Guest Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 You are missing my point, so try not to be unnecessarily rude and sarcastic. Thank you. I actually help to sponsor a child in Africa. There you go. Think before you speak. 1 child isn't going far is it. Perhaps you should think before you preach and stick to footie here. You talk that well.
FallenAngel Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 why would he sign for a championship side when he could walk into most premiership teams??? Deluded thoughts me thinks
Aeropars Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I think whether he could walk into a premiership team debatable. Perhaps a lower prem side but would he want to run out to get a hammering most games?
MPH Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Can't divulge information about my source just take it or leave it. looks unlikely now though for becks. maynard looks promising that's all i can say. i hope i am right as its dragged on too long now. thanks. Hey do you know the names of any of the other strikers Sven might be after if this deal doesnt go through?
Itsthejoeker Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Becks and victoria are considering a move back to the uk while the young baby is small. this is Due to they wanting to re connect with family. we are in talks however it seems that despite a very good offer of wages and different roles within the club he seems unconvinced. ball is in his court now a non negotiable offer has been submitted. on a side note sven has spoken with maynard. cross fingers nothing falls through. :-) Is Sven allowed to speak with Maynard? If he has, surely he could tell Maynard we'd be able to compensate any money he loses if he puts in a transfer request?

Perhaps a lower prem side but would he want to run out to get a hammering most games? You've not seen him play recently obviously. Against United he was by far the best player on the pitch, still spot on with his passing. You can't say he has lost his pace as he never really had any to begin with. He was always about the quality of his passing and he still has exactly that. He is almost always the best player for the Galaxy and it's clear that he's head and shoulders above the rest of the team. The only reason that people think he's past it is because they don't see him play week in week out and assume he's gone bad because he's playing in the MLS instead of for a better team.

fox24 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 just been watching a interview with david beckham and he said that man utd is his passion so to play in the premiership with another team would be very diffucult,he will see at the end of the season about his fitness and if he feels he can carry on then he will carry on playing football but him and his family r settled and happy in usa but he said who knows whats goin to happen in the future as things can change very quick
Ross_Spencer Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 This thread can be closed for the time being, as Sven said on the moan in, that he last contacted Beckham a month ago :L

Burmesefox Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 According to this the owners are very keen and it mnay be something that has little to do with Sven - http://www.footballfancast.com/2011/08/football-news/leicester-city-lining-up-audacious-bid

Billionaires indeed!
danlcfc4ever Posted 2 August 2011 Posted 2 August 2011 I would say we've got as good a chance of any english side getting him, ok we're not prem (yet) but theres the connection with Sven which counts for alot. Still don't think we'll get him though. Part of me doesnt want him to come as we are building a decent team... not a team for has beens.. however i do think it would be hilarious to see him at the KP.. And even more hilarious to see Posh and the kids having a wander round the fish market to get some dinner... hahaha

More chance he'll stay in USA and buy a team.
Tielemans63 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Maybe next season when we're back in the Premier League?
Guest MattP Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 Can we please close this thread? He isnt coming, if he did it would just turn into the usual circus and harm rather than help our chances, he is mid 30's, was finished when he retired from club football a few years ago. Only in England would something so ridiculous be seen as a good thing. The thought of us being 2-0 down at home to someone and watching 8,000 add ons not giving a shit and chanting Beckhams name fills me with some serious dread. Maybe next season when we're back in the Premier League? If we have £150,000 a week to spend on a player when we get the Premier League I'll be fcuked off if we went for Beckham.
jonw88 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 I find it laughable that there's a topic on david beckham and adam la fondre in the transfer forum.. It's not gonnae happen!
topharry123 Posted 3 August 2011 Posted 3 August 2011 I find it laughable that there's a topic on david beckham and adam la fondre in the transfer forum.. It's not gonnae happen! Probably not, but there has to be some basis in it as this is about the third time this story has been going round. I agree you are probably right, but never say never as there have been some pretty big shocks before in the transfer market, think Ravanelli to Boro, Mancini to Leicester, Tevez & Mascherano to West Ham, Simonsen (European player of the year from Barcelona) to Charlton (division 2 at the time). This would be right up there with the biggest shocks, but Tevez to West Ham was far more shocking than this could be as Beckham is old and has links with Sven. As I said I agree it's unlikely, but not impossible!
