Well I never was a fan of her music never took to her sound but still for anyone to die young it's sad, she obviously was in need of some serious help waste of a life really.

As sad as it is I struggle to feel any sympathy towards her, definitely had it coming, I feel for her dad though, the sad thing is I have a lot of friends on drugs and I would hope something like this encourages them to change their ways, I very much doubt it though.

Sorry but no sympathy from me. Couldn't handle her drugs and drink problem.

She wasn't even a talent IMO. Talent was jimmy page aged 19.

The only bad thing from this is that the radio stations will play her songs non stop. Im sure RL played that rehab song earlier??

You should've gone to rehab, you said no no no

Pete docherty next.

Hopefully

And whilst were at it. Isnt it sad that this will be all over the papers tomorrow, when squaddies dying at war barely get a mention

ever heard of war? two way thing. dealer vs junkie, not fair fight

Uk drugs profits have halved within the last hour.

Aye, and the number of prescriptions she probably had...

Strangely I found her 2 albums lying around under my bed yesterday amongst a load of other random CD's. Shame to lose another life, but she didnt do herself any favours

What the fuck are you talking about?! Every time a soldier breaks a fucking nail we get a deluge of info from the media venerating them as a hero for putting themselves in such danger by having a manicure without full body armour on.

Ok. See how long the headlines in the media last with the death of a druggy compared to the death of a soldier.

Whoever dies, its one life lost. Why should a druggy get more acclaim than a soldier 'doing their job' ?

Please step out of this thread, I dont value your opinion, and 90% of the people on this forum dont.

Thank you for you co-operation.

Why should a soldier get more media coverage than the child who dies from neglect or the several women who are beaten to death by their partners every week?

I don't agree with the celebrity culture we have but there are many more things that happen in UK on a daily basis that we don't here of that are much more deserving of media attention than the veneration of the armed forces.

Regardless of how you view the forces, its people who are dying doing their job. This woman died through over indulgence on drugs.

Samilktray- no thanks, I value your opinion as much as you value mine.

This woman was a hit within the music industry, winning grammy awards, creating number of popular hits etc.

Yes, it would be grateful of the papers to publish news about a soldiers' death, but writing a story of fallen soldiers' death who wasn't known to many of the public more in-depth than a pop star's death wouldn't be right in the interests of the general public.

Just my opinion.

Unfair from some people to show no sympathy over somebody who has died from a drugs overdose, it's just as tragic that somebody has lost their life from struggling to overcome a problem that, although it was their own fault is a very difficult thing to get out of.

Even if you weren't a fan of her, at least show some respect as you would to most other people who have died.

A lost life is the same as another. Any lost life is a tragedy, and should not be compared to others. Have some respect. She was an amazing music artist. A death should not be compared.

actually really feel for her parents thinking about it, her Mum said she was killing herself a while back, must be awful to watch your child doing that and not have any control over it.

sorry but i disagree , i think it's more tragic if someone is murdered like an innocent victim of the events in oslo or killed while trying to protect us

i have very little sympathy with the amy winehouses, george bests, oliver reeds etc etc

you may not like my opinion , you may not like lcfcstu's , but you'll just have to accept it , just as i accept yours

I can see where you are coming from, because she did actually do it to herself. But she has lost her life now, and in my opinion, it should not be compared.
