eye666 Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 Not a goal-scorer. Be nice as an option if we get another striker as others have said but if I'd be worried if he became the focal point of the attack. Has the attributes but no end product I'm afraid. As others are saying though, as a replacement for Howard and on top of another striker then I wouldn't mind,
bluearmyfox23 Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 Think miller would be a very good addition he is basically a younger heskey about to go into his prime fast, powerful, makes space for oters and has an amazing shot on him u could also stick him out right. Would be worried tho if he was are main striker this year !

eye666 Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 ? Think the is because Heskey at a similar age went for £11m. And also scored a hell of a lot more goals.

eye666 Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 I'd still rather have Heskey now than Miller "in his prime" as I still think he'd offer more to the team. Miller hasn't held down a first team place in a few years and doesn't get enough goals. Heskey would still score more goals IMO. But what we're after is that 20 a season striker, and as previously said, would hope that if Miller did come in then we'd also get a finisher.
oxford blue Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 Let Forest have him. £2m we don't need to be spending. Quite agree.Hopefully Forest would be able to offer him regular first team football; I'd hate to think he is meant to be a regular starter here. Put the £2m towards Long - & keep Waghorn! If we're spending money on a striker I think we need to look towards someone who can be successful in the Premiership and the fact WBA want to offload him says a lot

Jimmy2Drags Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 I reckon Sven knows best on this one. :sge: He's managed all 4 (Schmeichel, Johnson, Fernandez & Miller) whilst at Man City and I would assome that all 3 have played/trained together under Sven's watchful eye whilst there. He must know where to play Johnson, Fernandez & Miller to get the best out of them and having played together they SHOULD have some kind of idea what toe expect from each other too. This could be a shrew(d) move on the part of the gaffer....and 2 mills loose change these days anyway guys. I am not on a horse.

Jimmy2Drags Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 still insists on playing vassel out wide where he doesnt do much. Wait a minute....I can see some kind of pattern forming here....are...are we Man City 4 years ago?
poggypogpog Posted 5 August 2011 Posted 5 August 2011 I trust Sven but cannot help but wonder about this one. Are we linked with him because he is good? Or is it because he is simply an ex Man City player? Much better options out there.

Thracian Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 I think he can be a useful box-to-box player and he's left footed... But we want someone consistently useful inside the box. We've got stacks of players who move between em. As for being left-footed, Waghorn's left-footed and that's part of his problem. If he could play with both feet he'd be a much more complete and dangerous footballer.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 6 August 2011 Posted 6 August 2011 Miller is quality. Why would people be against it! Anythings better than what we have ha. Pace power and can finish. Yes please
