shen Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Just a quick question? Has Wenger ever bought an English/British player over 18 years old? Quick answer: Yes, he has.
shen Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 And in other transfer news, Arsène is going after another non-English wunderkid: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14692916.stm He just loves his foreigners, doesn't he? I can already imagine Wenger's statement (in true arsenalisation fashion): "Park is a great talent, I've seen him play and there is something very special about him." At 26 he's not exactly a wonderkid. Oxlade-Chamberlain on the other hand....
Matt Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Hoping for a field day in this thread this afternoon. C'mon United.
Jimothy Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Name? Francis Jeffers and Richard Wright srping to mind straight away.
Phube Posted 28 August 2011 Author Posted 28 August 2011 Sol Campbell for one... want more? Francis Jeffers and Richard Wright srping to mind straight away. Okay so he went crazy in 2001... any more?
Matt Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Get in there United! Classy defending Arsenal, Classy.
Raw Dykes Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Did you see that Arse anal? That was liquid football! Great! Penalty kick to equalise! Oh, no. You had it saved by a rubbish kid in goal, and then Young scored an absolute beauty. To the tune of Craig David's Re-rewind: "Van Per sie... If a girl says no, molest her." Is it the end of the road for the Goon-arse?
shen Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Okay so he went crazy in 2001... any more? Matthew Upson, John Lukic and guess what? One's actually playing right now
Guest shearfox Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Is it me that who just thinks Walcott will be the next Henry for Arsenal?
Phube Posted 28 August 2011 Author Posted 28 August 2011 Matthew Upson, John Lukic and guess what? One's actually playing right now Upson 18, Lukic a re-sign from the past. And if you mean Walcott he was 12!
Guest shearfox Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 I feel sorry for Wenger, he needs to invest in experienced players. Starting with Cahill their defence looks terrible.
Matt Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 I feel sorry for Wenger, he needs to invest in experienced players. Starting with Cahill their defence looks terrible. He's been given money this summer, so I was led to believe. Only got himself to blame.
shen Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Upson 18, Lukic a re-sign from the past. And if you mean Walcott he was 12! No, I mean Jenkinson
Phube Posted 28 August 2011 Author Posted 28 August 2011 No, I mean Jenkinson Finnish! According to BBC!
Matt Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Theo Walcott first Englishman to score past Man Utd for Arsenal since 1998.
shen Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 He's been given money this summer, so I was led to believe. Only got himself to blame. They've certainly been slow to do business this year, I'll give you that. If they've known Fabregas and Nasri were off, why weren't they better prepared? They've also not got rid of the likes of Bendtner, Almunia etc. which must surely be down to them being too expensive They've been looking to reinforce their central defense for some time now, yet nothing's come of it. Don't know who's to blame for it all, but ultimately fingers will be pointed at Wenger.
shen Posted 28 August 2011 Posted 28 August 2011 Finnish! According to BBC! And English. Represented both nations at youth level. Just admit when you're wrong and move on, will you?
Phube Posted 28 August 2011 Author Posted 28 August 2011 And English. Represented both nations at youth level. Just admit when you're wrong and move on, will you? How can I be wrong when asking a question... I genuinely didn't know the answer!?!? So the answer is since 2001 he hasn't purchased an over 20 British player!
