iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 On a slightly less glamorous note: Paul McKenna to Hull on a free (despite having a year left on his contract). We're going to have no players left if this carries on! Good player, Experienced at this level. Good player to have in the squad even if he doesn't play every week. West Ham linked with some decent players proven at this level. I feel that's what we should be doing. Look at teams previously that have gone up.
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Plus he'll get the lads to cut down on the ciggies
MikeyT Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Danny Graham (@dawgraham10) has tweeted the following: "It's now official iam a Swansea City player (jack) ....passed medical .... Now bring on Man City #PremierLeague" More on www.skysports.com shortly.
Wymsey Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Demba Ba & Neil Taylor [Newcastle] Never really heard of that Neil Taylor. I like Ba's style of play. Perhaps the Magpies biggest signing they will have.
Brown Fox Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Newcastle just signed Sylvain Marveaux even though he failed a medical at Liverpool. Must be decent if he was that close to signing for Liverpool.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Marveaux is a class act. We were linked with him when Martin Allen was in charge.
ajthefox Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Newcastle just signed Sylvain Marveaux even though he failed a medical at Liverpool. Must be decent if he was that close to signing for Liverpool. Well, not really.
Brown Fox Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Well, not really. Well the calibre of players that Liverpool have been linked with and are buying currently suggests he should be good enough for top 4 because I'm sure that's what Liverpool are aiming for. Why would they have agreed a fee and personal terms if they didn't think he was good?
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Newcastle just signed Sylvain Marveaux even though he failed a medical at Liverpool. Must be decent if he was that close to signing for Liverpool. Are any of their signings this summer actually going to pass a medical?
Uncle Phil Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 O'hara to wolves permanently for £5mill http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13854489.stm
Petchy Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Dorus de Vries to Wolves from Swansea on a free. Good signing that!
Wymsey Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Dorus de Vries to Wolves from Swansea on a free. Good signing that! Best keeper from last season imo.
Soar Fox Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Sunderland confrim signings of seb larsson & kieran Westwood, both decent signings specially on free's
Jimothy Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Ashley Young on the verge of completing his move to Manchester United. Watch him get in the England team for every important game now, despite the fact he's been playing really well for Villa for the past few years.

Watch him get in the England team for every important game now, despite the fact he's been playing really well for Villa for the past few years. Always had the potential, think he'll move up to the next level now.
Jimothy Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Always had the potential, think he'll move up to the next level now. He's at that level. He's been excellent for Villa for a while now. Thing is he won't need up his level at Man Utd to become an England regular, he'll just walk into the team now.
Bert Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 He's at that level. He's been excellent for Villa for a while now. Thing is he won't need up his level at Man Utd to become an England regular, he'll just walk into the team now. He's been inconsistent. Can see him adding more to his game now. He certainly will need to up his level at United.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 I can't see where he'll play. Hernandez will play most games next year ahead of Berbatov. He plays on the shoulder. Attacking Mid/2nd forward is Rooney, he's not gonna be replaced. Nani, Valencia, Giggs (Although I think his personal life will ruin the end of his career) and possibly Alexis Sanchez on the wings. Where does Young fit in ? I doubt Fergie would have payed 16mill for a benchwarmer ?
Libertine Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Giggs barely plays on the wing these days really. Fergie likes to rotate also, can see him playing on the wing of a 4-4-2 or perhaps around Rooney in a 4-5-1/4-3-3.
MikeyT Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 Breaking news: Ashley Young has completed his move to Manchester United from Aston Villa and has signed a five-year deal at Old Trafford. More to follow on this major story shortly...
Danno Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 It'll be something like Dea Gea Rafael ferdinand vidic evra Young sneijder (scholes replacement -modric etc) Nani/Valencia Rooney Chicharito
Dickie Greenleaf Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 He's been inconsistent. Can see him adding more to his game now. He certainly will need to up his level at United. Only Fabregas has more league assists to his name than him in the last 3 years

Giggs plays centrally now, they wont sign Sanchez, which leaves Park, Nani, Young and Valencia as the four wingers. Given that they usually play 50+ games a season and he likes to rotate I can't see it being a problem
