Red Dawn Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Why so hostile, I was trying to be friendly I don't like the City Ground. I much prefer the Walkers but that's my personal opinion. I don't really like old football grounds. I don't think the Walkers is lifeless. The City Ground was poor except for us until the 2nd half and after the 3rd goal to your credit, it was electric. Red Star Belgrade are the Barcelona of Eastern Europe. Good for you, you've proved your cultural ignorance with the other post. Well After living there for over half a year and speaking a middle eastern language isn't enough then I guess I am 'culturally ignorant' I'm going to join the EDL tomorrow
Red Dawn Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Would other Foxes agree that being back at your old ground would be preferred?
FuriousFox46 Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Well After living there for over half a year and speaking a middle eastern language isn't enough then I guess I am 'culturally ignorant' I'm going to join the EDL tomorrow Yes, you are. I'm glad you've realised your error. On a side note. Do Forest not have their own forum?
Red Dawn Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Yes, you are. I'm glad you've realised your error. On a side note. Do Forest not have their own forum? Not as far as I'm aware, not many of us racist knuckle draggers have access to a computer, let alone the Internet
SMX11 Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It was mix bag with the Forest supporters, me and my brother had a nice chat with a few before the game and when we were going down the side streets to the car but there were plenty of vile gloating Forest scum in between, but that is to be expected. Can't see them doing much in the playoffs but you never know do you. I hope they don't go up, we don't want to be left with Derby fans for banter.
Corky Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Would other Foxes agree that being back at your old ground would be preferred? I don't know, I think the atmosphere would've dropped as time went on and we couldn't attract the crowds we do now. We didn't have the flexibility we do now too. I would've liked some imagination with our ground design though, possibly two tiers behind each goal.
Bert Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Wasn't going to bite and was simply interested in seeing what your views on the game/goalkeeper erro was but after reading this such drivel for three pages i had to reply. 1) Have you ever been a European force? Ever? And to another poster reminding that we were in league one, weren't you aswell?? 2) The city ground is one of the best located grounds iv been to in this country, and im not just saying that because its my local team. Its old-granted, but being located on the banks of the Trent is excellent. Id prefer it to any of the souless, flatpack stadiums any day. Iv been to Swansea, Pride Park and the Walkers this year and theyre all the same. 3) 'Ours fans are racist'. I didn't go to the game but i heard of the chanting. No offense but Leicester does have a HUGE asian population and alot of football fans are morons, do you not get this every week?? I think suggesting we are all racist bigots is an over exaggeration of a small problem. due to a few idiots. 4) In what way are we hypocrits? Finally, i agree that we will bomb in the playoffs and i think youll be challenging for auto next year due to the stupid amounts of money being thrown around your club at the moment. On a positive side i thought from the replays you played well and were unlucky to get a draw, also seemed to pack out the away section of the ground which is always good to see. RD So because we have a huge Asian population and we hear it every week, that makes it alright does it? We may have never been a European force, but we've been the most successful team in the East Midlands in the last 15 years yet you don't hear us bleating on and on about it do you? No. Yes, we were in League One, difference being that was the first time we'd ever been in that tier, we came back up whilst winning the league at the first time of asking.

RD You have to understand most people post with their sexy blue tinted fox glasses so sometimes reason goes out of the window for plain and simple trolling. Were all prone to it. But to argue your points: 1) Secretly we are all quite envious of your previous history and in terms of things won and positions reached in the past you are a bigger club than Leicester in that respect. The only thing we had over you up until 2 seasons ago was that for the past 15 years we've generally done better than you lot and hadn't been relegated further than the Championship. 2) I'll agree with most posters on here. The City ground is fantastic, plenty of history, good atmosphere (Most of the time) and from what i remember it is quite well located. The majority of fans will agree that older grounds are a far more enjoyable experience than newer grounds. 3) All clubs have quite a high amount of racist fans. Mostly brainless working class people with nothing better to do with their time. Sadly this will always be around. 4) All fans are hypocrits when it comes to their club. We should have won its that simple. If it wasn't for dodgy keeping we would have won that quite comfortably. And yes you will most probably tank in the play offs especially as Reading, Norwich and Cardiff are looking dangerous at the minute.

What, in the same way a necrophiliac doesn't think a dead body is lifeless? Give me a shithole like Hereford or Southend over every other boring, dull, identikit, corporate wonderland like we've got any day of the week.

lcfcadam Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I love the fact that people still talk about other stadia being better than the Walkers. We get it. You still wish we played at an old-fashioned, 22000 seat stadium that had character and atmosphere - most of us do. BUT WE ****ING DON'T, SO GET OVER IT! Surely just getting down there every week and doing your own little bit to try and improve things is better than posting on here, week in week out (and I swear I've seen some people post exactly the same thing on several threads about "How I hate the Walkers..."), about a situation that isn't going to change in your lifetime? I mean a comment I read further up this thread - "I wish we played at the City Ground"; well I don't, because then we wouldn't be Leicester City would we? And no I'm not stupid I know what you're trying to say by that, but it's still just moronic endlessly pining for something you haven't got. Whatever happened to the one about "making the best of a bad situation"? Might be a horrible old cliche but it's not wrong...

Case in ****ing point; of course it would be GREAT to get to go to a ground like Hereford's or Southend's every week, but then we'd be pretty unlikely to be looking at much footballing success would we? Or would you rather Leicester were in League 2? I could actually understand if that's what you were saying, sometimes I find myself wishing we did in some ways myself, but I don't recall too many people being happy when we got relegated to League 1 if I'm honest...
STEVIE B Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Two things that I recall from 'not so good friday'. 1- The lass I was with ( wearing a City shirt ) being told by a Forest fan, 'You can't be from Leicester, you aren't a f******g P**i !' 2- Ten minutes later,we were in a taxi being driven by an Asian man.We stopped at lights and he was racially abused by another Forest fan. The only time I've heard that kind of filth in Leicester,is when the lovely Millwall pay a visit.
shiv Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I had Forest fans behind me when walking back after the game chanting "Engler-land". Scum and always will be.
howsyourfather Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I had Forest fans behind me when walking back after the game chanting "Engler-land". Scum and always will be. I must admit every time i've been to Forest they sing racist songs at Leicester fans, however a lot of our fans did something very similar at Millwall this season. It was horrible to witness, the police had closed off the station outside the ground as they'd let millwall on the platform first, they however opened the gates a few minutes later to let a young black couple through who had got off the train that millwall were boarding. Nearly all the fans around me started singing Enger-land, Enger-land, Enger-land. I've never heard this from Leicester fans before and probably attribute it to Millwall away attracting a large proportion of c*nts.

We didn't have the flexibility we do now too. I would've liked some imagination with our ground design though, possibly two tiers behind each goal. Two tiers behind the goals looks terrible. Fair enough on the sides, but the whole point of a 'Kop' is that it's 1 tier. A single wall of people behind the goal looks pretty amazing, see the anfield Kop.

Completely agree with this part, saying you wish we played at the City Ground is shameful and blasphemous, call yourselves Leicester fans? I just wish our stadium ws designed a bit better - lower sloping roof, closer to the pitch, then there'd be nothing wrong with it.

TBF, of course it's going to be lifeless when you sit in an empty quiet part of the ground and expect a small group of people will make a great atmosphere.... It's not all about the Stadium, I'm afraid most people in it aren't interested in singing, that's the problem. It's even like that at most away games.
ozleicester Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 One thing about the city ground ,,,, how FOOKING LOUD was their sound system?... bad enough staring into the fooking sun all afternoon, but then deafened by shit music for 40 minutes before the game.. turn the sh*tting music down you coonts!
