How do you know this?

Obviously I don't know for sure, and i'm just going off paper talk which arguably doesn't mean its true but from what i've read and am led to believe he's been given plenty of money to spend this summer but hasn't.

Neither of us have facts but you're not telling me he hasn't been give sufficient funds to replace Fabregas and Nasri for starters and other players that he needs? Obviously they have only just gone but Fabregas going has been on the cards for a good 18 months, did they not look into replacements?

I was just guessing but if Wenger was allowed to spend big he would of got Cahill from day 1!

And Arsenal fan (Who arguably knows nothing apart from whats on the internet or in papers) tole me the case with Cahill was Wenger offered around £5 -6m, Bolton have rejected it as derisory and Wenger's response has basically been well he's got a year left on his contract and i'm not offering anymore.

Now the case could be as you say the board won't allow the funds but looking at Wenger's past and record with spending money - the fact that he doesn't to me suggests it is Wenger being stubborn, as usual. He may go and up the bid now, he's desperate.

Instead of whether Arsénal can reach the Champions League places... The big question is...

Can they avoid RELEGATION!?

Cahill and/or Jagielka might strengthen them in the league. But Wenger suspects they'd be found out big-time in Europe, hence is reluctant to spend over the odds on them.

A whisper today suggested he was in talks with Villa to buy Richard Dunne. If that was true, he should not only be sacked, but sectioned!

Life is looking bleak for Con. Gaddafi. His country is in turmoil, and he supports Arsenal. :(

I said at the start of the season that Arsenal would not qualify for the Champions League and would have to settle for the Europa League. After watching that, I'm not so sure that's within their capabilities.

They were absolutely embarrassingly over-run by an admittedly very good Manchester United side. Defensively calamitous, indisciplined and lightweight. Surely now, Arsene Wenger's time at Arsenal is nearing its end. They won't qualify for the CL and the Europa League may be beyond them unless they manage to win their first trophy in years. He should leave now before potential successors see the job as a hiding to nothing.

arsenal will deffo finish in top ten this season

And what makes you say that!?

They've still got some quality in the side. Sagna, Szczesny, Wilshere, Walcott, Van Persie, Song and Arshavin (when on form). But you're right, there's nothing but a couple of unconvincing wins over Udinese that suggests they'll easily walk into the top 10. It's a bit early to write them off as well based on this result though. It'll be interesting to see how Wenger picks his team and himself up after this. Or even how much confidence the board have in him if this continues...

Oh dear...

The only people who will be offended by this are the overly PC types who just like being offended. It's a weird thing to say sure but I hope he doesn't get in trouble for it, I say this as a Jew btw.

Cascarino's comparison an absurd use of hyperbole and shows a total lack of perspective.

Yesterday's result may have left gooners feeling ashamed, even humiliated, but it didn't kill them.

If Sky could sack Rodney Marsh (a far better pundit than Cascarino will ever be) for an ill-judged remark about a tsunami, then I can't see them being too lenient with Cascarino.

It may be some time before he returns to their studio..

PS The Holocaust didn't only kill Jews - trade unionists, homosexuals, disabled people and the mentally ill were all slaughtered by the Nazis too.

I agree.

People should stop looking for an excuse to take offence, there is far more to be worried about than some ex footballer's ignorant comment.

In general Arsenal fans still believe in Wenger.

Why?

Because he is the most successful manger ever.

In addition his financial dealings have left Arsenal in a stronger position than any of their rivals.

Manure... massive debts

Victimpool... massive debts

Man shitty... massive outlay with no rationality.

Chelsea.... see shitty

Barca... Massive debts

Real... massive debts

Whilst I agree Wenger needs to spend a little to add some premier league experience to his squad if Arsenal got shot of him any new incoming coach would want a large war chest to re build the squad.

A few decent experienced signings along with Wenger's abilities with the kids should see them right again.

Which doesn't make his comment an ounce more appropriate. Personally I just find it a weird and ill-advised expression.
