Matt Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 News flash Bezzanator...you're funding towards the wages of 'greedy and unethical footballers'
jonno24 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 For goodness sake, no, not accusing anyone. This may sound hypocritical, but don't be so sensitive. I am calling footballers bad people in terms of wage requirements. For that reason alone, I don't want this transfer to happen. Not one person can justify the amount of money he'd be paid a week. It's greedy and unethical. David Beckham doesn't require a wage of £200.000 a week it is just what people are willing to pay him he is not a bad person for accepting it. If your employer told you that as from next week you would be earning 50% more than you were on would you turn it down as it would be unethical and greedy ?
TheUltimateWinner Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Right: This could happen. Its like the mills situation, If Sven really wants him he wont stop till he gets him. And Beckham owes Sven so... Watch this space
Bezzanator89 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I just find the over-inflation of wages absolutely obscene. And yes...a newsflash I knew already. One I would never consent to. Soldiers get paid less than this.
Happy Fox Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Right: This could happen. Its like the mills situation, If Sven really wants him he wont stop till he gets him. And Beckham owes Sven so... Watch this space You have made me quite excited, here is hoping it happens, his experience will be invaluable, what the :sge: wants he gets
JmorsonLCFC Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 unethical? omg so is paying 4.5 million for matt mills, so is wasting food, so is washing your hair. no, it's football, you know the price you have to pay nowadays, deal with it
Jakemoore Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Though I doubt it will happen, I know that those who say it categorically will not happen know as little as those who are optimistic about the chances of Sven pulling off the signing of the year; Let's ask God....Bert any news mate?
Aorton6 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Personally i could see him being interested in a move here because of the talked about player/coach role, which could be his chance to get into coaching and management. He also gets on with sven very well. BUT I doubt it will happen.. His wages are way too high unless its a loan move where we only pay a small percentage of his wages.. and he's settled in America. I saw an interview with him not long ago and he was saying that his family are all very settled in America and they all love it there, and how they wouldnt move.
PWII Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Becks and victoria are considering a move back to the uk while the young baby is small. this is Due to they wanting to re connect with family. we are in talks however it seems that despite a very good offer of wages and different roles within the club he seems unconvinced. ball is in his court now a non negotiable offer has been submitted. on a side note sven has spoken with maynard. cross fingers nothing falls through. :-)

Nick Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Anyone seriously thinking this could happen should be spat on this.
themotivator Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 He's been right a few times before from what I remember ok, sorry i wasn't aware of this.
PWII Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Can't divulge information about my source just take it or leave it. looks unlikely now though for becks. maynard looks promising that's all i can say. i hope i am right as its dragged on too long now. thanks.
adam95581 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I would prefer us to sign a player who has proven quality but has a few more years left in his legs. If we sign Becks surely it is more of an attempt to get media attention rather than build a team capable of getting to the prem and more importantly STAYING THERE. As it goes I don't think Beckham will come back to England having seen the interview previously cited!!

Happy Fox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Leicester-City-linked-David-Beckham/story-13049232-detail/story.html Leicester City have again been linked with a move for David Beckham. A national newspaper has claimed that City are set to make a move for the former England captain in January and are prepared to cover his reported £200,000 a week wages for a six-week spell. Beckham Club officials were not commenting on the story yesterday but City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has admitted in the past trying to get 36-year-old on loan from LA Galaxy during their close season. He said that it was unlikely to happen earlier this year. However, the club's owners, who have backed Eriksson heavily in their bid to reach the Premier League, are keen to bring a high-profile name to the club. That would bolster the club's promotion push and help boost the global brand of Leicester City and their company, King Power. The Raksriaksorn family have already spent heavily to bring Beckham's former club, Real Madrid, and all their current stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka to the newly-named King Power Stadium for a prestigious friendly which took place on Saturday. City are massive news in Thailand and all their home games will be shown live on national television this season. However, a signing of the stature of Beckham would put City into another global brand bracket. Beckham's Galaxy contract is due to expire next year at the end of the current MLS season and his presence is said to have massively raised the profile of the MLS. The paper, The Star on Sunday, quoted a businessman in Thailand who they said was close to King Power, stating: "Even they have been overwhelmed at how big Leicester have become here in Asia. "They are keen to maintain the momentum and, of course, grow the club." The story said that the funding was in place for a Beckham deal with the hope that it could be done to suit both parties.
FallenAngel Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 He has recently also stated that the only club he would come back to England for is man utd, we have no chance
Happy Fox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 He has recently also stated that the only club he would come back to England for is man utd, we have no chance He said no premier league club we are in the championship so anything is possible we shall see
Samilktray Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 David Beckham is about 100 times bigger than Leicester City. It' be baffling if he came here.
stourbridgefox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I believe PW11 sometimes gets info slipped through the back door.
