Guest shearfox Posted 30 May 2011 Posted 30 May 2011 35k god that is steep, I would love him here because he guarantees goals but that is too much... I think Sven can find someone for far less who can bag 20+ in this division.... Marlon King wouldn't be a bad shout either
bluearmyfox23 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I think 35k a week isnt bad since there where reports that he was earning 50k a week and i doubt everton where paying that much of his wages cause there not the richest of clubs
Aidy3 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Sign him up as soon as possible and work on his fitness in pre-season! surely the fitter he is the more he can work. However, if he scores 20+. i couldn't care less about how much he works.

He don't run around like a headless chicken and work for the team i.e Hume (everyone's love child) but he scores goals and surely that's what you want a striker to do. His fitness ain't a problem, he ain't fat and he ain't unfit.

The yak was unfit when he first arrived thts why sven came out and said he needs to work on his fitness and i even thin the yak said tht aswell
artursteppe Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 35K per week wages for the Yak, plus Heskey's wages, plus Bougherra's wages, plus other new boy wages. You gotta make a stand somewhere. It's no good letting everyone know you are a 'pushover' in wage negotiations. If the Yak wants to come, he can take a drop, or we find someone else.
80footgiraffe Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 http://www.nsno.co.uk/everton-news/2011/05/yak-wage-demands-too-much-for-leicester/ read this. I'm genuinely sad. I dont care how much wages are. sign him sven....please?
80footgiraffe Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I fooking love that Yakubu. He's like cult now. Fook marlon king, he's gaaash. Heskey, Yak, Kebe, Maynard=promotion+billy sharp=1st place
SMX11 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I wouldn't pay anyone over 20k a week at this level, it is just not financially viable.
Simo86 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I wouldn't pay anyone over 20k a week at this level, it is just not financially viable. Agreed! We were only paying about half of the Yaks wages last season so about 25k! That's about as high as I'd go at a push but then again i'm not in charge so we'll just have to wait and see and hope Sven makes the right decision.
Rocky Dennis Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I wouldn't pay anyone over 20k a week at this level, it is just not financially viable. Not your concern how much 'Top' decides to pay a player though is it? (no offence)
Houdini Logic Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Not your concern how much 'Top' decides to pay a player though is it? (no offence) If Top leaves the club in a few years time and we're tens of millions in debt, then yeah, it probably is his concern
Rocky Dennis Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 If Top leaves the club in a few years time and we're tens of millions in debt, then yeah, it probably is his concern All conjecture that.
Haydos Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 All conjecture that. So we shouldn't even give it a thought?
shailen Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 We have the money, but we should not be blowing it on stupid wages like the yak was asking for at this level. Yeah some can argue we need him for the promotion push, but what if we dont get promoted. Can we afford to pay his wages for another season? Personally i am worried that if we spend big, we will become another portsmouth! Good solid.investments are needed right.now and when we get promoted should we be looking.to pay these wages!
Rocky Dennis Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 So we shouldn't even give it a thought? 'We' Should let Sven and the owners worry about these things I think
Haydos Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 'We' Should let Sven and the owners worry about these things I think Should probably just close this forum then. Sit back lads, nothing to discuss here.
Houdini Logic Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 All conjecture that. Of course it's conjecture - I can't read into the future and it may never happen, but while it has the possibility of happening I would suggest we give it a thought. You don't agree?
Rocky Dennis Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Of course it's conjecture - I can't read into the future and it may never happen, but while it has the possibility of happening I would suggest we give it a thought. You don't agree? The Yaks proposed salary will not directly lead to this club's financial meltdown will it? Saying "I wouldnt pay anyone over £20k a week at this level" is just daft as (I assume) you are not either a Football Club manager or owner, apologies if you are. Point is, Sven has a budget, let him worry about it!!
Rocky Dennis Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Should probably just close this forum then. Sit back lads, nothing to discuss here. Very clever!! A student I presume?
Haydos Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Very clever!! A student I presume? Seriously, what's wrong with being concerned about our clubs future?
Houdini Logic Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 The Yaks proposed salary will not directly lead to this club's financial meltdown will it? Point is, Sven has a budget, let him worry about it!! I think you may be mixing me up mate - I never said anything about £20k a week, and I'd actually agree with you on that point. The point that I have an issue with is when you said it's 'Not your concern how much 'Top' decides to pay a player though is it?'. I've read it in context and you're talking generally, not just about Yakubu, and to me it is my concern if Sven or Top decide to get in several big name players and our club is paying out 5 times as much a week as it did two years ago. It's unfortunate you don't think the same.
Rocky Dennis Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Seriously, what's wrong with being concerned about our clubs future? Just let Sven worry about his budget, not anyone elses concern, except Top maybe! We could pay The Yak £75k a week and we still wouldnt be losing as much money as when we went into admin, we had at least 3 players who were on £35k a week back then without a) a decent income , and b) rich owners.
