Father Ted Posted 17 April 2011 Posted 17 April 2011 They say it all really. Bamba skinned awfully twice. Bruma awful defending for the second. Bruma's half-arsed attempts to get back after he lost his man at 2-0, just before half-time, getting turned inside out for the 3rd and as for his attempted 'header' when Oakley cleared it off the line He makes me feel sick
Guest ttfn Posted 17 April 2011 Posted 17 April 2011 I'd like to see whether that first goal was offside.

shen Posted 17 April 2011 Posted 17 April 2011 We looked decent going forward at least. On another day, Wellens, Vassell and Yakubu would've all scored. The defending however is quite shambolic

perthfox Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 didnt realise how bad our defence was till i watched that, can you imagine that defence in the premier my god we would see some record scores.thanks once again to davie for uploading this
carterfox90 Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 shocking defending bruma better than mee & vitor????? bamba is starting to look poor to now very worrying looked good going forward
lcfc_jme Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 As I said in the other thread, we looked better than Reading in the first half. Nothing on those highlights has changed my mind and it was even agreed upon by the commentator. Difference is - yet again - we were less clinical than our opponents. No complaints second half really, we were dreadful when I watched it and the highlights confirm it. That said, had Vassel scored that chance so early on in the second there's no doubt in my mind it'd have been a different game. Still, I don't think Reading are actually a better team than us judging by Saturday's game. Call me crazy if you will, but literally the only difference between the 2 teams was Jimmy Kebe. If Reading lose him they're absolutely fvcked.
MC Prussian Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Call me crazy if you will, but literally the only difference between the 2 teams was Jimmy Kebe. If Reading lose him they're absolutely fvcked. Don't forget Shane Long, he works well alongside Kebe. I hope we can lure at least one of them to the Walkers this summer, provided they don't make the cut to the Premier League.

On that video evidence I'd agree that Reading's defence wasn't better than ours...

I hope we can lure at least one of them to the Walkers this summer, provided they don't make the cut to the Premier League. Kebe over Long every day of the week. He'd be perfect for us. Pacey wide player that can beat a man, score goals and provide plenty of chances for other players. Knows the division well, plus he wouldn't be able to tear us a new arsehole every time he played against us, which is an added bonus. Like you say though, it's all dependant on them going up. At the minute, I wouldn't bet against it. 9 in a row now, is it?
filbertway Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Weale's positioning for Harte's free kick was laughable.
lcfcsnow Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Weale's positioning for Harte's free kick was laughable. I'm not that knowledgeable on keepers but shouldn't he be getting nearer to that 2nd goal? I don't expect him to save it (it's Weale afterall), but he isn't even close, it's like he dives but doesn't move across.
Haydos Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Weale's positioning for Harte's free kick was laughable. Hadn't noticed that when you mentioned it, he's touching the near post The guy's a joke sometimes. The lazy throw in from PVA aside for their 3rd, Bruma has to be making a slide tackle, there's a point where Kebe knocks it out in front of him about 35 yards out, the touch before he cuts inside where it looks like he misses his opportunity but Bruma does nothing
Corky Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Reading weren't great but they were clinical, can see them nicking 2nd place.
Simmo86 Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 Don't know if its been mentioned on here or not......but Kebe ran something like 80 metres in 11 seconds with the ball for there 3rd goal!
Northants Fox 3 Posted 18 April 2011 Posted 18 April 2011 shocking defending bruma better than mee & vitor????? bamba is starting to look poor to now very worrying looked good going forward It's been said before that the defence is never the same week after week, I may be wrong but hasn't Bamba played in all the games since he signed for us, but his defencive partners are changed every week, please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong
