topharry123 Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3536323/QPR-to-bif-2million-for-Tottenham-right-back-Kyle-Naughton.html Just seen this published in the sun. Looks like if we don't go up we're not going to be keeping Naughton. Much as he seems like he's enjoying his football with us, I can't see him joining a championship club when he has an offer to start for a PL team.
Nick Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 He probably thinks Warnock's a nob and is more likely to sign for Sven - I also doubt he'll leave Spurs lightly.
Bert Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 QPR will make a bid for him in the summer, but I think we knew that anyway. We're already trying to negotiate a deal with Spurs though.
Simmo86 Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Cheers for the update. We can only hope, unfortunately in situations like this its usually the players agent thats makes the decision!
paddy Agyemang Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Naughton is a superb RB and we cant aford to lose him to a shitty club like QPR if we need to we need a protest as im not having robbie neilson in RB next year and we have struggled for a decent RB in recent years and now we have 1 were gonna let him go, sign him up sven
The Doctor Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 we have struggled for a decent RB in recent years and now we have one we're gonna let him go, sign him up sven Not that simple is it Agyemang. Even if sven wants to sign him, naughton could easily to decide to go elsewhere. Our only real hope is he's enjoyed his loan spell here like hobbs and waghorn in the past couple of seasons and so would want to stay with city if the opportunity arises.
Bert Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 He probably thinks Warnock's a nob and is more likely to sign for Sven - I also doubt he'll leave Spurs lightly. Warnock had him at him at Sheff Utd though....
Jimmy Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Warnock had him at him at Sheff Utd though.... did they get on though? if they didn't we may still have a chance
Bert Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 did they get on though? if they didn't we may still have a chance How am I supposed to know that?
cc_star Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 QPR are also supposedly bidding for Bruma... Who I'd quite happily give a lift down myself Naughton & Mee should be our number1 priorities, would also like Vitor and Cunningham. I don't think I'm fussed about anyone else.

We'll not be able to afford Vitor.
Jimmy Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 How am I supposed to know that? wasn't specifically asking you, just quoting as I was referring to your post
cc_star Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Where did you hear that? It was in the papers about 4/5 days ago Google "Bruma QPR"
Jimmy Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 We'll not be able to afford Vitor. maybe another loan spell though
Len Finsbury Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Although we may think Warnock is a numpty, I'm not sure his players would. Also, as much as we consider QPR a crap club, they will have some money next year and are well backed. I'm sure we can match any fee Spurs are asking but realistically, if it was me I'd go to PL QPR and try to get in the England Squad
sdb Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Bummer. Naughton and Cunningham (loan) would be my priorities. Come on Kyle, do the right thing! Can't QPR get Walker again instead?
Bert Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 I think everyone should vote for Naughton if they already haven't for player of the season! Every little helps!
shiv Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 Bummer. Naughton and Cunningham (loan) would be my priorities. Come on Kyle, do the right thing! Can't QPR get Walker again instead? Doubt it, Spurs rate him quite highly!
SMX11 Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 We haven't a prayer if QPR are interested. I think many of us on this forum have already concluded he would be going to QPR if we didn't go up so there isn't much chance of keeping him imo. He isn't going to turn down a first team spot in the prem over a first team spot in the championship.
The Padster Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 As Bert says, we were all pretty sure that QPR would be making an effort to sign him. But also as Bert says I'd like to think that we have already set the wheels in motion with Spurs to get him here, down to the kid himself in the end.

hbkkids Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 i think we should make a song for him, to persuade him to stay, you never know it might work?
Bert Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 We had the max gradel song going for him at Ipswich away. Then never sung since. Oh Kyle naughton You are the love of my life Oh Kyle naughton I'd let you shag my wife Oh Kyle naughton I want silky skills too
Mav Posted 20 April 2011 Posted 20 April 2011 If he does go to qpr, I wouldnt mind Bradley Orr or Pascal Chimbonda from them
