funkyrobot Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Even with Wolves escaping relegation, i'd take Ebanks-Blake, seeing as Doyle and Fletcher will be their main strikers. Also, how about Cameron Jerome?? Yeh great, buy two poor strikers who don't score many goals.
Spiritwalker Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Hitzlsperger apparently has a clause in his contract to leave W Ham on a free if they were relegated.
Aidy3 Posted 22 May 2011 Author Posted 22 May 2011 Yeh great, buy two poor strikers who don't score many goals. So you're saying Waghorn and Howard have a better record?
ScouseFox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Hitzlsperger apparently has a clause in his contract to leave W Ham on a free if they were relegated. Presumably because there's no way he sees himself playing in the second tier of English football.
shen Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Seb Larsson He'll probably go to a team like Bolton or Blackburn. There was talk about him going to another Prem team in January as his contract expires. Wikipedia confirms
Haydos Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 He'll probably go to a team like Bolton or Blackburn. There was talk about him going to another Prem team in January as his contract expires. Wikipedia confirms Yeah, that's his kind of level. He's still the kind of ability (realistically) we can attract though. Lee Bowyer's another i'd like to see here.
Spiritwalker Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Presumably because there's no way he sees himself playing in the second tier of English football. Probably, but it depends who else comes in for him and what sort of contract we could offer him. I do think that if nobody else leaves the squad then midfield would be an area where we may only have to add 1 player and he is the type I think we are missing.
shen Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Demba Ba He'll be on massive wages and I don't think he'll want to play Championship footie with us or West Ham
Adster Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 I read in the Daily Mail that West Ham will increase Ba's wages by 50% (to 60k a week) in order for him to stay with West Ham.
MiniFox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Yeh great, buy two poor strikers who don't score many goals. Players that don't score in the prem ebanks-blake scored 25 when he was in the championship before
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Yeh great, buy two poor strikers who don't score many goals. Cameron Jerome and Ebanks-Blake would both be unreal signings, shut up. People seem to have forgotten the fact that Wolves haven't actually been relegated, though...
Bert Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 i think Parker will go to Liverpool, Doyle will stay at Wolves and Zigic go back abroad to be honest. Colin Doyle, not Kevin! . Wouldn't mind Seb Larsson here.
trueblue111 Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 johnson dann mcfadden reid and gilks are the only ones that are sensible at all really that we would want
David Guiza Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Anybody who thinks we have a chance of signing players like Parker, Kevin Doyle or Rodger Johnson are deluded.
BlooArmeh! Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 johnson dann mcfadden reid and gilks are the only ones that are sensible at all really that we would want Punctuation.
Haydos Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Anybody who thinks we have a chance of signing players like Parker, Kevin Doyle or Rodger Johnson are deluded. Kevin Doyle? Because he's well above us? We have Yakubu remember. Obviously Parker is but you can't put Roger Johnson and Kevin Doyle anywhere near the same bracket.
David Guiza Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 I can see your point but Roger Johnson should be in the England squad, imo, and I think he'll move to a mid-table prem side. I'm not saying Doyle is 'well above us' but I think better teams will come in for him as they will with Johnson also. I can see your point but Roger Johnson should be in the England squad, imo, and I think he'll move to a mid-table prem side. I'm not saying Doyle starts week in week out when he's not injured which is not the same with Yakubu. ScouseFox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Roger Johnson is way above mid table Championship, and Kevin Doyle is better than that, as well.
David Guiza Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Okay I'm on my phone, and can't edit that last post, God knows what's happened there!
Haydos Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Roger Johnson is way above mid table Championship, and Kevin Doyle is better than that, as well. Hate that it's my only point but I thought the same about Yak, he ended up here though.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 If brum wanna save some wages and rebuild I'd love to see Kevin Philips here. Quality finisher, maybe he'd be an impact sub depending on other buys but would be excellent to have IMO.
ScouseFox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Hate that it's my only point but I thought the same about Yak, he ended up here though. Yeah but there was a few reasons for that, such as Everton couldn't afford him, he wasn't getting a game, they didn't want to loan him to other premier league teams, supposedly falling out with people at Everton? Whereas Doyle/Johnson are both first choice players at their clubs, and now Brum are down, Johnson will be on his way to mid table Prem, probably Bolton if they're to lose Gary Cahill I'd have thought.
