Haydos Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 According to the Leicester City Facebook page (not the official one mind), but all that seems to be is news from the official site. "New pitch is being laid in two weeks~ at a cost of £400,000. Who knew grass would cost so much!" Anyone heard if this is true or not? Thoughts?
Stevosevic Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 We had a new one about 2 months ago at the cost of £100k.
SMX11 Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Why do they need to relay again surely they have good enough groundsman to keep the grass from going sparse.
Haydos Posted 27 April 2011 Author Posted 27 April 2011 No idea. Someone in the comments mentioned this: (Still no ideas, pure speculation right now) Desso artificial grass
Larry_LCFC Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Think its true because they said the big screens would be made permanent when the pitch is ripped up so that bigger machinery can be moved in to do the job properly without damaging the grass.
Bert Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 The Dessp pitches are better and what the club wants. Arsenal have one, and their pitch is always immaculate. Funnily enough, the groundsman have more graft close season than in the normal season.

Haydos Posted 27 April 2011 Author Posted 27 April 2011 Aye. In that case, definitely a good thing in the long term. This stinks of committed owners.
Jackirius Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 I know Norwich have one, and theirs is pretty immaculate each week and i'm pretty sure ManU have one aswell. Definitely a good thing though.
KFS Posted 27 April 2011 Posted 27 April 2011 Arsenal have one? Does that mean we won't win anything for years on ours too?
samjohnson Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Desso was installed at Wembley after the disasterous few years it had. Now it holds out pretty well. Its also used by Norwich, Man Utd, Arsenal, MK Franchise and a few more teams.
Dilkes Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 and now we another thing to blame! its a win win situation!
LCFCmatt Posted 28 April 2011 Posted 28 April 2011 Everyone seems to be slipping over recently... very noticeable at the Burnley game. Mind you, I think it's because Wellens' boots are dodgy and Yakubu needs to slip over to have a rest on the floor. Would welcome a new pitch, although I doubt it could cost that much.
