Jay Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 I don't think legally they had any right to issue a 2game ban for what in the law books is a yellow card offence, I would imagine as Arsenal appealed the lawyers said that the decision to ban Eduardo had no legal grounds and they had to back down
Ultra Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Not for the first time, Wenger and co are showing appalling hypocrisy. They squeal when Adebayor winds up their fans, yet are delighted when Eduardo does the same to Celtic's..
Alexikokopops Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 I'm glad UEFA have done the right thing and overturned the ban. It was a horror challenge from Boruc. You can see the hate in his eyes EDUAAAAAAAAAAARDO, EDUAAAAAAAAAAAARDO
Bert Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Eduardo Ban OverturnedMakes a mockery of everything. What's the point of handing out the ban in the first place for it to be overturned? Ridiculous. Only just found out about this and in bold are my thoughts exactly. Annoying.
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Don't necessarily strictly disagree with Matt's point about Shearer/Lennon and Adebayor/Van Persie and I think - yeah - a lot of the problem with the Lennon issue is that Leicester are an uninfluencial and unfashionable club. But a bigger factor really is that TV replays are everywhere these days, every bit of drama gets shown over and over and over and over again. It's much easier to see something, broadcast it and whip up outrage now than it was back then.

Finnegan Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 I'm not listening to what you say until you change your avatar to Jack Collison. But he sort of... well... he kind of is English.
lildave3 Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 But he sort of... well... he kind of is English. But much better.
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 But much better. In the same way that dirt is better than cake?
lildave3 Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 In the same way that dirt is better than cake? In some ways. Collison is quality though.
Finnegan Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 In some ways.Collison is quality though. Yah I like him, was gutted watching him pick up that injury. Didn't look all too pleasant! Ramsey's a different class, though, it's an unfair comparison.
StanSP Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Why did the ban get overturned? I think it was to do that there was actually a little contact between Eduardo and Boruc. Also I think the referee and referee's assistant and Arsenal could show that the referee wasn't deceived from where he was standing.
leicesterfox86 Posted 15 September 2009 Posted 15 September 2009 Eduardo Ban OverturnedMakes a mockery of everything. What's the point of handing out the ban in the first place for it to be overturned? Ridiculous. 100% agree. It was a harsh punishment, but at least they set a precident for diving. Now they have shown how weak they really are.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Makes me laugh how this thread hasn't been used for awhile now Arsenal flying now and should go back second. The title this season is between the real big guns Man Utd Arsenal. Arsenal have only lost twice but to two teams who are titles rivals. Liverpool and Chelsea are flopping, also Man Utd could finish Liverpool off all together next week. Good to be a gooner again
Fosse Boy Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 No one is forcing you to follow Leicester and in my opinion you're not a real City fan anyway. Good to be a gooner again Erm...
Uncle Albert Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Hugo has a love for Arsenal like I do Liverpool and like you do for German football. Simples.
Budweiser Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 German football is shit. Kidding Arsenal are a disgrace. Foreign shitheads.
Budweiser Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Correct it is. I was joking, I was gunna wind him up, but I thought better of it. It's not too bad, there are a few good games. Nothing compared to Ajax vs Psv a couple of months back though, stunning.
Fosse Boy Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Hugo has a love for Arsenal like I do Liverpool and like you do for German football. Simples. Yeah, but it takes the biscuit a little when he's saying stuff like I'm not a real City fan, then he goes on to proclaim his undying love for another English side in a different thread. Anyway I'm not sure why I'm suddenly being touted as this huge lover of German football. I like the Bundesliga and St. Pauli but I don't follow it massively.
Tilley Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Arsenal are quietly going about their business and seeing off teams they probably would have struggled to beat last season. Think they'll be fucked if RVP, Fabregas, Arshavin etc pick up injuries/suspensions.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Anyway I'm not sure why I'm suddenly being touted as this huge lover of German football. I like the Bundesliga and St. Pauli but I don't follow it massively. Therefore Hugo likes Arsenal like you do with that German team. Just the same.
Fosse Boy Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Therefore Hugo likes Arsenal like you do with that German team. Just the same. I would consider it slightly different as they play in England too, but oh well, live and let live etc.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 I would consider it slightly different as they play in England too, but oh well, live and let live etc. I would also consider that Arsenal are in a different league to Leicester but oh well.
