The Sven Revolution Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Second half today sounded soooooperb and svens interview on radio lester was the best I've heard him do Well done today svennis...and the boys... We were able to turn around a poor first half and win handsomely Shame it's too late but there you go.. The close season should be interesting Somehow we have to get some sort of consistency going. Ive said it before...when we are hot we are very hot, but this league is only won by consistently good performances and strong defences. If Sven can crack this we could be going places Brilliant
Petchy Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Don't worry he didn't touch the ball. I was supposed to actually go to the game... just wanted to give him a good cheer. Think last night was a bit too messy for me seeing as it meant I forgot about the footy!
tomtom Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Standing in K was embarrassing leading up to and the half time whistle. Booing Yakubu when he came on and sarcastically cheering when he fell over. Great support. Then when he scores 2 goals everyone's singing songs about him like they love him! ****ing unbelievable!! Absolutely!... booing bruma before kick off, and booing yakubu when he came on! Let alone that at half time, when did our support become so crap?...it makes me sick!

MC Prussian Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Apparently, we had something like 13 corners. But only 53% possession - again, I thought it was more by the way we passed the ball around, in particular in the second half.
Bert Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 When I heard the team news my heart sank a bit, I thought it was going to be awful, and until The Yak came on I was right. In the first half, we had nothing for Watford to be fearful of, no target, just nothing. When Yakubu came on, they seemed scared of us and we totally dicatated play, Yakubu worked hard, his first goal was down to pressure and his second was down to his presence enabling King to get some space as Watford were too worried about Yakubu. A solid performance at the back in the second half was pleasing to see too.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Second half was like it should have bveen at Forest, us taking the game to them and getting the win. Bruma was much, much better in his role today and looked more comfortable and confident. Could be the big physical player in the middle of the park we have been after. Still dont rate Yakubu though, but he took his goals well.
EnglishOxide Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 edit: and watfords "ultra" group are pathetic - clearly had no idea, as shown by the 3 grecques in 5 minutes after seeing L1 do after our first. I'm fairly sure that was a piss take. Their support was a shitload better than ours. L1 was completely pathetic until 2-2.

Can't you make it any more subtle, release the pressure and confirm the news that the Yak is signing on a permanent straightaway?

Super_horns Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Another high-scoring game between us guys then. Cannot complain too much about the results although we could have avoided 3 of them but then your goalie messed up at the Vic I remember for a couple... Thought the left back from Chelsea (number 4) was excellenet for you and well we clearly saw Mr Bruma on a good day (and he'll probably never hit a sweeter strike all career) We had chances 1st half and Sordell took his goals well but there is no doubt you deserved the win.

What did you think of the ref mate? Personally I thought he was having a laugh with most of his decisions.
The Doctor Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 12 Fosse Boys! you haven't paid much attention this season have you? Our numbers haven't been all that high - highest has probably been 17/18, I think a couple of the lads were busy bottle-kicking.

All season I've been saying we can't play Wellens, King and Gally in the same team with two strikers. Today we didn't. Bruma in midfield to replace a striker. When Wellens went off, even better! A defensive midfield player, Bruma, and Yuki Abe further forward in Wellens' role, marvelous! Today Sven got it very right. I just hope he knows exactly why. Birmingham need Wellens.

PVA? Really?! Thought he was our worst player today, not his usual mobile self, seemed not too bothered today. Still, always interesting to hear what the opposition thought without any sour grapes. Cheers, always liked Watford from back in the Luther Blisset days. Still defensively shakey - we really need some experience back there - but it was nice to see that Sven can get a team fired up at half-time. Pleased to see Bruma get his goals (and WHAT goals!), maybe he will settle now, much as he settled into the game after a fairly turgid first half. Great to see Tunch back - I was willing someone to kick it out, thought he wasn't going to get on. Will the last two games put us just missing out on the play-off and rueing the odd dropped point? And lastly, apparently Bruma swore in his interview. I had to nip out of the car for a sec to get my chips and I came back to Stringer asking him to apologise. What did he say?

Leicester_Loyal Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 We did play much better without Wellens. Wellens, King or Abe can't play in the same team. One of them won't be starting next sesaon, maybe even two.

One of them won't be starting next sesaon, maybe even two. That's probably because King doesn't do much unless he scores, and Abe doesn't really do much at all. I can't see Abe as a pivotal player for us next season whereas King and Wellens will be.
Guest ttfn Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 The game changed when we put Abe in the centre. He looked lost on the right, but in the centre he moved the ball twice as fast as Wellens.

But thats just my opinion. Sven will know what to do. I really wouldn't like to see King not start, but when he doesn't score, theres not much else he does IMO.
Fosse Boy Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 Hope the half-time boo boys enjoyed that one. Fickle munters.

Maybe it wasn't him then.. Our problem has been the defence too this season because we're scored loads of goals but often got 2 a game without getting anything. Will you be able to keep some of the loan players for next season or will there ben serious money spent on pernament transfers?
Fosse Boy Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 12 Fosse Boys! Who kept singing all game. What's your point?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 April 2011 Posted 25 April 2011 I can't see Abe as a pivotal player for us next season whereas King and Wellens will be. Wrong. The game changed when we put Abe in the centre. He looked lost on the right, but in the centre he moved the ball twice as fast as Wellens. Right.
