If anyone hit me for standing up at the football, I wouldn't give a shit if they were even an OAP, I'd smack the cvnt back.

Standing is not unsafe, never has been and never will be.

Health & Safety is the biggest load of shite in this country, without a doubt, it's constantly OTT regarding just about everything, football included, and is it really a concern of H&S? Is it really a co-incidence that 90% of people in H&S go well OTT with it?

No, because it's not about H&S, it's about control, and fvck all else.

Football aside, H&S focus has massively reduced accident and injury in the workplace in this country over the past 20 years. Employers have to make an effort to care about their employee's safety - this is a fundamental right of workers and it took hundreds of years and a lot of hard work to come about. Does it attract certain types of people? Maybe it does, but to dismiss it like you have is wrong and ignorant, and belittles the efforts of many to gets workers rights enshrined in law.

While I agree with you Jon that the drop in work-related deaths since H&S laws were brought in is staggering (think it went down from something like 8,000 to 800 per year), its sort of besides the issue at hand. Kevin Barclay himself admitted to me in a meeting that there was no safety issue with football supporters standing at games. This has been proved by virtue of the fact that week in and week out tens of thousands of fans up and down the country do so - in seated areas and, in the lower divisions, on terraces.

I might add that at the same meeting I implored him and the club to set a precedent and come out as an organisation in support of standing areas. However, he claimed that it was not his or the clubs job to do so and that it was the supporters' job to push for it.

If it was a genuine safety concern to have people stood up inside a football ground he would make damn well sure all of L1, the away fans and the other pockets of standers were sat down every week. It is all about power and control, and when he can isolate pockets of standers he is able to exercise that power over them.

I stand in L1 because I WANT to STAND with other people who ALSO WANT to STAND.

Get rid of L1 (and K1) and you will be able to hear the players shouting and obviously everyone will be able to hear DANGEROUS TIGER shouting 'break his fockin legs' and 'DOWN HIM!'.

You know what DANGEROUS TIGER, I dare you to come to L1, row GG, and I dare you to make me sit down.

You sound just like the pleb who was sat on the second to top row at Cov the other season, pulled me by my hood when I was standing so I 'downed him/you'.

SHEEP! --and a DONKEY as well. You really terrify me. :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh:

Why do these people get into football related careers if they clearly have no idea what it's like to be an actual fan?

Utter cretins.

Never have been a steward Ozwin, that's a wind up mate.

Oh no, NOT a City fan.

Oh no , I am not. :crylaugh:

If you don't want to stand piss off from l block. Hows that?

Where did I state I ever was., I haven't. I was talking hyperthetically. If I ever did, any person sanding up in front of me, when I was seated, would get the treatment. That includes the Father Ted moron. Oh yes.

You wouldn't ask them to sit down? You'd just......hit them?

You're such a tool.

You're aware that when you bought you ticket, you agreed to remain seated for the duration of the game

Don't mean to be a killjoy, but you really don't have much of a choice if you're told to sit down. Not saying its right, but that's the way it is.

No I didn't, I agreed to not persistently stand. Now define persistent standing cause not even **** arse Barclay can do that, so technically doesn't know what rules he is trying to enforce.

Of course you have a choice you can say no, if the club want to eject 100's of fans each home game, I would like to see it.

Where did you conjure up the 100%? That is utter garbage. :crylaugh:
