Simmo86 Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2376927,00.html? Operations Director!! What a ****ing joke!
Guest Bilo Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Is it April 1st already? What a fvcking joke, a more unpopular member of staff among Leicester fans you wouldn't find.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2376927,00.html? Good sensible appointment. A nice man who deserves everything he gets. JOKE!!
accessory Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Massive own-goal by our club.. Many fans will be distressed to learn that the powers-that-be have been so easily conned by this brown-nosing little jerk.
Simmo86 Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Leicester City Vice-Chairman, Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, added: "We are delighted to welcome Laura to Leicester City, add further responsibility to Simon's role and promote Kevin to the position of Operations Director. "These appointments show that we are keen to bring in the best possible people from outside of the organisation and are willing to promote from within the club. They will all be fantastic additions to our management team as we continue to develop the fan experience at the stadium and strive for excellence both on and off the pitch." Not with that Barclay in charge mate! Living in a dreamworld!
lcfc"weasel" Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 You've got to be fvcking kidding me, shoot the bastard.
bmt Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Why does everyone dislike this guy so much? I didn't really know much about the 'behind the scenes' guys before I started posting on FoxesTalk, so just wondering what Barclay has done wrong.
Jon the Hat Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 I can see why. If you are in charge of the club, the risk of losing your safety certificate looms large, and could seriously impact your revenue. It his previous role he has been all over this, and to be honest this is deemed more important than pissing off a few (or a lot of) fans. Running a football club is a balance, and the fans are not the only people you need to keep happy. Edit: From the clubs perspective it is only a few fans.
accessory Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Some folk need to learn (and soon) that crowd management techniques which may be acceptable in the far esst are less easily tolerated in the UK. Threatening and harassing fans for wearing the wrong scarf or T-shirt is out of order.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 The vast majority of people in the stadium on a match day won't have a clue who he is or whether or not he's done a good job. If it hadn't been for the run-ins folk on here have had with him I wouldn't have known either, to be honest

lcfc"weasel" Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 He's basically the guy who's in charge of all the stewards on matchday. Runs around the control room going mental as soon as he see's the slightest thing wrong apparently.
davieG Posted 16 June 2011 Author Posted 16 June 2011 What does an operations director do? I would guess 'directs' the day to day activities related to the well being of the stadium ensuring it's well maintained and safe and probably any alterations to it including the staff and contractors involved in that.
Father Ted Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 I've heard rumours that he's planning to destroy standing in L1. I would love to see him try knob
Fosse Boy Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 I've heard rumours that he's planning to destroy standing in L1. I would love to see him try knob When I met him that was his plan then too. He thought he was winning. Don't think it changes his job description that much, but annoying nonethless given that so many supporters (far from just the FBs either) have taken issue with the way he conducts his business in the past.
banko71 Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 I am one of these people! *raises hand* My hand is also raised and so is my 14 year old sons. The man is a bully and a control freak and he will not rest until SK1,2,3 and 4 are full of the prawn sandwiche bridgade. When he has got that sorted and these are his words not mine he WILL sort out L1. Now that could be very very interesting.

He'll never 'sort' the 'Kop' so he'll never get a chance to sort L1 if that's his list of priorities.

lcfc"weasel" Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 L1 is waiting. Will be quite funny if/when he actually tries to make L1 sit down. Could end up with a grand scale riot, hopefully.
The Doctor Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Damn it, the sooner the bloke ****s off the better.
banko71 Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 He'll never 'sort' the 'Kop' so he'll never get a chance to sort L1 if that's his list of priorities. He thinks he can do as he likes and this promotion will make him even worse. After our ejection in Feb we wanted to organise a mass stand up and also distibute flyers telling fans what was happening and why but we could not get enough people onborard. So in fact he is already winning his war on fans.
