Is there a date this must take place by ?

Yes but I don't know exact dates, but I do know the time frames will be too tight to get the Wilder fight in first. They have three options, get stripped, fight him, or get Povetkin to agree to stand aside until after the unification fight. Which he obviously wont do as I imagine behind closed doors they wont want him to step aside.

Eddie will of known this was going to happen, Wilder fight will happen but the timings of it will be well thought out and after they've made a lot more money. The way they were talking I thought they might try bite the bullet and get it done this year but Povetkin being the headline under card fight on Joshua's card fighting someone we all knew he was more than likely going to knock in the stands was no coincidence. Another 10 million for Joshua in the bank and another fight where he'd be heavy favorite, Pulev White on the under card no doubt the winner then being IBF mandatory and so the merry go round will go round again.

Wilders problem is he represents the final hurdle at the moment. Until there is someone else who they could really build a fight with should they beat him they need that fight as the carrot on the end of the stick to keep the public interested in Antony Joshua.

Will happen the wilder v Joshua fight in 2018 , in summer I believe

side step cash will be paid

all parties know if one gets beat a £100m fight is gone forever

cash will talk on this one , risk management means the fight happens now or possibly never

I'd actually like to see Joshua take on a couple more fights before Wilder. First time he has gone the distance so it will of been a huge learning experience for him. Povetkin next would be good,,,, but Wilder needs the fight more than Joshua does right now I actually think the Wilder fight will happen next year..

I don’t know if you are talking purse or revenue but if the former I don’t think it’d be that much but there we are, wilder that desperate for publicity he talking about ending people’s lives in the ring in order to get people to notice him.

What your saying is common sense to me at least but with Parker having to start again and every other possible contender not being ready, or being well and truly tied up, or being the mess that is Tyson fury, I can see it getting dragged out to build the suspense and earn AJ some more cash. Because playing the odds who’s actually going to be capable of beating either of them? I think the prospect of Joshua getting stripped of one of his belts is probably their biggest worry.

Geniuenly hope You’re right though the sooner it happens for me the better.

Can’t happen next year , not for unification Anyways too many mandatories  will be due

Sky reporting Joshua is fully focusing on Wilder, and have an offer prepared. Povetkin is being mentioned for next year. I guess they will offer him a fortune to wait until then ? If he’s an official mandatory challenger, l don’t know if that makes it difficult to keep him waiting. Money talks l guess. Sounds like Joshua v Wilder will take place over here, and a contract clause could see a re-match in the states. We will see.

Wilder offered $12m fixed fee

£100m fight for me

he won’t take that

I think you’re right. Joshua will take on Povetkin next, Wilder will take on another overweight/journeyman punchbag, and they’ll meet next year l guess.

Mandirories will take over soon the fight might take years to make happen if not in 2018

One thing I’m sure is a Worry for Hearn is the level of manditories is very poor and PPV numbers will plunge

also hearn could be facing purse bids for AJ fights and it’s well known frank warren and BT have been cosying up to a number of the potential mandatories , BT will be willing to underwrite say £10m for a purse , I can’t see Eddie paying £5m to a mandatory

Fascinating times

I’ve heard Ajmal speak a few times, he seems very intelligent, level headed and generally a very nice person. He deserves all the plaudits he gets.

Indeed and sparing against him plenty of times

Shouldn’t even be a challenge but I guess that was always the point, won’t be going into anything too big until at least another a fight after that.  More than likely two I’d of thought.
