was bound to come to an end eventually. Yes we've lost against a side who we should be looking to get ahead of near the end of the season, but there isn't a great deal of shame to lose to arguably the best side in the division.

Luckily results around us went fairly kindly, which given their respective opponents, makes for a reasonable night around us.

Cardiff were clinical on the night, we were fairly poor in front of goal and we probably got what we deserved in the end. Hugely disappointing but it's not the end of the world.

Didn't get the chance to listen to much of the commentary, but managed to hear last 15 minutes, and from Alan Young our performance sounded poor.

Our run was ALWAYS going to come to an end sooner or later- no way we would've gone the rest of the season unbeaten. The big match is Coventry- we need to make sure we don't slack in our home games. This has to be 3 points to keep the pressure on. The last thing we need is to lose our home form, and go on a bad spell of 4-5 games, as this will near enough end our playoff hopes.

We musn't get ahead of ourself, we're noway near securing a playoff place yet, never mind automatic. We need to cement a solid playoff place before we even think about automatic.

Yak still scored vs. Bristol City. 1 goal every 2 games is as much as you can realistically ask for any striker..

If we don't get something from the QPR game then we don't put pressure on those above. We need a psychological edge when coming from behind.

Definately a reality check. We are now realistically 4 points off 6th with the useless Goal Difference. We must beat Norwich.

We were four points off this time last week.

We've got 13 games to play, things will change yet.

One thing i noticed today, how much of a willy puller Peter Whittinham is, Twice he put in late challenges, and left a foot in a few times. ****ing hate the goofy ****

Not the end of the world. Other results could have gone a lot worse for us tonight so at least we haven't lost too much ground.

The Cov game is even more important now though. I think we can bounce back & win that one. It'll be tough if we don't because I can't see us winning at QPR & that would mean 3 games without a win if we don't beat Cov. That momentum we've been building up would be slipping away.

In terms of the bigger picture though, we're only 3 points off the play offs with 13 games left. Ok we've got some tough games left but no more so than most of the teams around us. Still think we can make it

It's all down to the yellow kit anyway. We've only won once wearing it and that was in the cup.

YELLOW OUT.

Nah, it's because Cardiff is in the South.

We only win in the North.
