sphericalfox Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Nigel clough has just put a bid in for him Not unless he plays for Burton Albion! They are really bringing the goods to Pride Park this pre-season. I expect a tussle with Coventry for the wooden spoon of the East Midlands
Narborough_fox Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Gifs Thread You are allowed to post GIF's outside of the GIF thread you know. It's not like every GIF has to be in there.

Nath Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 Would be massive for the city of leicester aswell as the club if he ever came here. Revenue would go through the roof and a lot of people would take note of us. However, this is most probably tosh.
Narborough_fox Posted 10 July 2011 Posted 10 July 2011 yes i do know it was just a shameless thread plug Haha, fair enough. Just thought you were saying to him that GIF's were only allowed in there.

Guest Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 Will Becks call his latest child "Leicester" or "Lester" ?
Solihullfox Posted 11 July 2011 Posted 11 July 2011 No........she has been named Harper Seven, so no need to grasp at that straw.
Happy Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 From the Daily Star, please take it with a pinch of salt http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/203856/SVEN-S-BECKHAM-SWOOP/? DAVID BECKHAM is in line to make a sensational move to team up with his former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson at Leicester City, the Daily Star Sunday can reveal. Beckham will be invited to swap LA Galaxy for Leicester when the MLS season comes to a close after Foxes boss Eriksson was given the green light to make the cheeky bid. He has tried before to take the England superstar on loan but this time he has the financial clout to boost City’s chances of gaining promotion to the Premier League. WIN £50,000: PLAY DAILY STAR FANTASY FOOTBALL NOW! Leicester’s billionaire Thai backers King Power are determined to help Eriksson guide the Championship outfit – the bookies’ joint promotion favourites – to the top flight. And they have sanctioned a swoop for Beckham, 36, in the January transfer window. City vice-chairman Top Raksriaksorn, whose super-rich family took over the club less than a year ago, wants Beckham to bring his experience on the pitch but also to sprinkle a little stardust at the newly-named King Power Stadium. The club are growing in reputation in the Far East and Raksriaksorn is prepared to fund Beckham’s £200,000-a-week wages for six weeks in the new year to help elevate their status and to advance their title quest. A businessman close to King Power in Bangkok, Thailand said: “This time the Raksriaksorn family are going all out to get Sven to bring Beckham to Leicester. Even they have been overwhelmed at how big Leicester have become here in Asia. “They are keen to maintain the momentum and, of course, grow the club. “Sven is in touch with Beckham, the funding is in place and they hope a deal can be done that will suit both parties. It will be good for everyone.” Raksriaksorn is fully aware that Eriksson has a superb relationship with Beckham, who he managed at international level during a five-year stint as Three Lions boss. In the past, Beckham has trained with both Arsenal and Spurs and played for AC Milan during the MLS close-season. He will again be keen to maintain his fitness before the US season kicks off again in March and a move to the Championship could give him a few weeks to get himself into shape before the American season begins. Raksriaksorn believes Eriksson has the persuasive powers to convince the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star that a move on loan to the Championship would be mutually beneficial. He said: “We want to get into the Premier League simply because I would love to see the team get promoted, because we are a big team. “We have a clear vision that we are trying to take the club to the Premier League.” Beckham, 36, is still keen to add to his 115 England caps and knows he can showcase his ability back in England under the watchful eye of Fabio Capello. Leicester, meanwhile, have been out of the top flight since 2004. They spent one season in League One from 2008-09 but have been stuck in the Championship other than that.
Jakemoore Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I don't trust the star tbh, besides didn't DB state that he'd be staying in America this year?
AmyLGK Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Ah hahahaha not this again! As long as Sven is our manager this story will keep cropping up AND WILL NEVER HAPPEN!
He's not bald Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Cobblers! Infact there's probably as much chance as him playing for Northampton Town and anyway if we are walking the league by then (which we could be in my dreams) why would you want to disrupt things for a month by sticking a "big time charlie" in the team?
Happy Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Am I right in saying that the MLS close season is in January?, not very plausible that we would offer 200,000 a week,
stu Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Did he say that becks might be training with us? Sven's plan is to bring him in to help develop our younger talent for a short time during MLS out season, this will also allow him to prove his fitness for team GB. However becks is still undecided? Very much doubt it will happen though. almost 100% sure he wont be playing on the pitch. Not that I think this will happen, but as above people claiming to be in the know stated exactly the same as the report a month or so ago. Maybe there the offer is there to him. Whether he takes it it not is another thing...
artursteppe Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Am I right in saying that the MLS close season is in January?, not very plausible that we would offer 200,000 a week, I disagree, it's totally plausible. Six weeks at £200k. They'd get double that back in shirt sales plus some. We would make a profit. These guys are businessmen and they know what they are doing. A long term deal at that money would not be worth it, but short term it would be brilliant. It must be worth £1.2m just to get Beckham in a Leicester City shirt for six weeks. The Asians would go mad for it. No other team I can think of ( except Blackburn Rovers maybe ) could make a profit out of a six week deal signing Beckham. I can't see anyone else in this country going for him. I can actually see this happening in January.

Happy Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 IanStringerBBC Ian Stringer Beckham linked with #lcfc again - http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/203856/SVEN-S-BECKHAM-SWOOP/ I see player/coach role more likely
jonthefox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I can just see posh shopping at poundtime in the market.
cc_star Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Ridiculous journalistic licence being taken there "In line to join us" Vs "Been given the green light to make a cheeky bid" Two completely different things The other day he categorically stated he wont be coming back to the UK & EU at the end of their season.
