I think we should concentrate on tightening up our defence first and foremost, we have like 1.5 central defenders at the minute.

Ehh, is that like Bamba and someone in a wheelchair?

Got a mate who is a Sunderland fan and he claims they're now after Yakubu, as apparently his wage demands are too high for us.

thats bottom, he's coming to us end of. I just think it might take a week or two to sweet talk the yak into it. He wants to play for us, so he'll cut it a bit for good first team football and he loves leicester. Sunders wont get him, its his choice as much as the club's

aha!!!! the yakubu deal HAS broken down because of wages, but from whats being written, there may be negotiations, it doesnt suggest he will NOT be playing for us, only that if he wants to, wage cut.

There's life in the old girl yet!

Guys, not just regarding the Yak, but it's the same with all the players we are being linked with, it's all a question of balance. Total cost to value ratio.

At the moment the Yak £2m transfer fee + £1.75m wages per year. Chuck in Marlon King ( which may be serious or may be a ploy to drive down the cost of the Yak ) at no transfer fee + £1m wages per year.

Everton want the Yak off their payroll and when they hear we're after Marlon King, they could drop the transfer fee to £1m and maybe the Yak might accept £1.25m per year. Who knows?

It's the same with Heskey at lots of money and Kamara at less - then throw in the goalkeepers - if Westwood wants premiership football we might be considering Schmeichal at a transfer fee of £2m + £1m a year wages or the guy from Egypt who would be a much lower cost. Do the same with defenders ie Naughton, Bougherra, Ben Mee plus others etc.

Then weigh it all up and see what comes out at the end.

Sven and the board are doing all of this right now and it will not be a simple task. It certainly isn't as simple as some people seem to think.

Dont worry guys if he loves us that much he will take a little bit less and sign for us instead of Sunderland

Don't think Sunderland would be that intrested I think they will cash for a big striker and think crouch was supposed to be goin there

Well I think they're after a few strikers so wouldn't rule it out. Would rather we had him though, think he's been quality!

They have money they got for Bent 24mil. Lost Welbeck back to Man U. Need at least 2-3 strikers. Yak could very well be an option for them. Pair him up with Gyan and thats not a bad front line. Even if Yak is 3rd choice. I would very much like him back with City but a genuine aproach from a Premier league side like Sunderland (if true) would be very hard for us to compete with.

Leicester are set to push through a permanent deal for Yakubu.

The Nigerian striker, 28, scored 11 goals after joining the Championship side on loan from Everton in January.

He picks up £36,000-a-week at Goodison, but is willing to return to the Foxes.

Whilst playing 25 games for Newcastle when they were in the Championship, he only scored 2. No ta.

Are you sure you're talking about the right person here?
