Haydos Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Nobody could tolerate Gally's 'lazyness' even when he's playing well. Nobody can tolerate Weale struggling from range when the rest of his game is fine. Nobody can tolerate King's lack of physicality even when he's our top scorer by a mile. I could go on. Half of you are 2-faced, deluded, hypocritical morons if you think his work rate is acceptable for a professional footballer pushing for promotion, just because he shows moments of class. I want him there but those of you saying "It's not in his game" are clueless sheep.
The Padster Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Scoring every now and then doesn't make up for the fact that he contributes very little else. He's a striker, the basics of that role are to score goals. He (currently) has a goal ratio of better than 1 in 2. It really does not take a genius to work out he's a great striker.
StanSP Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Scoring every now and then doesn't make up for the fact that he contributes very little else. Goals win you games. Running around and tackling, technically, doesn't. I'd much rather he score a goal every other game (which at his current as someone said would be 28 a season) than run around and tire himself out.
Charl91 Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 When he's getting goals, I don't have a problem with his work rate (strikers are for goals after all, not for running all over the pitch) but when he's not putting them away then it can be frustrating to watch and makes me wish he'd at least pretend he's putting in a bit more effort. Must say I'm slightly dissapointed with the Yaks form in the past few games; he's a quality player, but I would have thought a player of his calibre could have done better. Here's hoping to the Yak to prove me wrong and get 3 in his next game!

You don't have to be one or the other. He puts very little effort in unless the balls right in at his feet and he could offer so much more.

Agreed StanSP - although ive got to say he had a stinker today
ibbosuk Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 We were playing so well when we had Vassel down the middle. He's wasted on the wing. But, it's the Yak, he has quality and the ability to win games, just needs to show it more often! Thats just what the Everton fans have been saying for a long long time..... ...I can put up with the lazy s.o.a.b. .......But 50 Thou p.w. for the stuff he missed today ain't gonna cut it.....Then I look at Mr Flappy... . ........And the fvckin inconsistancy of the whole team......... WE AINT MAKIN THE PLAY OFFS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed hes a brill striker - but he had a stinker today, a quality striker would have scored at least 2 goals today - come on the Yak!!!
Donut Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 I think the general consesus is that if youre having a bad game and you have a playing style of a Yakubu, Berbatov etc youre going to stand out a lot more and look disinterested and lazy. The Yak deals in goals and his strike rate has been good since he joined us. I think he looked really leggy today though, more so than normal. But if he had took his first half chance, would that have set us on our way? Id have to say i think hes a quality player and signing IMO

dannythefox Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 He should of scored one possible two in the first 10 mins today he does need to work harder but i do think he needs someone up there with him what does waggy need to do to get a start? noone can say that vassells deserves a place over him i think waggy should be up there along side the yak in a 4-4-2 carnt work out any shiter than they was today!
paddy Agyemang Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 Honestly what a load of shit this thread is..... get out more The Yak doesn't have to do much to score hence the reason he is dangerous, behave yourselfs 4 goals in 7 thats good Ricardo on the other hand, is SHIT
m00nie Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 He's not on Fifty ****ing Thousand a week. How many times does it need to be said? how much is he on??
Legend_in_blue Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 The way in which some fans on here come to their conclusions sometimes astounds me. Ricardo is absolute rubbish yet he hasn't made a mistake that has cost us dearly. Yakubu has missed more than one decent chance today and his overall all-round play was well off the mark and yet as "he's quality" he is immune to criticism. Brilliant.
Bugg Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 how much is he on?? Not as much as 50k p/w as Gallagher's Father-in-Law said on another thread.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 He missed many great chances today to give us the 3 points. And has also scored us some goals and set a couple up. Anyone remember the one he set up for King against Sheff Utd (I think). Without him we wouldn't have won that.
somebum Posted 26 February 2011 Posted 26 February 2011 hahaha, I wondered how long before a thread like this. I said it before we signed the bugger but I was crucified for saying so - the Yak is a lazy, most-of-the-time useless article. He starts ok, soon goes back to old habits. At the end of the day, it's hard to go on for 90 minutes when you are 38.
