I honestly beleive that Sousa could have come good given longer and that he would have a more developmental approach to building the team rather than Sven quick fix loans.

Sousa didn't understand the importance of fitness and expected our players at the time to play a style of football they are far from use to. Sven is a much better manager and has the portfolio to back it up. Swansea are doing better than ever without Sousa.

I agree, but he changed things too quickly.

Though we would never have gone down unde Sousa, and even if we hadnt improved he could have gone later nearer Xmas, and we would be in no wosre position really.

I agree, he joined the Club at a bad time, at a time when we had an owner who demanded promotion but throughout his time refused to give the manager the amount of finance needed to have any realistic chance, I think he'll do well, he's highly regarded in his native Portugal.

I doubt we'd have been relegated but it would have been an awful season and we'd be in danger of losing key players who were unhappy. The fitness thing was a huge issue as well with our players only able to play around 70 minutes without their lungs collapsing. In short I don't care too much for these stats as if rather have Sven any day of the week.

Oh and he was backed financially by the owners for example the £2 million for waggy, Yuki Abe was undisclose but I doubt a Japanese international would be cheap. He also bought Moreno and Lamey who cost almost a million between them. Also he had a £2million bid for Ashley Williams rejected so he was definitely backed financially

Would you really have wanted to wait all the way until Christmas with us lagging around 17th than have Sven in and give us a decent season to shout about?

Weare going to finish well outside of the PO's. Without Sven we would have finished outside the PO's juts possibly in a lower position.

Same result, Championship football next season.

Hardly a decent season to shout about.

Our results since Sven took over would have us firmly placed in a Play Off position, can't be arsed to dredge up the stats table but take my word for it.

Sven is unbeaten against teams that he played against the second time round, fact.

He just doesn't have knowledge of the championship yet

Sousa's greatest legacy is the crap fitness levels of the players.

Anyone who was here at the start of the season has looked knackered in the last few weeks.

The thing is you are just assuming things. You have no idea where we'll finish with Sven or where we'd finish without him. But with the signs Sousa was showing we were doing shit all. If you somehow think we could get top half with someone who doesn't know how to make his players play a full game then you are mistaken. This season is not finished yet and how do you know where we'll finish. We probably won't get play offs but we'll be close at least. This has been a very decent, memorable season. We have one of the best managers in the world and have some unbelievable players as well as playing some great football which is entertaining unlike last season and only 1 game vs Cardiff under Sousa. You make it sound as if you'd still have Sousa here now?!

It took Sousa only 9 games to put the club firmly on it's arse. There were rumours of a number of the squad who had handed in transfer requests due to being incredibly unhappy with the way things were being run. I am sure that there was a post on here confirming that he himself failed to turn up on time for training once and his assistant could barely speak a word of English

He signed shite players who are not capable at the lower end of League 1 let alone this division and the team were easily the most dis-organised in the division, if not the country.

In 9 games he managed to ruin Michael Morrison who is now struggling at League 1 level and Jack Hobbs who will probably never be the same player again. He decided to blindly play D J Campbell ahead of any other striker despite the fact he quite clearly did not want to be here.

In his final 2 games we shipped 10 goals. I could go on but you get the picture. I am certain we would be bottom now and players like Gally and Wellans would have gone in January to be replaced by some foreign unknowns and not good enough journeymen. I feel sorry for him because he in many ways was a victim of what happened to Pearson but watching that interview with him when he as good as said that Sven did the dirty on him (after what happened with him replacing Pearson) made me realise how lucky we are that he has gone.

I doubt we will get up this season but am as positive as I can remember that we will storm this division next season with Sven at the helm. Give him the summer to properly put a team together and watch the good times roll.

Also that whole same result, championship next season is stupid logic. You're saying you'd be fine with us finishing 21st than 7th because hey ho we'll be in the same division next season. That is the stupidest logic I've ever heard. How's about the fact we're finishing higher also means next season we'd have something to build on rather than finishing 21st but actually that's completely fine because we'll be in the same division!!!

But this has also been the case under Sousa as well, along with these players being demotivated to play.

4 points off top aint bad considering the mess we were!

There will always be lots of ' What if, maybe this, maybe that '. I'm sure we can judge Sven better this time next year. Sousa may have turned it around,I doubt it,but who knows ? :dunno:

Sousa was fucking awful. I was so chuffed when he signed, but I think I was more in love with his style than his actual skill.

He was awful here, there isn't a chance he'd have 'come good' if our players fitness would've gotten even worse under his methods and our defence stayed as fragile as it did.

Are we seriously having this thread?

Seriously?!

Good god.

Yes. All I am saying is that its an interesting statistic.

I'm loving Sven as much as the next guy.
