leicesterram Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Apparentley the last two madrid tickets have gone to derby fans. Now I suppose it was inevitable- we were never going to sell to just city fans, but to have derby scum there is dreadful. I bet the real derby fans are embarassed. Well i'm a real derby fan, (season ticket holder) and i'm not embarassed, why would i be, to be fair it's a good job other supporters are buying your tickets cos you never sell out anyway, even when we come to the king prawn stadium you only get 28,000 odd. You guys need to understand, You aint our rivals, Forest are, then Leeds. Matches against Fester are no different to us than playing Cov, Brum, Barnsley etc. Anyhow, i have too been to games that don't involve derby, many years ago i went with some mates (leicester fans), up to watch city play blackburn at ewood park, great day out, good game, rooster russell scored the winner . If your honest guys, their going to see madrid, not you. and you can ave your £20 odd, you'll need it when Sven leaves you in the poo,i hear he's trying to sign lita on 15 grand a week??????, my god. Cheers.
bluesbrothers Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 To be honest, i'll come out and say that in a sense I agree with Derby at least that the rivalry seems to be more of a one way thing. Forest is spicier, and any Trees fan who says they don't care is always quick to gloat and wax lyrical about how they're "the Pride of the E. Midlands" when they beat us. Derby, on the other hand? It's always a laugh to chuck the inflatable sheep around, but in all honesty it never really feels like a local derby. Increasingly, the matches with Coventry are becoming our biggest Derby. Forest is still probably the biggest, but I won't begrudge Rams fans the chance to come along today. After all, they've had to tolerate some pretty dire football on their home turf the past few years. I almost feel sorry for them.
wurmer Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 To be fair, if it was Forest vs. Real Madrid, I'd support Forest. As much as I dislike some English teams (Man U for example), I always support them over foreign teams. Especially if they're the under-dog.
Nick Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 What a stupid thread. Full of hate and ignorance - massively surprised it was started by lcfcstu Oh no, wait a minute........
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Author Posted 30 July 2011 What a stupid thread. Full of hate and ignorance - massively surprised it was started by lcfcstu Oh no, wait a minute........ Typical modern football fan comment. If we didn't hate anyone there would be no point in having footballing rivalries. Has anyone felt the need to comment like you have? No, so keep your petty little thoughts to yourself

Each to their own like, but as said earlier, you wouldn't catch me at your place without City being there

We don't give a sh*t about you, as the players you've got are equivalent to a side in the lower reaches of the Championship.

Thank you for giving a local rival money, you wouldn't catch me spending my hard-earned to watch Derby play, and best of luck for your mid-table push next season.

I was around for much of the violence in the 90's Stu - I then saw it for what it was and grew up and lost all respect for those who perpetuate these stupid ideals. Edit: And maybe nobody else has commented - I did because I have the courage to challenge institutionalised hatred.
MC Prussian Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I feel more gutted for the thousands of Real Madrid fans from Derby, Coventry, Nottingham & beyond that are coming to Leicester, only to find out our new Fanstore ain't selling Real Madrid shirts with Ronaldo on them.

I'm with you rivalry is great hatred just breeds violence, violence leads to restricted viewing practices which diminishes the enjoyment of what we've come for in the first place to see a competitive skilful game of football whilst standing, singing and supporting the team.

Theres a bit of a difference between the hatred that spurs on football violence and a hatred that comes from being local rivals IMO. You need to keep that rivalry going to keep football interesting IMO. As for the institutionalised bit- personally speaking I wasn't bought up to hate anyone, least of all other football fans and teams. My dad still doesn't 'get it' when I get so hyped up for Derby away. I 'hate' Derby (not in the true sense of the word) but that dislike has come from going to school in Ashby where the majoirty of my mates there were Derby fans. Plus anywhere the wrong side of Ashby- Donisthorpe, Woodville, Burton, Swadlincote are complete doss holes and full of idiots and Jeremy Kyle participants.

We don't give a sh*t about you, as the players you've got are equivalent to a side in the lower reaches of the Championship Noooooo, I dont need the attention, we have a few of your lot on our boards, so why not, i am born and bred leicester, all my mates are leicester supporters, it's all just freindly banter, i don't care a toss what leic do and even if we are in the lower reaches of the league.....were still in the same league as you lot even with the mighty Sven, pearson got you to playoffs, sven comes in, loans every player he can get and you finish????? Bilo... Go on pick away matey, typical response from a leicester fan, no one can call your beloved club, not even a bit of banter.....sad really.
leicesterram Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Thank you for giving a local rival money, you wouldn't catch me spending my hard-earned to watch Derby play, and best of luck for your mid-table push next season Thats quite alright mate, you need the support. I'm looking forward to our mid table push to be honest, club run properly, players here cos they want to play for us.... Good luck on your desperate push for prem, cos if ya don't go up....... :sge: will walk, leavin you in the poo!!!!!!!. All he's doing is signin players who used to play for him, lazy git. All coming to you cos of money, lita for 15 grand a week? please.....
Red Dawn Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 leicesterram - I know neither of our fans gives a crap about Leicester but no need to come on here and WUM mate. Youd be up in arms if your stuff was posted on dcfcfans etc etc

If 99% of the supporters on here that talk sense, want to talk to other supporters from different clubs about happenings at said club whats wrong with that As said before, it seems that some leic fans are ok to dish it out, but you say oat against their team and its backs to the wall time.

So Greenhill, Braunston and areas like narborough rd are like livin in Beverly hills then eh?. This so called rivalry, should stop at the football itself, i don't hate anyone who supports leic or forest or leeds, why should i? just cos they support a different football club, grow up son. Totally agree with Nicks comments.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Author Posted 30 July 2011 I don't hate anyond. I have a lot of derby mates and a forest mate is one of my best mates! I know greenhill isnt the best, my bird lived there! Its still not as bad as previously mentioned. Its just a physcological barrier I have over derby as a club. I can't tell u why I dislike em, but without football would be quite dull in some aspects. For gods sake don't confuse me enjoying football rivalries with football violence. I know a few of the ones who got sent down after cov, and its poimtless and mindless.

All coming to you cos of money, lita for 15 grand a week? please..... want to play for derby.....no one else wants them. same thing really. i used to work in swad/ashby and derby for coral. most of the derby fans i met were alright. pessimistic but alright. made a good friend with a cashier who was a die hard derby fan and even he realised your the 4th best team in the midlands (5th now peterborough have come up) and need some serious investment. you can have a pop at us because we are spending money if you want. but you just wish you could do the same but no one wants a club dancing with relegation to league 1 every year. and now one of your "best assests" now co hosts on espn . anyway best of luck to ya in the season. say hi to yeovil for us will ya on your way down?

Not been in league one yet bud, but erm i think you was a couple of seasons ago wasn't you?. Best assets, hmmm, you on about barker or brayford?, surely not your very own sav?????. Mate if you think this is all going to have a happy ending, think on, you have a manager with an absolutely pants record in english football, with the man city billions i might add, blew an absolute wad of cash there and done nothing, england?, don't go there, notts county? hahahaha. from notts county to leicester. Looks like a pattern emerging here, only joins a club whos gonna waste loads of cash, get a big pay packet and when it goes belly up sneak out the back door. After he's done with ya pal, you will be playing league 1 footy. Anyway, good luck for the season, my predictions are: mid table for us and playoffs for you.... just think westham and one from brum, blackpool ( their signin some decent players) will be too much for you this season and they have good managers. forest no where!!!!!!!!!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Author Posted 30 July 2011 For the record sven was a very good manager for England
Guest Col city fan Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Football rivalry is fun.. It increases intensity, gives us a sense of belonging to something and creates a local 'grudge match' Football hooliganism is actually not about football at all.. It is thuggery which attaches itself to football as a medium with with to justify itself. Sociologists suggest that football violence is borne out of societal changes which render young men feeling 'the need' to be able to vent their frustrations in a socially unacceptable way. For example, the rise in violence during the 70's and 80's was linked, sociologically to the pit closures which rendered many men, in the north of England, unemployed and angry. It is organised, often happens away from stadia and the lads involved often don't give a toss about how their team is doing on the pitch. I'm sure I've read it's not a class thing either.. With football gangs typically comprising fellas from all walks of life. Sociological explanations of football hooliganism are fascinating and worth a read. I'm glad of course that it seems to have been just about stamped out nowadays. Some of the games I went to as a kid were nothing short of scary. Stand and fight!!!??? Not on your nelly!
Finnegan Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 I did because I have the courage to challenge institutionalised hatred. *APPEARS*
