I said it before we signed the bugger but I was crucified for saying so - the Yak is a lazy, most-of-the-time useless article. He starts ok, soon goes back to old habits. At the end of the day, it's hard to go on for 90 minutes when you are 38. Didn't see you posting after all the games he scored in. It's seriously pathetic anyone feels the need to say "I told you so" on here. Boring!!!
Swalker Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Im getting sick of him to, put Vassell in the middle and dyer on the wing. i couldn't give a S*** that "Chasing every lost cause down isn't part of his game" he's playing up front on his own, i know he is not use to it, but he dosnt run, jump, score properly, he has only scored 1 brilliant goal (derby). He has to work, not counting how many £10 he can fit in while doing a jog/walk down the pitch. People don't realize the work that Yakubu puts in for the team in holding up the ball, holding off players and his presence just disrupts defenses. He bangs them in when he gets the chance but thats his style of play, to play as a target man and link play not to chase the ball down like Vassel does. And Dyer is lazier than the Yak at chasing the ball down his speed is so recognizable because he doesn't run when it comes to getting the ball back. He has had to opportunities now in a starting place vs Cardiff and sub appearance today and both times he wasted them. He should grab hold of his chances like Waggy does, but today he had the ball where all he had to do was square it to waggy and it was a goal he hits it into a defender behind him and he had the cross in the last minutes- how he missed that I have no idea it was almost impossible to miss. At least if you drop the Yak play waggy.

I think he's good also but when he's having a poor 'un, Sven don't be afraid to bring him off. Today, we could have done with someone cutting down their back four last twenty minutes.

Its si much better than having a front 3 of yakubu vassell and gally.
