FuriousFox46 Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Ricardo hardly made any mistakes in the last few games and people are too quick to blame him. Weale's not any better, he's just as good/ bad as Ricardo. Give him a chance. I'm really disappointed with the Weale chants tonight as I am every game he has our badge on his shirt support him the full 90 minutes. There was plenty of yellow shirted twats to boo.
cc_star Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Weale is no super-hero, he was a player who needed improving when the right candidate became available, but in the absence of that right candidate you shouldn't sign any old shit who hasn't even played a game for 4 years. As much as I hate him thouhg, he would get support from me at the ground.
acooling08 Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 For the first time, I joined in the Weale chants, right after the 3rd goal. I didn't in previous games. This was because from our view, it looked as if the shot was a simple save, we didn't see a deflection. After I calmed down after the game, I regretted it and felt a bit sorry for Ricardo. But surely, this is the last we see of Ricardo. Weale was in great form and taking him out was wrong, and I'd love to see him back.
Corky Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 I agree but I think that Weale should be in goal for Saturday. Ricardo isn't going to be helped by chants against him, we need everyone supporting the players and staying together now, undermining a player so audibly is going to make things worse.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 1 mistake and everyone is on his back however if he'd have saved the penalty everyone would bum off him.
FuriousFox46 Posted 8 March 2011 Author Posted 8 March 2011 1 mistake and everyone is on his back however if he'd have saved the penalty everyone would bum off him. Yeah, I feel quite sorry for him actually...
The MayneFox Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 I was disgusted after the 3rd goal!, i felt sick, at how our own supporters treat are own players, get behind the lads!
FrankieADZ Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 I just dont see why Weale was replaced after having a blinder at Sheff Utd, The thing that get me is I'd rather him sign someone who knows the englsih game...someone like Roy Carroll or something rather than Ricardo who hasnt played in the UK. I think its fair to compare him to a Certain Tall Aussie.
topharry123 Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 No player wearing the Leicester shirt should be booed....Saying that I think he's had his chance and he's not been commanding enough for my liking. Weale should be back in the side. Fair play for Sven to try someone like that with a great reputation and i'm assuming a good performer in training, however he's had a chance and hasn't quite cut it. I can see Sven signing a goalkeeper in the summer.
Fosse Boy Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 1 mistake and everyone is on his back however if he'd have saved the penalty everyone would bum off him. Quite. Only took one save on Saturday for all his past ills to be forgotten and a few to start singing "Viva Ricardo". My days.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 I really do not rate Ricardo as a keeper. I dont like his flapping, his kicking is poor and I just dont think he fills the defence with confidence. HOWEVER I really do not understand what people think chanting "Weale" and cheering when he catches the ball is actually going to achieve. Sven is hardly going to change a keeper half way through. It is nothing more than counter productive as Ricardos confidence gets knocked, the defence become nervous and the other team exploits it. Support the keeper at the time and moan about it afterwards.
Babylon Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 The blokes a flapper and I have no problem people wanting Weale instead (I'm one if them). But the stick he gets is absolutely ridiculous, he gets blamed for everything when it has bugger all to do with him 99% of the time. Same old story though, whilst there is a flicker of truth in the criticisms of Ricardo, Vassell etc. People just go way over the top with it all and try to make out the problems are worse than they are.
wakeyfox01 Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Played well tonight for me, made some good saves second half, and was brilliant with the ball at his feet. It was embarrasing everyone booing because where I was sat ypu could clearly see the shot was gonna be a comfortable save to his left and it got delfected off Mee to the other side of him and he ouldn't shift his weight over. No keeper would have saved that.
samjohnson Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Weale may not be a superhero, but by-heck he will perform better than Ricardo. I did think the "fans" chanting Weale's name in previous games were complete ******, but I too joined in today. I was frustrated in previous games, but todays performance tipped it. If Ricardo wants to play English football, he has to learn that his flambouyant acts of flapping the ball, punching and rubbing Anchor butter on your gloves just doesnt cut it here. Enough is enough. He needs to be dropped. You can say "Oh, dont be critical. Youre supposed to be a fan. Love your team and its players blah blah blah". We need to criticize to point out the obvious floors in our squad, one of which is the man with the gloves. The next step is the pairing at central defence, but we'll save that one for another day shall we..?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Just doesnt give you confidence at all, Ricardo. Weale can make a few silly errors and be a bit prone from long range, but over the course of a season, he will save you more points than Ricardo. Weale doesnt flap, needlessly punch and doesnt do cocky things with the ball every so often.
Jimmy Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Weale flaps just as much and now we don't set out just to stop the other team scoring he isn't good enough. Kieran Westwood is out of contract this summer, he'd be my top target

If you think he was bad did you not see the Norwich keeper, flapping and falling all over the place, i remember Ricardo coming out and misjudging one cross where the striker jumped up and he couldn't get there, don't remember any danger coming from that. Keepers don't catch every cross, whats wrong with punching the ball? It gets the ball out of the box, don't see how that is different from a defender heading it out. People are stating these numerous examples of him 'flapping at the ball' when in fact they never occured. He made some good saves, including stopping a pull back with one of their strikers waiting to tap it in. You could put some blame on him for the coventry goal but no other goal hes conceded has been anything to do with him. If you're gonna boo him then you have to expect him to f**k up more, as that ain't ging to make him play better. People like you boo your own players and then sing 'loyal supporters' the next.

A 1 on 1 5 yards out is never an 'easy save', there was literally no marking, nothing to blame Ricardo for.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 I haven't seen a player so unjustifiably given shit since Tiatto in 06/07. Absolutely ridiculous.
Tommeh Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 If 22,000 people could chant "Leicester" "One Richie Wellens" "When your smiling" as loudly as the chant "WEE-ULLL" our home atmsophere would be fvcking unreal. Complete and utter embarrasment, blokes done next to fvck all wrong.
JoeS Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Idiots. Chanting weale gonna do nothing but destroy the mans confidence. Ok he makes mistakes and Sven will realize this, he just ain't gonna waste a goalkeeper sub in the middle of a game thanks to some knee jerk shouting. In Sven I trust. Not sure bout Oakley though!
thybluefox Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Honestly I feel really sorry for the chap. Sven picks him, so we should get behind him FFS. Then again 99% of people on here has said this for the last few weeks, its the brainless disabled's that ring RL and read the Mercury that are the issue here.
LE15 Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Its bad when the whole of the defence seem to have no faith in the man, but fans want to be looking at the rest of the team first who were completely out played tonight. The people singing Weale tonight are the same tossers that were calling for his head a few months ago. Just wish they put the same effort into singing possitive songs.
Parafox Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 Not the best on some occasions but far from deserving the stick he got. If you had a bad day at work and all the people you thought were on your side started chanting for your competitor how would you feel? Surely better to support and build his esteem rather that mock and bay like mindless nobs which must just undermine his confidence
Raj Posted 9 March 2011 Posted 9 March 2011 He's being mad a scapegoat, cos he aint English! The rest of the team hardly deserve medals do they? The defence on the whole is a shadow of what it was about 6 games ago.
