Nick Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Rob Kelly appointed as assistant manager SSN How fat is Rob these days?
Guest ttfn Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kelly was/is a good coach with an excellent reputation within the game.. People forget that we were deep in the shit before he took the reins in 2005/6. We ended that season brilliantly In the end it didn't work out due to a variety of factors. Mainly that he wasn't a good manager...
RedHux Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 He joined as first team coach whilst SM was arranging his backroom staff but the failure to lure Calderwood from Hibs and the appointment of Jimmy Floyd as coach means promoting Rob Kelly seems the obvious choice. I really have no strong opinion either way.
sdb Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 He saved us from relegation didn't he? And signed Fryatt for peanuts. Seemed a good guy although wasn't he manager at the start of the...05/06 season when we went to Preston on the 1st day and looked like we hadn't even begun pre-season? That was painful.
accessory Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 It was 06-07 at Luton. Kelly is fondly remembered for the quality players he brought to City - Josh Low being a prime example..
HEGGSY Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Josh Low...God almighty, just shows how far we've come since then I suppose
Soar Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Was that the day chris O'Grady apparently stormed out of the dressing rooms?

That's crazy, and slightly concerning with regards to my memory. I remember NEJ chasing/fouling shadows that day. Urgh.
Fox92 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Didn't he make 4 signings? Low, Johnson, McAuley and another player who I cannot remember at this moment in time. Look how we have moved on now.

Brought Fryatt.

sdb Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Levein(sp?) Brought Fryatt. My memory is seriously going fast
Fox92 Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 Darren Kenton. Thank you! I knew he signed another useless player.
Corky Posted 31 July 2011 Posted 31 July 2011 He joined as first team coach whilst SM was arranging his backroom staff but the failure to lure Calderwood from Hibs and the appointment of Jimmy Floyd as coach means promoting Rob Kelly seems the obvious choice. I really have no strong opinion either way. After every defeat you'll redouble your efforts in training. So following five straight defeats you'll be increasing efforts tenfold. It's reassuring to know when watching thoroughly uninspiring football and results.
Fox92 Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 darren kenton was decent I can recall his scoring a good goal against Norwich City. That is all.
Ric Flair Posted 1 August 2011 Posted 1 August 2011 Luigi Glombard. " We are where we are, we're not going to get ahead of ourselves. Just because we've lost a game, it doesn't mean it's the end, just like if we win a game we're not going to book a trip to New York "
