SCHLUPP THE CITY!

Schlupp should be given an extended run starting Saturday. We know he has potential and tonight he has given us further evidence of that.

We have a strong set-up and he will get excellent support from the others. There is no better way of learning than 'hands-on' (or should it be 'feet-on') experience. Give him that experience.

Why spend millions of £'s when you've got a raw talent like him on your books?

We have an excellent Academy. We should show faith in the Academy.

Why develop players only for them to go elsewhere?

He could be - No, he WILL be the find of the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sigh.

Sorry, yes he's a fantastic prospect, but he's not ready to make the step up. Drop him in the deep end too soon and it could ruin him. He needs to be spoon fed first team experiences to get his confidence up.

Don't be boring. Schlupp has something that no other striker has in our squad right now and that is confidence. That probably makes him the striker with the most potential to score at the weekend.

Plus if we waited then he may never get a better opportunity to make a good impression again, especially with all these rumours of bringing in a new striker and all.

I don't think our academy is THAT good... We haven't produce anyone that's made it big since.... Heskey?

Agree 100%.

I'd sign another striker still.

3 goals and 3 threads about him hes had some night, wherever he is the missing link/striker in this potential promotion winning leicester team? will not be convinced myself until he proves himself against top championship competition, wouldnt be suprised to see him feature against reading or bristol though

We're all football managers that know the players at our club and see them every day lalalalalalalalala.

(we're not really)

Saw him loads in the youth team and he always drifted in and out of games with the occasional explosive burst but he's really bulked up by the look of the highlights tonight. Took his goals well, deserves a spot on the bench for sure. Money or no money, we don't want another Gradel situation.

Shouldn't rush him, or let it go to his head. Should be in Saturdays 16, no more...yet. Fingers crossed, but I remember waxing lyrical about Matt Piper, Tommy Wright (the 2nd), Mattock, Stevenson and other players that have gone on to do f-all!

The problem for Sven is he needs success now. I very much doubt he will be staking his reputation on an 18 year old academy graduate however promising.

It is a shame and I hope he is given a chance, however a Maynard type is still needed I think.

I would like to see him come on after say 60 mins on Sat.

Reading could well prove to be one of the strongest teams we face this season, even without Long and Mills!

So let him savour the atmosphere, get the adrenalin flowing and then let's give him a fantastic ovation when he comes on!

Oi Pete, I'm not saying they're a walk in the park, but don't overestimate Reading either:

a) Mills plays for us now thumbsup.gif

b) Long's made it to the Premier League and he was their best striker last season

c) If you believe Reading are good, wait until you've seen Ipswich, West Ham, Blackpool, Southampton or Brighton... They're the ones I fear most.

As for Schlupp playing on Saturday, I don't know.

I'd rather give him more playing time in cup competitions. That'd do him much more good than sitting on the bench in a league game for most part.

A***! I know Mills plays for us but he has been known to score goals for the opposition - so the rumour goes! Nevertheless, Reading are still a force to be reckoned with.

Still, we always agree to disagree don't we?

I take it you will be there on Saturday?

We'll be there about 1-45pm.

Whether he's ready or not, the one thing I liked about him on the replays tonight was his finishing. He was clinical. The header for the second was so well placed into the corner from a slow cross, that was deadly finishing. The first was excellent composure & a sublime finish, the 3rd was opportunistic he was miles ahead of their defender.

All round. Impressed.
