The Doctor Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 I am talking about us both as teams not pulling up any trees!!!!, ya know, playing football, i wasnt talking about who he's signed Ok look, your all getting a bit uptight about someone giving an outside opinion of goings on at leicester, like i said most of my friends support you and most are a little nervous, ie if you don;t go up, and let me tell you, it ain't a given that you will go up. So lets look at your (pulling up trees signings) Koncheskey?....not bad, but not good enough for prem, last season on loan at forest. so no, not a prem full back or he would be playing in the prem at this stage of his career. st ledger?..... cb relegated with preston. International cb??? roi, well we have an international midfielder, paul green, roi international....don't make em any good though. Nugent?..... errr, 1 sub apperance, not exactly something to shout about, carlton palmer played more and he WAS pants. Johnson?.....not played for 2 years, showed early promise, but who knows wht he'll do, i'll give you he may turn out to be a super signing, but as of yet you can't say he's gonna be a world beater. Mills?.....good player, only signed for you cos you outbid wolves with a stupid offer 5mill is far to much for a player with 2 prem games under his belt. Schmiechel?.....not a bad gk, nothing special though. danns?..... not bad again, nothing special again. the other two, him from hudd's ive never seen so i will not comment on him as that would be unfair, ball?, who knows not played for a long time but could do well. I agree you will have the squad to mount a challenge but as i said before, uptill now you have not pulled up any trees in this league.... and he was for Fulham, then followed Roy to Liverpool. Granted it didn't really work out there for him but one 2/3 month loan spell & then a transfer to us is hardly spending long out of the prem. As for Danns, he got double figures from midfield for a poor Crystal Palace side last season, all logic says he should do very well with us this season.
FuriousFox46 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 what, so no one can say anything about yer precious sven?. Anyone can pull bits of info from wiki, but are you telling me that going no further than quater finals with that group of players is anything to shout about, stats mean nothing!!!, Bobby robson got us to the semi's didnt he, now let me ask you, which is better... quaters or semi's?????, i'll give you a little time to work it out. What problems have we got then?, so we aint pullin up any trees at the mo, but then again neither are you. that im afraid is what teams like us can only expect from now on, sure we'll have our good seasons and we'll also have our bad seasons. Great, so by your reckoning the league table is a waste of time? Shall we just draw straws to see who goes up and down instead?
ScouseFox Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 and he was for Fulham, then followed Roy to Liverpool. Fox92 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Nugent?..... errr, 1 sub apperance, not exactly something to shout about, carlton palmer played more and he WAS pants. ... and 1 goal. And, we haven't 'pulled up any trees' yet because the season hasn't started yet. Sven couldn't 'pull up any trees' last season as he had just over half a season, not a full season etc...
leicesterram Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 You went 4th then turned up at our place and got turned over.It went pear-shaped after that. Your recent seasons are strikingly similar to ours. Relegation from the Premier League then three seasons of struggle. The fourth ended catastrophically for us, it could be the same for you. Good point, forgot about that. yes it could go all wrong for us, but i have faith in whats happening at PP, we are making good sensible signings ( well apart from theo robinson, who can't trap a bag of cement ). But mostly im happy with what weve signed so far. I think mid table this season then a few signings and a promotion push the season after.
leicesterram Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 ... and 1 goal. And, we haven't 'pulled up any trees' yet because the season hasn't started yet. Sven couldn't 'pull up any trees' last season as he had just over half a season, not a full season etc... from 2 inch out, id have scored that!!!!!

But mostly im happy with what weve signed so far. I think mid table this season then a few signings and a promotion push the season after. We may not be 'pulling up any trees' because Sven is building a solid championship side. I wonder what QPR fans reactions were when they signed Sean Derry and Clint Hill. I for one was not worried about them and then they went and stormed it because they had that perfect blend of team spirit, flair and solidarity. Norwich were same as well. No big name signings etc. Last season we had some incredible names on paper but when it came down to it we couldn't perform because we were not a solid coherent unit. Now this season all of our signings have good experience of either the Premier League (Pantsil and Konchesky) or Championship (Danns, Mills etc.) and that is what you need to get out of this division. Having the best team on paper doesn't necessarily mean you will do well, as we found out last year. You may not be worried as you dissect the negatives of each and every one of our signings but I think we have reason enough to believe that you should be.
Fox92 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 from 2 inch out, id have scored that!!!!! Maybe, but its still technically a better ration than the other strikers, such as Rooney etc
leicesterram Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Great, so by your reckoning the league table is a waste of time?Shall we just draw straws to see who goes up and down instead what league?, do you know what i was taking about?, this is what i mean, i have to be repetitive cos you dont seem to grasp simple comments. stats don't show the whole picture, all these silly games against these little teams like faero islands, san marino, and all these countries that have appereared cos ussr split up all count. At the end of the day, sven got to the quarter finals of a world cup finals, bobby robson got to the semi's, without having to play qualifiers against these really silly teams. So yes stat wise he is a better manager than robson, but robson got further playing against better teams
leicesterram Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Maybe, but its still technically a better ration than the other strikers, such as Rooney etc Yep, i'd have nugent instead of rooney too, see what i mean stats mean nothing and you have just proved it with that comment.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 , easy tiger. Not been in league one yet bud, but erm i think you was a couple of seasons ago wasn't you?. Best assets, hmmm, you on about barker or brayford?, surely not your very own sav?????. Mate if you think this is all going to have a happy ending, think on, you have a manager with an absolutely pants record in english football, with the man city billions i might add, blew an absolute wad of cash there and done nothing, england?, don't go there, notts county? hahahaha. from notts county to leicester. Looks like a pattern emerging here, only joins a club whos gonna waste loads of cash, get a big pay packet and when it goes belly up sneak out the back door. After he's done with ya pal, you will be playing league 1 footy. Anyway, good luck for the season, my predictions are: mid table for us and playoffs for you.... just think westham and one from brum, blackpool ( their signin some decent players) will be too much for you this season and they have good managers. forest no where!!!!!!!!! Oh brother, do we get the planks, from other sites coming on here, talking a load of old bull, simply because they are envious of our financial status, Add this to the list chaps, another simpleton. Poor little fella.
Fox92 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Yep, i'd have nugent instead of rooney too, see what i mean stats mean nothing and you have just proved it with that comment. I didn't say that though. I was comparing, not saying Nugent is better.

I think maybe you should take your repetitive points and your grammatical knowledge that can only be compared with a goldfish and go away.

Almost on the money - but why Mills signed up has piss all to do with his ability and you're well wide of the mark with Danns. Most on here will not agree but they struggle to read without their lips moving at the same time.

Daggers Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Daggers right, can you lot do 2 things at once ie, type and use your brain?. Please don't address me directly. Simply because I pour scorn on the general level of intelligence exhibited by most of the pre-pubescants left on this forum doesn't mean that we are in anyway friends. It's quite clear from the rest of your posting that were you to obtain employment in a butchers you'd end up with your head in a cow's arse and your dick in the mincing machine.

Guest Bilo Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Even the standard of rival team poster has fallen to somewhere between the carpet and the floor these days. We used to get RedHux and Tartan Owl, now we get atw88 making the most unwelcome comeback since Jimmi Hendrix's vomit and this clown.

I came on here in peace, to give my opinion and to have a bit of banter with you lot, but sure enough some have taken the hump with an outsider giving their opinion. .

I came on here in peace, to give my opinion and to have a bit of banter with you lot, but sure enough some have taken the hump with an outsider giving their opinion. . I can't help thinking you're missing the basic point of a forum. You've come on here stating your opinion that the players we've signed aren't good enough, Sven has achieved nothing in English football and that we'll end up in League One because of him. The majority of posters on here are of THE OPINION that that viewpoint is laughable and most likely brought about by a touch of the green-eyed monster, because if you're honest you'd love to be in our position with us signing class Championship players. If you come on here telling us how we're doomed to failure in triumphalist tones calling it 'banter' (that word that seems to justify any level of absolute bollocks talk for some reason) then people on a Leicester City forum are going to respond. Try your act on any football forum and you'll get the same treatment, it isn't just our inability to take criticism. If a Leicester fan were to go onto a Derby forum saying how our club was properly run, Nigel Clough was a shit manager making shit signings and you were destined to League One and subsequent bankruptcy, what do you think the reaction would be? The fact that, without wishing to sound rude, you seem neither particularly knowledgeable about our club or especially bright only serves to makes your situation more difficult. We take outsiders giving their opinion, sometimes critical, so long as it is actually constructive and not pointless, tabloid fuelled drivel about Sven masquerading as banter. RedHux (Forest), George (Coventry) and several others are welcome any time on here because they offer a good, objective perspective on us and post intelligently without the need to tell us how shit we are to get a rise out of us. The likes of the Bristol City posters, some of the Cardiff trolls who joined in the wake of our play-off defeat and unfortunately pop up from time to time like acne before a date and Forest/Derby posters who join to tell us how little they care about us without having the requisite intelligence to realise the irony of the fact they've gone to the trouble of joining a Leicester City forum to tell us generally get short shrift but so too do some of the know nothing Leicester City posters.
