I'm going on what i have seen over the last couple of seasons, we now just have the mortgage on pride park, players wages are consistent with the league we play in ( now sav and varney have gone), Players are coming in who want to play for the club, ( we know this because shackell, bryson, and tyson were all offered more money elsewhere). And may i add that all these players were subject to other accepted offers from other clubs.

Now svens buying up all his old man city buddies, and others, and it could go pear shaped, i have spoke to my mates about this and they tend to agree with me, i think you have some good players anyway, weale, king, dyer, wellens, waghorn. when sven come in he droppred weale and stuck that portugese goalie in?????????. why.

It could upset the squad already there, who had, in the previous season got to the playoffs. Thats why it think the club is being run.....not poorly so to speak, but without due care and as iv'e said, if you don't go up.... :S:S:S

It could go pear-shaped. It could easily go fantastically. He brought in Ricardo at the wrong time, when Weale was in decent form, however Ricardo's errors were nothing compared to Weale's at Forest or at Derby the year before. King and Wellens are good players but Dyer and Waghorn are far too inconsistent.

The squad was already upset when Sven came in. We had five points from nine games and we needed to make changes. Some loan signings were poor, but others such as Naughton, Vitor, Yakubu were impressive.

We needed to spend money to improve the squad and we seem to have done that. We've got a manager with a good reputation in the game and a track record far better than most we could attract, we played some super football last season and with a settled squad and a pre-season we're in better shape for sure.

P.S

Not bullying sven, just think he's a playboy manager ( remember ulrikakakaka), who's done nothing in english league football. FACT.

putting 'FACT' on the end of an opinion doesn't make it a fact. It makes you an idiot.

I reckon leicesterram should take a trip to the BlueMoon Man City forum, and ask them their opinions on Sven. Seen as that is his only previous managerial job in the English leagues, and 99% of them think he did a good job, was unfairly sacked, and would have done much better than Hughes did with the cash he was given.

As for he had the billions, well he didn't, as he was sacked the season before Sheikh Mansour bought the club.

And even if you just go off what he did with us last season, he took a horrendously mismanaged and unconfident squad from bottom of the league to mount a serious challenge for the play offs. This season he's had pre season, his own signings, and I'm pretty sure we'll be right up there.

And Derby's terrifically hard working, club loving, passionate team won't be. Not to mention the fact they're on normal wages, that'll push them right up the league as well.

He doesn't even need to go that far, just go to the Michael Johnson thread.

Nice personal insult chappy :giggle::giggle:

If you look you will find that HE HAS ACHEIVED NOTHING IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL!!!!!! THAT IS A FACT PAL!, if you know better then tell me what he has done?, what promotions, medals, championships has he had????

hmmmm, NONE!!!! and that my friend is why you make yourself look like an idiot, with comments like that mind i'm not suprised, how many of you were calling him after his failings as an england manager, but now he's your manager he's the best thing since slice bread.

Daggers obviously spends more time trawling through other peoples posts rather than posting anything worthwhile himself.

Or he reads and reflects upon what others have written before making an informed reply - not an accusation that will be made about you.

Honestly? Not I. I was a bit embarrassed with the way the FA paid a ton to force him out when it was clear for all to see that our problem was our big players simply not showing up on the day and a few incidences of horrendously poor luck.

EDIT: 2 seconds on wikipedia reveals:

"England manager summary

Eriksson improved England's FIFA World Ranking from 17th place in January 2001 to 5th place in July 2006, reaching 4th during World Cup 2006, and was rated by the FA as England's second most successful Manager after Alf Ramsey.

Under Eriksson, England achieved the highest point percentage in Major Tournament Matches of all time for an England manager,[7] lost only 3 competitive games (excluding extra-time), and achieved top qualifying place in all three International tournaments. Only Brazil matched England's record of reaching the quarter final in tournaments in 2002, 2004 and 2006. Coincidentally, the same manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari, knocked England out of all three of these tournaments, first with Brazil and then twice with Portugal."

I suppose the FA ranking him as England's second greatest manager of all time reeks of failure then, eh? :crylaugh:

He's been a manager in the English league for just under two seasons.

He hasn't got any medals over here, but look at his overall record in different countries.

Slightly better than Non-league Nige.

Well run along then. You've come on here to criticise Sven when clearly he's a little bit better a manager than Nigel flippin' Clough.

I'm sure there's a saying about it, but I can't think of it. It's along the lines of fuck off and sort out your own problems, especially considering they're a lot worse than any of the ones you seem to think we have.

what, so no one can say anything about yer precious sven?.

Anyone can pull bits of info from wiki, but are you telling me that going no further than quater finals with that group of players is anything to shout about, stats mean nothing!!!, Bobby robson got us to the semi's didnt he, now let me ask you, which is better... quaters or semi's?????, i'll give you a little time to work it out.

What problems have we got then?, so we aint pullin up any trees at the mo, but then again neither are you. that im afraid is what teams like us can only expect from now on, sure we'll have our good seasons and we'll also have our bad seasons.

Hopefully you'll have many of these....

Derby's problem is they're not very good. That's all I'll say on the matter, now please go back to your own forum.

no were not at the moment, but we had a spell last season when we would have beat anyone ( we went 4th at one point ), it's just when we sold commons and had a few injuries it all went pear shaped, lack of confidence and all that old pony.

why would you want other fans to sod off back to their own forums?, isn't football all about fans talking to other fans about their clubs?, thats what makes it all fun.

See what i mean, you can't argue with comments like that

no I don't.

How have we not pulled up any trees with our transfer dealing so far this summer?

We've brought in a premiership left-back (Koncheskey), an international right-back & centre-back (Paintsil & St ledger), an ex-international striker (Nugent), a highly rated midfielder (Johnson), the captain of last years p/o final losers (Mills), arguably one of the best keepers outside the prem (Schmiechel), a good championship midfielder (Danns), a highly rated full-back from the lower leagues (Peltier) & Michael Ball.

If that isn't pulling up trees at championship level then what is?

Sometimes yes. But not you, you appear to be quite boring and repetitive, and most of what you've said has either been not true or very silly.

You went 4th then turned up at our place and got turned over.

It went pear-shaped after that.

Your recent seasons are strikingly similar to ours. Relegation from the Premier League then three seasons of struggle. The fourth ended catastrophically for us, it could be the same for you.

I am talking about us both as teams not pulling up any trees!!!!, ya know, playing football, i wasnt talking about who he's signed :blink::blink:

Ok look, your all getting a bit uptight about someone giving an outside opinion of goings on at leicester, like i said most of my friends support you and most are a little nervous, ie if you don;t go up, and let me tell you, it ain't a given that you will go up.

So lets look at your (pulling up trees signings)

Koncheskey?....not bad, but not good enough for prem, last season on loan at forest. so no, not a prem full back or he would be playing in the prem at this stage of his career.

st ledger?..... cb relegated with preston. International cb??? roi, well we have an international midfielder, paul green, roi international....don't make em any good though.

Nugent?..... errr, 1 sub apperance, not exactly something to shout about, carlton palmer played more and he WAS pants.

Johnson?.....not played for 2 years, showed early promise, but who knows wht he'll do, i'll give you he may turn out to be a super signing, but as of yet you can't say he's gonna be a world beater.

Mills?.....good player, only signed for you cos you outbid wolves with a stupid offer 5mill is far to much for a player with 2 prem games under his belt.

Schmiechel?.....not a bad gk, nothing special though.

danns?..... not bad again, nothing special again.

the other two, him from hudd's ive never seen so i will not comment on him as that would be unfair, ball?, who knows not played for a long time but could do well.

I agree you will have the squad to mount a challenge but as i said before, uptill now you have not pulled up any trees in this league....
