Fosse Boy Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Make the move to SK1 – Kop Enders of the World UniteFrom reading numerous other threads on this forum it has become very clear indeed that there is widespread disillusion with the atmosphere in L1, as well as counter-arguments that those who prefer to stand and sing in the Kop are too spread out to make any real impact. Let’s face it, the vast majority of the time our new ground is deathly silent – the complete opposite to how a home atmosphere should be.To combat this, we need to stop moaning, start uniting and start acting. So if you are fed up with the fact that an embarrassingly low proportion of people joing in with “When You’re Smiling”, “Bring on the Sunderland and Arsenal” or any of the other chants that we as Leicester fans should be proud to belt out for ninety minutes and beyond every home game – now is the time to make the move to SK1.Presently, any like-minded groups of supporters who want to stand and sing are too far spaced out to make a difference, but if we unite and get a good block together in one corner of the stadium there’s nothing that can stop us from finally achieving the home atmosphere we deserve. What we want is people to move their season tickets (and match tickets) from L and K as well as SK2, 3 and 4 so that we can have a solid block of standers and singers together. It’s common sense that it’s easier to get an atmosphere going if we are spreading downwards rather than having just a few rows in every block, so now is the time for us to make this happen.- SK1 is cheaper than L1/K and is also not season ticket only, making it easier for those who can’t afford STs but want to contribute to a positive home atmosphere to do so when possible- You don’t have to buy into the Fosse Boys mentality in terms of what we are doing to join this project, we just want people who want to stand and sing for 90 minutes- Yes, if you move from L/K you may miss out on banter with the away fans and banter is great when it’s genuinely witty, but from my own experience in L1 over previous years 90% of it is simply generic rubbish like “who are ya” “your support is f***ing shit” – hardly the revival of the kind of atmoshpere that made this country’s fans famous for their passion and wit once upon a time- You may argue that stewards will clamp down on any such move, but if we are united we are strong. We all know stewards and officials at the club have no argument when it comes to standing being a safety issue and if we all stand together we can’t be defeated- Even if you have already renewed in another area of the ground it is easy to move your season ticket at any time, and the ticket office will refund the difference too if SK1 is cheaper than the area you’re presently in- Even if you just move for one game between now and the end of this season, surely it has to be worth trying out?So, take this chance to do something brilliant. Brilliant post. About sums up everything i think. I myself stand in K, and only moved over here middle of this season, so i renewed because, moving from the west stand, it was a massive difference. For some games it has been good, but over the last few, the 'chavs' have come out, more and more, and the ring of fire is starting to get on my neurves already . I would defiantly consider it, because the 'kop' should be the place where the atmosphere is. One game next season, i think i will do it. I do give you lads great praise for sticking at it, even after people have been calling you and such. It will happen in the near future.
millzi Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Top post Fosse Boy. Shame I am moving to Australia in 8 weeks otherwise I would have definitely loved to have been part of it, if I get time off work from now until the end of the season I'll definitely be sitting in SK1 if this kicks off, I hate being sat next to people in the Kop that don't sing and just treat you like filth for being passionate and getting behind your team and singing.
Tommeh Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Well said mate. Will be SK1 for remaining home games and sorting st for next term soon. And re. anyone fearing standing issues, I'm usually 3 rows down on the other side of sk1 to the Fosse boys when i go and havn't been asked to sit all season, theres more and more up every game with numbers stood to rival L1 against Leeds and Man city which can easily be achieved every game. It's a really big block and has huge potential.
Dan Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Absolutely superb post. There's a complication with mine but I'm not ruling out moving there.

Larry_LCFC Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 You want to create a superb home atmosphere in the stadium by cramming everyone that sings into one corner? What about when we're attacking the family stand end and everyone that sings is at the other end of the stadium. Sound does not travel well in the Walkers. Just a thought.
Jackirius Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Great post, get enough people interested and the rest will come. Will defiantly be getting up to SK1 when i go next season and i'm not with family. Good luck, and lets try and make it happen
Ashley Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Believe it or not, Leicester used to be the loudest fans in the country at one point(Filbert Street days) if you ask me this could happen again. I hope this does take off, however last time something like this happened(N Block) it died a death almost straight away because of the Club. Leicester did really balls up when we moved to the Walkers by not putting the Kop next to the away fans, its all been said before but now is the time for change. Good post Fosse Boy, I shall be there for one game this season to see how things get on.
Poakey Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Top post mate. I made the move this season and haven't regretted it,your a good bunch of lads and have made everyone welcome. Season ticket renewed for next season.

Stand UP... Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Great post Fosse Boy. I have been with you all since the Sunderland friendly and will continue to be there through out. If you want to get behind your team and sing your heart out for 90 minutes then make the move!

What about when we're attacking the family stand end and everyone that sings is at the other end of the stadium. Sound does not travel well in the Walkers. Just a thought. Fair point. Obviously there's not really ever going to be a scenario that suits everyone down to the ground. But moving to SK1 is an alternative for anyone who's fed up with where they're sitting at the moment. We're never going to get everyone who likes to sing to move over. Plenty of people are happy where they are at the moment, including many in L1 & other vocal blocks. Fosse Boy's post was just to put the idea out there & let people know that moving to SK1 is a decent option.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Been in SK1 two and a half years now, love it! little bit to the left of you guys, but still great atmosphere

It's a really big block and has huge potential. Must be quite close to us. Row MM around 195ish. We moved there mainly due to the price hike in K having been in there for a few years. It's also been more difficult to get tickets in K now as there are more people there (last year j3 sometimes had no standers in at all for some games yet there always seems to be some there this season). The atmosphere isn't amazing yet but at times (cardiff 2nd half, leeds, there are more but can't think off the top of my head) it's been really good and there's definitely some potential. Never been asked to sit down and the numbers standing have definitely been on the increase. We usually go to at least 15 home games a season, got my first ST next year because I can finally afford to pay for it in one go and I'm looking forward to next season already no matter which division we're in.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 I'll give it a try. I love atmosphere so can't see why i wouldn't enjoy it. I could see it becoming the new 'L1' but with more singing due to more people from the kop being in the mix and the fosse boys influence and chants.
Wymsey Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 I presume this is a bid in order to piss Mr.Barclay off? Good idea for you lot certainly.
ian_marshall Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 I agree entirely with the the OP that unity will win the day, however my only concern is that organisation will fail us all in pulling this off. As a suggestion to the moderators, is there anyway of incorporating a seating plan similar to what they have at the ticket office for block SK1 on this site with season ticket holders confirming their seats for next season so that we can all work together at filling the spaces and ultimately achieving this unified goal?
Guest Bilo Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 I've been a part of the Fosse Boys from the very beginning and haven't looked back since. Cracking bunch of lads with their heads screwed on, well mostly , and we really do all we can to create a good atmosphere. If you want to join the group itself, we are recruiting and looking to grow so give it a go. Our forum is on Dom_Harborough's sig so introduce yourself. Believe me, you won't regret it. Home and away, we've had some of the best football days I can remember in ages this season and I've absolutely loved it. The more of you join us or even just get in SK1, the better the atmosphere will get for everybody. Any of us old enough to remember what the old Kop was like will know that the passion to create something truly something special is there among Leicester fans, our excellent away support shows that the drive to stand, sing and get behind the lads on a Saturday is there as it has always been. Getting this going and going well in SK1, whether you want to be a part of the Fosse Boys or not, could absolutely revolutionise our support at the Walkers. As Fosse Boy said, give it a try for a game or two between now and the end of the season. You won't look back if you do.

Organisation does seem to be where most of these type of ideas fall down I must admit. If you want to relocate with the Fosse Boys, the back 4 rows of our little section are: Row PP seats 32-49 Row NN seats 32-48 Row MM seats 32-47 Row LL seats 32-47 I can't say for sure which of those seats are already taken. There are already a few of us there with season tickets, I know that much, but there are plenty spare. Those are just the rows & seats around us though, just to give people a rough idea of where we're talking about. SK1 is a big block though, there are plenty of seats below us and further along as well. I don't have the details for those but they'll be the same rows as I mentioned above (if you want to be near the back) and the seat numbers will be from 47 upwards. It would be great to get a spreadsheet type thing up on here like they have in the ticket office but I wouldn't know how to go about that myself. Don't know if anyone else does...

Bert Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 If only every fan had fosse boys heart, we'd have a proper fan base. Cracking post pal, got enough respect for you. I'll not make the move simply because I like banter with the away fans, and my mates all sit there. There will always be an atmosphere in there, sometimes not as good as we'd all like. Hopefully l1 will be back to normal next season.

1964FOX Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Great post from Fosse Boy, as he says give it a try and as the numbers grow the atmosphere will build and will be heard more and more around the ground. Even if you get a seat close to the group it can be the catalyst to start the whole kop singing. I am sure as numbers grow more kop singers will join. If only we could get a couple of hundred people I am sure we can make a difference. Also you don't have to be a young lad to join in they make all ages welcome. I am privileged to know what great atmosphere is like in years gone by, hopefully the young ones will have the chance to see something similar if we all join together.
