B52 Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 A Brentford fan thought he looked like Beckenbauer. Beckenbauer and Beckham(Gally) can't be totally wrong. The midfield puzzle is solved. Go Sven, sign him for ten years....
Leicester_Loyal Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Bye bye Robbie, you've been a good servant, but your not good enough. If we've lost like 4 loanees, and we've also got about another 5 players wanting to leave, Sven is going to have a good rebuilding job on his hands.
Fox You Forest Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Can't blame him really, he just wants to have one last conversation with the great man before he moves to East Stirlingshire.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Can't blame him really, he just wants to have one last conversation with the great man before he moves to East Stirlingshire. His not that good!
Dan Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Leicester player asking Leicester manager for talks over future. Absolute crime, that.
cc_star Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Okay okay, we all know he's not going to lead us to Championship glory single-handedly and the difference between Neilson & Naughton is almost as wide as the gap between Messi & myself but we do actually need a squad, not just a first 11 to get promoted. If Berner leaves with Neilson following him out the door then we'll need to not only try and re-sign Naughton & Cunningham/PVA but also their backups and all of a sudden we go from needing to replace 6 loan players to needing massive wholesale changes Neilson may not be winning payer of the year soon, but he's a million times better than Lamey, who I suspect joined the club as a cleaner or groundsman because he certainly isn't a professional footballer

IF we lose Berner, Neilsen and the loanees Sven's gonna be even more busy in the summer - the squad does need back-ups..
Christoph Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 I agree that we need back up but is Neilson goign to be ok to sit on the bench? Maybe a loan with a clause to get him back if need be
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 The thread title is very unfair. It's clear that he reckons he got little chance of 1st team footie and he's just talking to Sven about his chances of moving on. Can't blame him.
scinnell Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Isn't some academy players good enough for back up? Then if they are good enough we know for future reference? Just what I do on FM

However I heard Berner's on his way out of the club now (why if so???!). As for the likes of Sousa's flop signings like Lamey - is he still on the Leicester payroll???! - and that other, Moreno?? If we do get Naughton then that will be a coup signing but we can't rely on doing that and besides, we need more than just Naughton to come in for next season if we're to push for the play offs or better and not just tread water or get worse........! I'd be surprised if Sven could get Mee and Van Arnholt to stay on for another season or indeed sign them permanently. We definitely need a new goaly though. I'd say keep Weale and get Logan back from Bristol Rovers as two back ups but try and buy Westwood from Cov. (if he's available) as he would easily be the best for the no.1 position.
KingDarius Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Walks in svens office and before robbie can say anything sven says ... " sorry who are you?"

It's clear that he reckons he got little chance of 1st team footie and he's just talking to Sven about his chances of moving on. Can't blame him. I apologise that you think the thread title is very unfair; in my opinion he just isnt good enough to warrant in wearing the famous blue shirt and when a player of Naughtons ability comes along and we are 'possibly' looking to sign him permanently- does he have any chance at all in being good enough for a so called ambitious Championship side looking at progression? Just wondering did you see him in the Johnstones paint final? I thought he blended in with what was on show and didnt stand out that day at all. Neilson not for me thanks- football is about opinions sorry you think I am harsh but I thought it summed up Neilson nicely.... Just wondering do you think he has a part to play?
Brainy Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Hi Robbie, you wanted to see me? Im concerned that you dont see me in your plans for the future I understand your concerns and will let you leave at the end of the season I hope you keep your promise Is there anything else you wanted to talk about today? That'll be all for now thanks boss
HowardsBulletHeader Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Get rid of Robbie 'my second touch is always a tackle' Neilson.

It's unfair because he's not going in saying, "Hey, I'm good enough to play a part in your grand scheme Sven. Sounds like he knows his limitations, is happy with them and would like to move on." The thread title makes him sound like he's deluded. I'll take my hat off to anyone who is modest enough to know their limits. There's far too many players who think they are better than they are (including some very good ones who think they are fantastic.)
KingDarius Posted 5 May 2011 Posted 5 May 2011 Get rid of Robbie 'my second touch is always a tackle' Neilson. :0
Aberdeen_fox Posted 9 May 2011 Posted 9 May 2011 Neilson just been on BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme, mainly speaking about the latest at Hearts and McInnes maybe taking the Brentford job. At the end, was asked about his future at Leicester - said he'll sit down and have talks but likely he'll be moving on to pastures new as needs to be playing first team football at his age. Good news then!

This, I think it's pretty clear he knows he had his time here and he isn't going to stay here to warm the bench. He was never the best but he's been a decent servant so I hope it goes well for him.
