Wherethefoxhat? Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 I don't think this would be a terrible signing, he'd be good to have in the squad. Schlupp's a much better bet .......don't need anymore "squad" strrikers
StarFox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Hmmmmm. I say let forest have him. I think we can do better.
Dicko Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 This lad's a good player, i'd be happy with this. Long/Maynard/Keane/Holt won't happen, but Miller would fit in well to lead the line in a 433 formation, as he's got power to hold the ball up, as well as pace to get in behind defenders. Could be a shrewd move this.
The Doctor Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 When I first saw his tally of appearances I thought that referred to his goals. In fact he seems to have scored 16 goals in 7 seasons and 97 appearances. Either Sven knows a scientist who's going to convert him into Wonder Boy overnight or I'm wondering if we might as well have signed Much the Miller's Son from the Sherwood Foresters. I presume Sven's a fan of Ishmael from his Manchester City days but surely such a meagre return in such a long time can't all be down to bad luck. We want 16 goals plus per season not in the seven years it supposedly takes to get pissed off with being married! In Sven we Trust, of course but I hope some of you lot (perhaps Babs or Finners) will defend our manager and convince me that the Wiki stats are really just a contrived character assassination posted by the Tories and that, Ishmael will really have a whale of a time scoring goals for fun! http://en.wikipedia..../Ishmael_Miller Those stats, like all stats, don't paint the full picture. They don't show how many of those appearances were sub appearances, how long he spent on the pitch in any substitute appearances, what sort of team he was playing in etc. You could have a brilliant goal-scorer but if he's only playing 10-15 minutes at the end of the match in a team providing little service, he'll have a poor goal scoring record. Miller is pacey & powerful & I see no reason why, if he were to get a consistent run in the side, he should not reach 15-20 goals for a season.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 could u imagine if we sold Howard and waghorn for about 2m combined fee and then signed long - Jong and miller tht would be amazing !
StarFox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 You could have a brilliant goal-scorer but if he's only playing 10-15 minutes at the end of the match in a team providing little service, he'll have a poor goal scoring record. No deal, no deal!!!! We already have a striker like that and his name is Waghorn.
Clazie Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Fourth_Official are apologising? Yet another twist in STRIKERGATE.
Rusko187 Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Fourth_Official are apologising? Yet another twist in STRIKERGATE. Ahh this is getting depressing, quick sign Ched Evans!
Happy Fox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Fourth_Official are apologising? Yet another twist in STRIKERGATE. What for?
Pookie Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Ishmael Miller has played a total of 109 league games for Man City, WBA & QPR, out of those games he started on the bench 53 times While on loan at QPR he started just 4 times out of 12 appearances. I hope we don't go for him.
Clazie Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 What for? Don't really know, just used it as a way of posting 'STRIKERGATE' on here again. It isn't catching on as much as I hoped it would...
escos Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Fourth_Official are apologising? Yet another twist in STRIKERGATE. He was apologising to rangers fans about kenny miller!

Leicester_Loyal Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Right I may get shot down but would anyone consider David N Gog for 4.5m that is his asking price Terrible striker, absolutely terrible.
escos Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Right I may get shot down but would anyone consider David N Gog for 4.5m that is his asking price I would imagine he would believe he is too good to drop down, however he would be very good in this league.
Joe. Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2022579/Miller-departs-Fulop-arrives-West-Brom-accept-bids-striker-keeper-arrives-cover.html? Mail say bids accepted for him too. Awful paper, though.
Lisburn Fox Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 Not for me to be honest don't really rate the guy...
Callabinho Posted 4 August 2011 Posted 4 August 2011 He is on the list but no bid has been made, Long is for now svens number one target, and the last number one target was Mat Mills and we got him!
