New Forest boss Steve McClaren is in the process of piecing together a squad he hopes will be good enough to take the club back into the Premier League. He has already added the creative talents of Andy Reid to his ranks, bringing the Republic of Ireland international back to the City Ground for a second spell. McClaren is, however, of the opinion that further attacking recruits are required and believes Routledge would be a useful addition. The 26-year-old midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at former employers Queens Park Rangers and helped to guide them to the Championship title. Rivals It was expected that he would return to Loftus Road this summer on a permanent deal, but no such agreement has been put in place. That has left the door open for Forest to make their move, with efforts to lure Routledge to Nottingham now under way. Routledge is open to the prospect of a summer switch away from St James' Park, especially as Alan Pardew has drafted in further midfield cover during the transfer window, but must decide where his next move will take him. Reports suggest Leicester may decide to challenge East Midlands rivals Forest for his signature, while Birmingham have also been linked with the former England U21 international of late.

kingfox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 One player I really want at the club him and Gallagher potentially out wide
Haydos Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Bert did effectively rule it out. If he's available though it would be a fantastic signing. We could do with a winger and he fits the bill perfectly. I'm sure we could challenge Forest for his signature.
Jobyfox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Forest fans are quoting a Twitter source to say that they've put in a bid for Routledge. Does anybody have any updates on our position on this one?
accessory Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Was all over Sky Sports News yesterday. No mention of any other clubs bidding for him.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Class at this level. Would be suprised if he joined us or Forest though tbh.
trueblue111 Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 would love to see it, exactly what we need. cant see it though. gota have more chance of getting him than forest though surely??

FallenAngel Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 I can't see him joining the Swans, if he's after playing in the prem he has better chances elsewhere, i cant see them staying up this season
Chazwaz Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2013484/Wayne-Routledge-sign-Leicester-City.html?ito=feeds-newsxml I know its Daily Mail but I could see it happening.
