LCFC_DAN Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Was just wondering who everyone thinks , should be are captain for this season , so I made this topic I was thinking either Matt Mills or Richie Wellens as they are both great leaders on the pitch
acooling08 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Add a poll. We have had this thread at leaat twice before!
dave_the_fox Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Andy King is club captain. Unless he decides he doesnt want it. End of.
acooling08 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Don't think we should give Mills the captaincy just yet. Wellens for me.
Bryn Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Andy King is club captain. Unless he decides he doesnt want it. End of. Andy King has never been club captain surely? Oakley was always club captain?
gazfox9 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Matt Mills for me too, and I'd be quite surprised if it isn't him come Coventry.
foxes2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 wow everyone went with mills, i went with andy king i think hes young, talented and has been with leicester a couple of years know, providing he makes the first 11 my vote went to king. I think it is rong to give the captains arm band to brand new players. I feel it would be better going to a player that has at least some leicester city time behind him. why every one chose millsy????

iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Wellens deserves a shot. Although most successful clubs have a CB as their captain. I agree with this due to being able to see everything going on infront, therefore I'd opt for Matt Mills. Got experience as a skipper too.
RowlattsFox Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Went for Mills, like my centre back captains and has experience from being Reading captain, i think he was anyway. I wouldn't be suprised if King is though, and I'd be ok with that.

Understand what you're saying but in my opinion true leadership skills weren't on show by any of the current players when it all went wrong at the back end of last season. Although King does have certain 'leadership' traits we really needed someone to grab the players by the scruff of the neck, something Mills will definitely do. Sven won't be sentimental with his decisions with expectations so high this year!
Guest MattP Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 Like centre halves so I should say Mills but dont think King has done anything wrong to have it taken off him...... not sure..
John Matrix Posted 22 July 2011 Posted 22 July 2011 after reading the reading comments and watching the Bursaspor game. I'm confident Mills is not right to as captain. The petulance, swearing and all round lairyness needs to be addressed before having him as captain.
davieG Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Merc A decision Eriksson has still to make is over the identity of his captain. Four players have worn the armband in pre-season, with Richie Wellens following on from Matt Oakley, Andy King and Matt Mills when he skippered the side against Valencia on Saturday. Eriksson said: "I really haven't decided yet and we haven't talked about it. "We will probably decide next week or the week after. We have many captains in the team. "Richie is vocal and Matt Mills is vocal, and St Ledger talks a lot as well. "It is good to have characters in the team, but we will see who the captain will be."

It looks like it will be one of out of the three (Matts Mills, Wellens or St Ledger)
dpjfox Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Mills, King as club captain, we seem to have a few talkers this season (compared to the quiet young lads of last season) Im sure Kasper and SSL will also be heard from the stands.
