GelsonFernandes Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Alot of people commented on how good Gelson's performance was against Cov but after looking through people's player ratings of him today i feel he's been overlooked by alot of fans today who have been concentrating on Matt Mills poor display or Bamba's cocky/confidentness to dribble his way out of the box, Anyway i thought Fernandes was better today than against Cov he was always moving and running back to make tackles also he always wants the ball and i bet if you could see the stats he must of touched the ball more than anybody on the pitch, his passing is also qualtity he doesnt do a wellens and try a 40 yard lofted ball for every pass, if it was not for him today i feel we could of lost by alot more, and his leadership on the pitch is second to none and best of all he's only 24. BUT tbf i can see him getting a few cards this year as in both games he's played for us so far he's squared up to at least 2 of the oppistion players.

He was everywhere, unfortunately today, Abe looked tired, but if he were to play in a fit midfield we'll be absolutely class. One thing he also does is pass the ball and dart to find space, nobody else does that for us! Quality midfielder! Also looking forward to seeing Michael Johnson fully fit, he's supposed to be massively better than Fernandes, so with him in the team we should dominate everyone!

kingfox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Quality player could of attacked more but love the way he attacks and passes the ball, along with Bamba in my ratings I would say he was our best player today by far. Didn't put a foot wrong only recorded about 2 loose passes rest were honestly perfect.

Abe and Wellens are both great in their own regard as fighters and feisty players, but if we want to push further, they're too defensive-minded and not the long-term answer.
Bezzanator89 Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 He was good again today, one of about 3 players who looked like they cared, the others being Bamba and definitely Schmeichel. Looks a quality signing, be it only on loan, but a good signing nonetheless, tried to get the ball, got decent tackles in, played good passes, shame people around weren't as "on the ball". Yuki looked half asleep, but maybe that's what jet-lag from a game in Japan does to you, bad selection there Sven..

A fit Micheal Johnson would have been ideal yesterday, he obviously isn't 100%, otherwise Sven would have started him.
