Haydos Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 You posted an emoticon Well, in that case..........You Win, congratulations! I'm not trying to 'win'. Someone suggested we should react with caution before chucking massive wages at everyone and you're quite happy and won't question anything. Even going as far as suggesting we shouldn't even bother discussing it. I don't know where else to go with this.
dorsetfox Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 well maybe its just me and you can paint a bullesye on me and shoot me down if im out of line here. BUT who the heck does the yak think he is lets be honest he has spent the last 2 seasons at everton on the subs bench doing nothing. he comes here and scores a few goals and now thinks hes a world beater. lets be about right if i was the yak i would just be happy to be playing football and be looking for a team where i can play every week and if that meant only taking 20k a week then so be it im sorry but to me yak is looking for one last big pay day and cuz we now have some money hes trying to rinse us. we want players who want to play for leicester city and fight for the club ,to me this guy will not do that once the dotted line has been signed
Libertine Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 You posted an emoticon Well, in that case..........You Win, congratulations! Well posting sensible discussion clearly isn't having any effect with you.

If he doesn't then all the better for us.

shailen Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Ffs look in short no one is saying we shouldnt sign yakubu, we are just saying we should be careful not to overspend and hurt the long term future of the club. The end!

dannythefox Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 If he wants 35k its to much anyone with any sense can see that. One player doesn't make a team you can get someone who will score 18-22 goals in this league for far less Chopra, Fryatt, Sharp, King there's loads more. I think the main thing that needs sorting asap is the back four more than the strike force they were crap this season and that's with so called top players!

dannythefox Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Well done! They have been injured or out of favour but most people would agree they can do the same job for a lot less money!
escos Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Well done! They have been injured or out of favour but most people would agree they can do the same job for a lot less money! So which one of these cheaper options do you propose we sign? The one on the sex offenders register, the one who only performs when he feels like it ( usually after Pearson has tickled his bollocks), the one who has only ever scored more than 20 in league one or the moaning one who has only once scored more than twenty??

I never said we should sign any of them i just said they can do the job for alot less. 35k a week is stupid for this level of football i take you don't like the players i mentioned? If i was to pick id probably say sharp.

And yes 35k is a lot of money, but the yak is a great player in this league and with a few better players around him would score for fun. Take the goal he scored against derby I believe there is not another striker in the championship who could of done that. All the top goal scorers from last season had good service at all times where as Yakubu often shows individual brilliance and you can't put a price on that.
dannythefox Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Fvck it lets just sign sharp and yak! Now there's a strike force!
escos Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Fvck it lets just sign sharp and yak! Now there's a strike force! True, however Maynard and the yak would be unstoppable!
topharry123 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I personally don't care how much we pay him. If the owners think it is good business, then I trust them to pay the amount they think he is worth. A fully fit Yak will bang in 30 goals, and that is something we haven't had for a long time. Fryatt was great in league one but not sure if he's capable of getting that many in this league. No-one else has looked a patch ont he Yak since we got him. Pure quality. Maybe lazy, but his goals record speaks for itself. I say sign him up, if his goals can take us to the PL then 35k a week is well justified, especially as they reckon Swanseas promotion was worth 90m to them.

Bert Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Bit OTT don't you think Probably not... There's no reason why he couldn't.
lcfcjim Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Probably not... There's no reason why he couldn't. This! Do you know if this deal has gone tits up like the press stated earlier today, or is there still a chance?
Bert Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 This! Do you know if this deal has gone tits up like the press stated earlier today, or is there still a chance? Most players will be on their holidays at the minute so a lot won't happen just yet. I do believe the press are only saying it's gone Pete Tong because we haven't already signed him.
Tuna Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I get the impression Sven will turn to Yak if he can't sign Heskey.

I suppose we wont be signing anyone soon, what with what you just said, and the fact that we've just sacked off Lee Hoos. Who I'm lead to believe (via stringer on the radio earlier) the Chief Exec often completes the deals.
Ozwin Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 I think we should concentrate on tightening up our defence first and foremost, we have like 1.5 central defenders at the minute.
