anotherharboroughfox Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Well like I said, on a personal level it doesn't bother me. If I pay money to go and see a game then I'm happy as long as nobody is impedeing my view. I do like to hear a bit of singing and part of the fun of being at a game for me is the atmosphere created by some of the chants etc. But some people don't enjoy those kinds of things, but they have paid the same money as you to get in so they have just as much right to be there as any body else. Personally I think putting the family stand near the away fans was a bit silly, and it's an even more stupid decision to keep it there, but hey-ho. I'd assume as with most things there is a good reason for it that I don't know about. It's a difficult job trying to keep so many people happy at once and people need to appreciate that, I'd argue it's an impossible job. But I guess you have to have a list of priorities, and like it or lump it, top of that list is and IMO rightly is, health and safety which is where this whole standing issue comes in. Well of course health and safety comes first, but within a reasonable limit. Not the crazy way over the top limit that prevents people from bringing flags and poles in (unless the are sold by the club) for fear of the flag catching fire, in a non-smoking stadium, and poles because they might be used as a weapon. Health and safety these days is a joke.

If people stop doing things like falling off the top tier of a stadium balcony maybe we'd all be better off but unfortunately there is always some muppet who does something stupid and causes these new precedures to come about.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Tornadoshaun- its a tough un. This bloke is following rules, BUT if every single fan decided to stand then the stewards would have no chance. Sitting down at a football match ruins the whole thing. Leeds away twice last season was ruined. Wembley trips are ruined. I do not want to go to a game to sit down. If they enforce it in l1 next season i'll hand my ticket back. If you submit to these tossers they will win You are intimating that ALL the fans in L1 WANT. to stand. Many HAVE to stand because those in front of them stand. What is so great about L1 anyway? It's just a fraction of the ground, and is no more significant than the rest of it. Some of the regulars, not all, seem to be under the impression that the club couldn't survive without them.--- WRONG!. . Also, if I was in there and wanted to sit, and the bloke in front of me stood, I'd down him good and proper. Done it before, in fact. ( not at The Walkers), L1, seems to have all the Leicester idiots in it. A flock of penned sheep, have more sense than most of them.do.

You've actually hit a fellow City fan at the football for standing in front of you, please god!
The Doctor Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 You've actually hit a fellow City fan at the football for standing in front of you, please god! at least he didn't touch a steward - worth an ejection and trip to the cop shop according to barclay.

Father Ted Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 i have to stand up before i go to the loo , i then walk watching the match when going towards the loo , does the discussion on here by tornado fart pants mean i have to crawl on my arse for a pee or if not it means i will be ejected ? Sounds bad, could cause some serious problems. I think we should get a minimum of 3 stewards to go into the toilet cubicle with you. One to lift the toilet seat up, one to hold your pecker and one in case of accident.
Father Ted Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 You've actually hit a fellow City fan at the football for standing in front of you, please god! Here's a DANGEROUS TIGER THOUGH!

I stand in L1 because I WANT to STAND with other people who ALSO WANT to STAND. Get rid of L1 (and K1) and you will be able to hear the players shouting and obviously everyone will be able to hear DANGEROUS TIGER shouting 'break his fockin legs' and 'DOWN HIM!'. You know what DANGEROUS TIGER, I dare you to come to L1, row GG, and I dare you to make me sit down. You sound just like the pleb who was sat on the second to top row at Cov the other season, pulled me by my hood when I was standing so I 'downed him/you'.
Kitchandro Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Well I'd have thought it would be pretty obvious, and that's the risk of people falling over. It's also pretty irritating if you happen to be sat behind someone who is intent on standing up during the game. Whether you like it or not doesn't really matter, these regulations are not just applicable to Leicester City FC either, it' a nationwide thing that I guess you could say has come about during the 'evolution' of the game thanks to incidents like Hillsboro'. As a counter-question, I'd ask you what is so good about standing up that you can't do sitting down? actually LOLed at this
The Year Of The Fox Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 If you don't want to stand piss off from l block. Hows that?

Ozwin Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Why do these people get into football related careers if they clearly have no idea what it's like to be an actual fan? Utter cretins.
Poakey Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 L1 a bunch of idiots?can you give a reason for this comment? I'd be really interested to hear of your idea of a good afternoon at the football then?(other then hitting fellow city fans if there doing something you dont approve of) You sound like the sort of fan I despise.
Kitchandro Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Sorry folks but when somebody just writes 'Hillsborough' as their argument against standing then there's no point debating. Just let them be wrong, they aren't going to see reason. Anyway it's people like this Tornado bloke that explain why the Fosse Boys will never win.

It is quite a lot more significant than some areas of the ground. The majority of it is Season Ticket holders and it is pretty much the only place that creates an atmosphere. Like it or not that is fact.

Dan Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 Standing is not unsafe, never has been and never will be. Health & Safety is the biggest load of shite in this country, without a doubt, it's constantly OTT regarding just about everything, football included, and is it really a concern of H&S? Is it really a co-incidence that 90% of people in H&S go well OTT with it? No, because it's not about H&S, it's about control, and fvck all else.

FoxesAreBlue Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 I have to admit I had only briefly hear of Kevin Barclay briefly and although I got the feeling that he wasn't going to be winning any popularity awards any time soon I didn't actually know what he had done wrong, reading Bankos story made my blood boil. It's one of those examples of yet another sneaky character ass-kissing his way to the top and exercising his power just because he can. I know I'm jumping on the bandwagon here but now I just want to knock the jobsworth out. Can't stand that type of person, worked under too many of them in the past.
