Grimace Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Some of the Leicester fans' treatment of Ricardo continues to be utterly appalling. Never mind that we have a keeper with world class experience, who has not been at fault for any goal conceded during his time on the pitch, who made a series of good saves to stop Norwich scoring even more on the counter attack - let's blame him for everything cuz he's foreign and he punches the ball clear instead of catching it. Funny how there was no backlash against Weale even when he made several howlers earlier in the season which led directly to us conceding goals (away at Bristol City and Watford). And no I'm not saying Weale is a bad keeper - far from it, he's generally a very good keeper and has been excellent at times - but Ricardo is also a very good keeper (albeit a different type in terms of distribution, punching instead of catching), and if Sven puts his faith in him, why shouldn't the fans? And to say that the defence don't trust Ricardo and aren't comfortable with him is misguided - the defence has been shifted around to such an extent over the last few games that there are always likely to be errors in communication and organisation. The worst example of this was Yakubu watching Hoolahan (probably the shortest player on the pitch) run right past him to head in the opening goal completely unmarked from six yards, followed by Bamba screaming at Yakubu for not picking him up and petty in-fighting on the pitch about who's fault it was. Also Bamba may be a cult hero down at the Walkers, but he gets dragged out of position so easily at times (see Norwich's third goal). But he's a fan favourite so that doesn't matter, blame the foreign keeper who can't catch As for those suggesting we get some pro-Ricardo chants going - I'm all for that as soon as possible if there are any ideas. Until then I will keep shouting "DAMMIT RICARDO!!" in mock anger everytime we have a shot off target, mis-place a pace in midfield, get caught offside, are on the end of a bad referring decision or anything else that doesnt result in a goal - at least it amuses me and the handful of sentient people around me in the Kop
Haydos Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 I wish some people could realise that just because you defend Ricardo it doesn't mean you hate Weale with all your heart. I disagree with the fact that he was dropped in the first place but now Ricardo's in I'd prefer him to stay. I can see through the ****** who rated him as '1' yesterday (he was at fault for all 3 goals, that clear) but as usual it has to be one extreme or the other.

I trust their judgement more then yours to be honest. Look back on the goals we've conceded sice Ricardos been in goal, not ONE has been because of him not organising his defence properly. All down to individual errors! Bristol City - PVA deflected the ball from what would have been a comfortable save! Cardiff - Bamba and Bruma letting their man go Cov - PVA diving in on the touchline. Ricardo should of done better with the goal. QPR - Bamba and Bruma going to sleep leaving Miller with a One v One Norwich - Yakubu losing his man free header, stupid challenge from Ben Mee, Bamba losing the plot and deflection the off Ben Mee. Now run along sweetheart and find another scapegoat xx

WC 2002 - Beckham and Seaman cost us Euro 2004 - Rooney getting injured. Pens WC 2006 - Rooney getting sent off. Pens Sven got hounded out because wasn't on the touchline frothing at the mouth! Done really well since he quit haven't we!!

Complete and utter embarrasment, blokes done next to fvck all wrong. I wonder if the so-called-fans know how much damage they do to team spirit.... When they chant negativity on the pitch it disrupts the whole team.......... They are working against everything Sven is trying to do.
