Yakubu

Yeah, cause Danny Graham is definatley an average striker, he was only the Championships top goal scorer last season, nothing big or 'ote.

One good season and looks quite average from what I've seen. But he deserves his chance more than Morison, that just strikes of desperation.

Bet Alan Youngs weeping at the thought of Yak coming back.

£3.5 million aint half bad, proving his wages are lower! he is a beast of a striker at Championship level, and is a decent Premiership striker as well!

IN :sge: WE TRUST

Norwich are ****ed. There is no way the best players in the championship will be able to keep you in the Premiership.

Make this happen Sven. However, we also need to get him in the right frame of mind for next season.

I disagree. I think a team like Swansea have a better chance of survival than Blackpool did last season. The right team structure together with solid players can get you survivial.

By the way. i think getting Yak back is awesome. He is just the type of player we need. He has already proved it with us. A full preseason with the team will also be a big help.

Yeah I'm gutted we're getting an 11 goal in 20 game striker back, what are we playing at. Should be signing he likes of Nile Ranger who can't hit cows arse with a banjo. Balls in row z, that's what gets you promotion.

We all know he will get goals...But 3 other things........

1. Last season when it was time to come to the party and score against the meaningful teams at meaningful times and project us into the top 6 by scoring against them, it was Yakoldman who could not hit a cows arse with a banjo, a run of games... (Cardiff A, QprA,NorwichH)

(((THAT'S))) when you REALLY need for him to HURT opposition and he missed good chances in all those games, that finished our season.

2. His terrible lack of movement inhibits our attacking very badly, we need to find away round that for next season should Yakoldman come back.

3. He's better than nowt.

Number 1 is a really good point. NOT.

Who actually did score against Cardiff and QPR at their place? I seem to remember no-one. I also seem to recall Paddy Kenny having to make a world class save from none other than Yakubu.

Yakubu will score at least 20 goals at this level. Thats all we need.

Bert,

Any update on our likeliness in getting the Yak?

That's what you pay top dollar for and he never delivered (When it mattered) Good saves bad luck cut it how you like...When the pressure was really on to do for Leicester City......((He)) was nowhere. Hence 10th.

Had it not been for his 11 goals, five or six assists we'd have been worse than 10th. If the defence had've kept a clean sheet at Preston, Weale not cocked up against Forest, and the first ten games of the season, we'd be higher up than 10th. You can't blame Yakubu for where we finished.

No update on his situation yet.

You can't just blame the Yak though. Against Cov he missed a one on one with Westwood but it was an excellent save! and as Bert said Kenny denied him brilliantly at loftus road! Against Forest he was poor I will admit that. But he can do what most strikers cant in this league and that's be in the right place at the right time! Plus the Yak has never been a Dickov style striker, he is what I would call a box striker, that's where he is deadly and that's where we need his quality!

So what would you rather have Yak scoring 2 against Peterborough at home or Yak scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win away at West ham ?

Don't Be a smart arse and say both !.... and don't say who cares at the end of the day its only 3 points (Because one is vastly harder to achieve than the other) .....Which is my point.

There are goals and there are important goals......

The yak DID NOT do it for us last season.

Footnote:

Not talking about anyone else here just the Yak.

Seriously, are people still replying to ibbosuk? He's been doing the same thing for years!

Nice contribution to the debate....appl.gif

No he didn't :)

Quick point on yakubu.

Obviously at this point it's all speculation. But £3.5m is a hell of a gamble to take on a player who has been almost perpetually injured for the last 3 years. Particularly for a championship side.

But putting money to one side, he'd be an excellent addition.

Couldn't see this posted already:

Reports in Turkey suggest Bursaspor have claimed they are out of the race to sign Yakubu from #EFC as the striker has agreed to join #LCFC

People keep going on about the amount of goals he scored.

If you take into context, the amount of goals he scored in one of the most attacking teams in the division, then he should have got alot more.

Next season, i'm pretty sure we'll be more compact.

Whether we would create as many chances and goals with the Yak leading the line, i'm not so sure.

I just don't think for the amount of money being touted around, he is worth the investment.

Yak for less than half the cash I would take.
