Bilbo Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Anyone no Leeds remaining fixtures please Derby (a) Watford (h) Reading (h) Crystal Palace (a) Burnley (h) QPR (a)
ajthefox Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Reading these reviews is great. I seriously think we should be starting with the exact same 11 against Palace. Maybe a couple made mistakes and could be swapped, but we have to build some momentum and get some consistency, the only way to do that is to only change what you 100% have to. Onwards and upwards!!
lcfcsnow Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 We always look a more solid side with Vitor in the team, absolute class player. He simply has to keep his place and Bruma can do one, but if Sven brings him back then it's his decision to sign him that has cost us promotion, simple as. Credit to Oakley who I've critised many a time, put in his best performance in years today. Kamara was just brilliant. A joy to watch.
lestajigs Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Derby (a) Watford (h) Reading (h) Crystal Palace (a) Burnley (h) QPR (a) Cheers pal
Ozwin Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I agree completely about Vitor, but Naughton has been quality for us all year, it's a tough decision to make. All depends on how quick/tricky the oppositions wingers are I reckon, although Vitor's no slouch tbf.
BoneDog Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Possibly Mee man of the match, but like I say, it could have easily fell to Wellens, Kamara or even Vitor, who did a solid job at right-back in Naughton's absence. Mee was Alan Youngs man of the match.
theadmans Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Is Leicester a featured game on The Football League Show tonight - I want to wallow in this !
Thracian Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Considering the opposition that was an exhibition of football to drool over. Well done to one and all. Four goals, three points, a return to the pass-and-move football which previously buiilt a platfom for success and the welcome arrival of the sort of proper footballer who could really be the catalyst for success. Kamara was so good that recently stuttering found space everywhere. We've so needed a player who can beat a man and disrupt defences. In Kamara today, we didn't just have that sadly too rare quality but we had a man with he composure to make the best of the pictures he saw. Suddenly we had men and passes available in all directions. Kingy reverted to where he belonged but with attacking licence and our ball retention improved no-end. Kamara's presence meant we had another scorer in the side, but just as important another mover and one who could control and pass the ball. Yakubu and King suddenly had options and, for once, the team seemed to gel as a group, particularly second half when PVH showed more urgency in getting forward. While Kamara was MoM by a margin, PVH had by far the best game I'd seen him play, thoughtful, involved, accurate and with a goal to remember all his life courtest of a great move and selfless final lay-off from King. What also pleased me was that there was no pissing about at the end. We continued to pass the ball quickly, to retain possession and to move forward with purpose. The difference between today and our dire performance at Burnley was prounced as the difference in class between Arkle and Dobbin. AT one stage I might have considered Oakley was the only one not completely in tune with the others but second half he changed my mind completely, chasing back with dogged determination on several occasions even when the game looked settled. Gallagher, for all that he can frustrate, once again, demonstrated his ability to effect games and, with Vitor and Weale back where they belong (ie in the team) the defence looked impenetratable apart from the first 20 minutes when we seemed a little vulnerable and had Weale to thant for one outstanding save and a couple more that mattered as well. The result kept us in the hunt but what matters now is that we maintain that cohesion, that self belief, that sense of ;unity and that level of commitment and workrate to built one final run of results. The problem will be not to let any improving situation stiffle our expression as it did after the Derby game. We should just concentrate on what we're going to do and do it, allowing everything else be forgotten or ignored. Excellent performance from team and individuals. I was thoroughly entertained.
cairnsy Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 You obviosuly weren't at the game. Vitor was BRILLIANT. Vitor is better than Kyle defensively, especially in the air. I'm sorry but Kyle has been consistently brilliant for us and better than Vitor at rb. I think Vitor should be playing cb next game but Sven won't do that
millzi Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Much more like it. Kamara was a class above, 3 superb goals as well, PVA's is up there with the best goals I've ever seen down the Walkers. Oh and Brian Jensen is just fat. Is it just me who thinks of this.. every time I look at him!?
somebum Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I thought the ref had an absolute shocker today, it was a clear pen, he should have been sent off, the refs are against us, we didn....... oh wait, sorry folks, forgot to put my blinkers on
dave the caveman Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 We play Bruma, we don't win. We don't play Bruma, we DESTROY everyone.
B52 Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 We play Bruma, we don't win. We don't play Bruma, we DESTROY everyone. Simple as that..... With Bamba as right CB and Vitor or Mee besides we can't concede(too much ).... If it's Weale or Ricardo as gk doesn't matter neither Berner/Aanholt/Mee as LB
Fosse Boy Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Superb stuff. I still dislike our reliance on having loan signings as key players though. Just doesn't sit right with me. Hey ho, 4-0, who cares.
Dylan Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Brilliant performance... everyone played well (even Oakley ). I thought Kamara was immense; excellent workrate, chased hard and looked a different class. Brilliant with the ball, a good goal, and won a penalty. Our defence looked solid; Vitor did really well at RB... He was solid defensively and tried to get down the right-wing as much as possible. Van Aanholt was also great; beautiful finish for his goal. Great goal for Gally; didn't have the best of first halfs, but came back well with a second half brace. On Tuesday, it would be absolutely criminal to make any changes (proving there's no injuries). Bruma shouldn't even get a look in, and I'd even say that Naughton shouldn't start even if fit as Vitor/Mee/Bamba couldn't have done much more to prove their worth. Imo, Vitor is better than Naughton defensively, and should be kept in the starting X1 as it brings more of a balance. Another 3 points are a MUST on Tuesday, which would lead us onto a massive game against Reading. Play like today and Palace shouldn't be a problem. Bring on Tuesday!
Bilbo Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Doesn't Bruma have to play if available as part of his loan agreement?
Ozwin Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Doesn't Bruma have to play if available as part of his loan agreement? I think that'd be a pretty stupid clause to include in any deal. Like to think Sven is smarter than that.
Karljohn Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Great stuff today, Kamara seems to float around and isnt bothered if he has one or four men to beat, they stuck 3-4 on him so many times and he just played a little deft pass into the space they had left. Vitor looked immense too. And if the Burnley bloke who mouthed off at me, my missus and nephew about making a long trip home after the 3-0 spanking in August is reading this by some minor miracle....then up yours sunshine! 4-0!
lestajigs Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Is Leicester a featured game on The Football League Show tonight - I want to wallow in this ! I thought it would be Swansea of the forest game! I thought it would be Swansea of the forest game! Or the forest game
Guest bennytwohats Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Kamara was immense today - so good on the ball and his movement was so good, always finding the space and linking up play - it made such a difference. If we're looking towards next season with him then the signing might not be pointless like some on here were quick to announce. Awesome team performance today though, big performances from Oakley, Gallagher, Vitor in particular, i thought PVA was great, as in fact were all of the defence. That last goal was sublime. Still a can't win situation with our loanees though - when they're not playing well 'none of them give a ****' and when they are 'we're over-reliant on them'. tbh i wish we'd stop talking about them like a collective and look at what they add individually, some we can do without no problem, some we have a decent chance at signing up and others we don't - i'll be very interested to see what happens there in summer though, especially if Kamara can put in that kind of performance consistently.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 We play Bruma, we don't win. We don't play Bruma, we DESTROY everyone. Oh come off it, when we've had our bad run lately everyone has been poor. I'm not sure if this was tongue in cheek or not but it's ****ing stupid. You're clearly looking for a link and to make him scapegoat, last week everyone was absolutely hammering PVA too but today he has put in an awesome performance, which Bruma has done with us before too. Let's just stop with the scapegoats, eh?
Jackirius Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Instead of me reading various threads and pages could someone sum up for me in a few lines how we played today, how they played, the stand out performers and the new video screens. Please
Guest bennytwohats Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Instead of me reading various threads and pages could someone sum up for me in a few lines how we played today, how they played, the stand out performers and the new video screens. Please If you can look up two posts i already did most of that. But in summary: Team performance - awesome. Standout performer - Kamara, movement was incredible and was always offering something, so comfortable on the ball - if today was anything to go by he could be immense. They didn't really offer much, if anything tbh - so in that respect we shouldn't get too carried away by today, but we played very well nonetheless. Screens were decent, i quite liked them but they're not gonna rock your world, seeing the odd replay was a bit of a novelty.
