callis Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 nice 1 fosse boy, next season ill be there, not sure the sound will travel as well as it used to in the old days but lets give it ago.
CosbehFox Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 Thing is when we first moved to the WS, we didn't have any fragmentation. As far as I could see, most Kopites from Filbert St. moved to the new Kop, I can't remember anyone standing in L/K blocks during our first season in the ground. But it was still shit. Tbh I think the reason people moved will be the same reason why this is unlikely to work - we clearly just don't have that many people who want to stand and sing all game in our home support base, and the same people in the Kop who caused the initial problem will be there for years to come because they'll just renew their seats. The problem's pricing as along as The Kop remains the cheapest seat in the ground, it will remain with just atmosphere killers. The Kop at Filbo avoided these folk despite it being the cheapest because it still had the reptuation of the Pen days. Now it's changed, without sounding OTT you've got to make it an atmosphere week in, week out...make it a bit edgy and then the ol' Flask Army might move but it has to be enough numbers that club has to allow the standing etc.
Bert Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 Surely these people won't want to move to SK1, which is about as far away from the visiting fans as you can possibly get anyway? As I say, there are people who love L1 and want to stay there for their own reasons, all power to them I say but what we're offering is an alternative to those who feel the atmosphere in L and K has dropped off or they just don't enjoy the songs in there any more. We don't even pretend to be about banter with the away fans, we're too far away for that, but what we do offer is a section where you'll hear and sing songs that are pro-Leicester rather than the more confrontational atmosphere found in L1. There's no reason why the two can't co-exist mate. You make it sound like an exclusive club. "What we offer". It shouldn't be about what YOU offer, sounds a bit elitist to me and if any new fans were to move there they'd have to do what you say.

Really shouldn't post when I'm knackered and talking absolute shit should I? What I mean is that we're already making a different atmosphere to that seen in L and K and we'd like people to join in with that, it's not about conformity or any such thing because realistically we know not everyone is going to want to sign up to the Fosse Boys mentality but it is a different kind of atmosphere. All about personal preference really.
Ashley Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 IF this does take off, itd be good for each player to have there own song when the PA annoucer is annoucing the teams like at filbert street. I'm still only a young lad but remember that blue and white flag what used to start in Pen 1 and make its way over the kop? Could do something like that or even ask Leicester if we could have the shirt(what they lay on the pitch) to pass over the crowd?

Remember though you'll need a fire safety certficate for that flag if you don't want it confiscated,

acooling08 Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 I'll judge the success of this post after the next home game (Burnley?). Let's see how loud the kop is then,
smallpauldj Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I sit in sk2 towards the front and when songs start around me there are usually around 3 of us joining in on our own. I would have moved to L but I cant stand side views. SK1 appeals to me but I feel being in a corner takes away part of being at a game although away games wouldn't bother you as much when were put in corners. I'm going to relocate up there for a game to see if its for me if it is can i change my season ticket seat or will the club moan and say no?

Ashley Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 We have one Bigger than the foxestalk one which came from donations, what says when your smiling.
millzi Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Just bought my tickets, SK1, row R. Lets see if this works then, I do usually sit around there anyway to be honest. Hope the atmosphere is as good as it should be!

You are allowed to move your season ticket either temporarily (for a single game) or permanently & the club shouldn't kick up a fuss about it. At the start of the season, I had a season ticket in L block & moved it over to SK1 temporarily for the first couple of games at the ticket office & it never caused any problems. It was the same when I eventually moved it over permanently.
acooling08 Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Lets hope SK1 can make some real noise for the Burnely game. If we win that then you never know.
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Also, to anyone who has decided to move over for the next game or any other game this season, don't expect too much. No-one is claiming that SK1 is a cauldron of atmosphere as it is, but it does have potential. Atmosphere is only as good as the fans can be arsed to make it at any given match. It is going to take time, effort & commitment to make the atmoshere anything worth bragging about but if people are willing to join in & give it a go, I think it can certainly improve.

Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Great post & I hope something happens to improve the situation. I rarely get to home games as I work so many weekends but when I've been in recent seasons it's embarrassingly quiet & so different from my filbo days. Please make it work.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 next season lets make a real go at improving the atmosphere, come on lets all try this idea

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Make the move to SK1 – Kop Enders of the World Unite From reading numerous other threads on this forum it has become very clear indeed that there is widespread disillusion with the atmosphere in L1, as well as counter-arguments that those who prefer to stand and sing in the Kop are too spread out to make any real impact. Let’s face it, the vast majority of the time our new ground is deathly silent – the complete opposite to how a home atmosphere should be. To combat this, we need to stop moaning, start uniting and start acting. So if you are fed up with the fact that an embarrassingly low proportion of people joing in with “When You’re Smiling”, “Bring on the Sunderland and Arsenal” or any of the other chants that we as Leicester fans should be proud to belt out for ninety minutes and beyond every home game – now is the time to make the move to SK1. Presently, any like-minded groups of supporters who want to stand and sing are too far spaced out to make a difference, but if we unite and get a good block together in one corner of the stadium there’s nothing that can stop us from finally achieving the home atmosphere we deserve. What we want is people to move their season tickets (and match tickets) from L and K as well as SK2, 3 and 4 so that we can have a solid block of standers and singers together. It’s common sense that it’s easier to get an atmosphere going if we are spreading downwards rather than having just a few rows in every block, so now is the time for us to make this happen. - SK1 is cheaper than L1/K and is also not season ticket only, making it easier for those who can’t afford STs but want to contribute to a positive home atmosphere to do so when possible - You don’t have to buy into the Fosse Boys mentality in terms of what we are doing to join this project, we just want people who want to stand and sing for 90 minutes - Yes, if you move from L/K you may miss out on banter with the away fans and banter is great when it’s genuinely witty, but from my own experience in L1 over previous years 90% of it is simply generic rubbish like “who are ya” “your support is f***ing shit” – hardly the revival of the kind of atmoshpere that made this country’s fans famous for their passion and wit once upon a time - You may argue that stewards will clamp down on any such move, but if we are united we are strong. We all know stewards and officials at the club have no argument when it comes to standing being a safety issue and if we all stand together we can’t be defeated - Even if you have already renewed in another area of the ground it is easy to move your season ticket at any time, and the ticket office will refund the difference too if SK1 is cheaper than the area you’re presently in - Even if you just move for one game between now and the end of this season, surely it has to be worth trying out? So, take this chance to do something brilliant. To finally give this bowl we call home some of the spirit that Filbert Street had, to really make the South Stand a “Kop” and to regain Leicester’s reputation as a lound vibrant home atmosphere. Don’t just say “I’ll do it when everyone else does it”, be part of it now! this season i didn't have a ST but most games i went to were always in sk1! good atmosphere. good view and cheaper. got season ticket for next season in sk1 near top and will not regret it xD
glen parva fox Posted 19 July 2011 Posted 19 July 2011 Best solution is to move the kop to the family stand and surround the away fans, surely then we can make them feel very isolated and we can sing off the same hymn sheet.
