Matt Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 I stand justified in my comments and thankfully, had the balls to back both of these at the course and on my online account (although you always think, why didn't I put more on). Now have a good wedge in my wallet and healthly balance in my online account. Well done to Rick as well - £50 each way is a monster bet (me and the missues after i convinced her went £10 on the nose at the course and thought that was risking it) and then to stick £300 on Big Bucks (as much as he felt a dead cert, dead certs haven't done well at Cheltenham) that takes ubber balls - you must feel very chuffed with yourself. I wonder what tomorrow has in store? Wow, Wish I had the balls to be putting on such bets, and I was sweating over £15 on Big Bucks Tough one tomorrow, I love Imperial Commander its my old bosses horse and has done me well in the past but he's so unpredictable I feel - When he's good he's very good but questionable, I will have some on him but not sure he'll be my main bet on the Gold Cup, I've only had a quick look but quite like the look of Long Run, and then I can't write off Kauto Star or Denman, Real tough race this year. Tough year to pick all week I feel.

I agree with you that the gold cup is a tough one to call, but I reckon it will be other races that prove to be the money makers. Bert's had a barron Cheltenham as well it seems (or he's just not letting on) so he's due a day of winners - I'll be looking at his picks with interest later!
Matt Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 Tomorrow's Selections; Race 1 - 1.30 - Grandouet. Race 2 - 2.05 - Dirar. Race 3 - 2.40 - Kilcrea Kim. Race 4 - 3.20 - Long Run. (Although as I said tough race and I can't really pick it, I'd love to be saying Kauto Star, Denman, Imperial Commander but I feel i'd be betting with my heart not my head, I'll have to see tomorrow which one I choose) Race 5 - 4.00 - Baby Run. Race 6 - 4.40 - Shoegazer. Race 7 - 5.15 - I'msingingtheblues.
myusernamewastaken Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 Aye up Bean, Thought it was you, this confirms it! I remember you writing this last year on Facebook and I quote "Alberta's Run you are an obscene horse!". Its Adam P by the way, just registered, aint got a clue how you work this thing. Lets hope this turns out right. Is there any others on here I'd know? hahahahahahahahaaaaa Unbelievable. I had £50 each way of real money on it. Got back £537.50 and put £337.50 on Big Bucks. I've just cleared best part of £750 profit. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Ridiculous. This horse actually means the world to me. You can go back 4-5 years on this forum and find all my posts on it, i've now won best part of £1500-2000 from it. I'm in love. I am close to tears.

So where are you predictions for today then Bert? Running it close to say the least! Ignore me - found them and didn't like them much, where's Ski Sunday? I can't imagine having only one eye stops the thing from running?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 Wow, Get me out of here with McCoy on the back has really come in - now 8/1 from 14's!
Matt Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 Tough, so tough. In the end (So far) i've gone for Imperial Commander and took a gamble on Midnight Chase who seems to be the tipped horse. Got a place in the first race with Grandouet. Hope for Get Me Out Of Here to do something in the 2.05. C'mon finsh the festival with a big profit please

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 Fuck off did Final Approach win that Thats what I thought - at least I had him each way at 9/1. Online bookie paid out quite sharpish on that too, probably out of relief!
Matt Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 Thats what I thought - at least I had him each way at 9/1. Online bookie paid out quite sharpish on that too, probably out of relief! I had him E/W at 12/1 so can't complain to much i'm up but could be alot more up 2 E/W wins out of the first 2 races, not won alot but gained on both so better than a kick in the teeth. Kilcrea Kim and/or Bob's Worth next I think, not sure yet.

I had Zarkandar and Grandeout each way in the first and of course Get Me Out of Here so not a bad start to the day. Also had a couple of others that dented the profit, but I've got in a position with my deposit bonus that I can have a free £50 tilt at something.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 Baby run or I'msingingtheblues. You sure you're not going with the name here?!? I'm already on both so the decision is whether I top them up!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 Double place - not bad. I guess, I should have gone with a tricast with Bobs Worth!
