Amy Winehouse RIP

yes indeed it does probably start with peer pressure , but so maybe does knife crime , burglary , racist hatred etc etc ,

i'm not trying to make light of it , but rather as foxy and trav have said , eventually the buck stops with the individual to stop the cycle

Basically , we are in danger becoming a society who first looks at blaming someone else for every thing bad in our lives before we consider our own part in the drama

again i'll stress it's just an opinion and i've had a couple of large "glenmorangies" before posting this so it may not be as understandable as i want it , so i'll bid you all , good night folks , hic :D:thumbup:

Slippery slope mate! Lets blame the Scots for your addiction.......bastards!

Okay.

Saddam Hussain dying vs Mother Theresa.

Or how about, a child in the Sudan dying of starvation against some kid smacked out of their head having robbed your gran, but they drove the getaway car into a brick wall?

Or Bambi's mum against Megatron?

Not so clear cut now?

Im not particularly a fan of AW, however a life lost too soon is a sad event and whatever leads a person to a life that ends up in addiction, wasted talent and early death is obviously a sad life.

In regard to the above...

If you are Saddams Mum

If you are The brother of the smacked out kid, who youve been spending every waking minute trying to save after his childhood was ruined and left him as a smacked out shell of a human.

the last two , i havent seen either... so meh

not so clear cut now?

It's not a matter of force though is it? Starts with peer pressure, in Amy's case, Blake whatshisname, allegedly; after that it's pure addiction.

Put it another way, how many of you are parents of teenagers? Who of you will blame the child if they start taking drugs? The people responsible are the pushers and the friends of the person who told them it was cool.

Disagree,

I am responsible, They are responsible, their friends and family are responsible, Society is responsible. We all ahve some responsibility for our children

Fair enough! As a matter of interest are you a parent of any teenage children?

Frank is a fucking fantastic album.

Sad individual succoming to the demons of drugs but only herself to blame

Amy Winehouse died? Meh.

I have no sympathy for someone who wasted away their life like her, but she did not deserve to die though and anyone saying that should get off their high horse.

I feel for her family though, they must have been through hell and back already with her and the slagging off she is getting will be killing them no doubt.

All in all I'm just glad I wasn't on facebook when this happened.

Oh yes :)

Now past teenhood, we have survived those tough and at times traumatic years. I know that to a lot of people, taking responsibility for my childs lifestyle upsets them, and i dont suggest it is all down to parents, but we sit happily and glow with pride when they succeed..we have no option but to take responsibility if they fall.

Perhaps she should've spoke to him?

I tend to post most posts via my mobile so I think its fair to say I rarely make my full point through laziness or being busy.

When I referred to the coverage she will get over a squaddie, it was only as an example. As someone already said, noone would think twice if it was a drug addict on the streets of Leicester who had died. I know who I'd feel more sorry for. Some people would love the chance to get into the Priory but can't afford it. She really has wasted her life.

Though I must admit until this morning I hadn't realised that another squaddie lost his life in Afghanistan 5 days ago. -But again, the squaddie comment was only a example.

John Doe- The majority of my friends do drugs to some extent or other. I've done them myself more times than I care to remember. So I'm speaking as someone who has been on the slippery slope before which is why I have little sympathy for her 'plight'

Sad,but not a little surprised, having not been an addict its hard to understand how your life can become so self centered, due to the drugs.what annoys me is my dad died of cancer in April and would have given anything to beat it and survive, whereas others due to their addictions dont give a toss.

And whilst were at it. Isnt it sad that this will be all over the papers tomorrow, when squaddies dying at war barely get a mention

you are a complete **** . sorry pricks are useful. like amy winehouse she was drinker and took drugs squaddies who join up know there is a chance they will be killed in war .saying the squaddies don,t barely mention is crap. you can not compare this deaths you are a sick bastard who's comments make me sick.

TBF what you have put above doesn't really make any sense, passing squaddies dying off as 'they know there is that chance' but saying Winehouse was a drinker and drug taker nothing more.

There is a big chance of dying when drinking and drug taking in the excess that she did, she must have know that, although in her defence it's an illness.

i should have put she knew there must be a big chance that she could die .what makes me sick is what lcfcstu says because he has no respect for what has happened and needs to know that there are people out there her family, friends and fans who are saddened about her death. i for one was not a big fan but liked her some of her music and would not wish anyone dead

Posted

Wouldn't wish anyone dead? Bin laden? Sadaam?

Maybe if you'd have put something constructive then i'd have responded in kind.

Yeh her family and friends will no doubt be upset. But no more so than any other drug addicts family
