We're not buying the league - Neville

Who cares if we are though, must needs emphasized by the Thais that promotion is a must this season (preferably automatic), we needed to significantly improve our team to compete and endure throughout this slog of the season. So we had to spend the amount imo.

Don't see why he feels he has to apologise for anything , because that's what it sounds like . As Oscar Wilde said " the only thing worse than being talked about is NOT being talked about " Would we rather be all noble and skint and spend next to nothing like Everton or say Feck you we will do whatever it takes to get into the premiership and we don't care what the other losers think ? I know which alternative i'm going with .

Really annoys me that Crawley are being bummed by everyone from coming up from non league..but they are just doing the same as us.

Are they? everthing I read about them seems negative and they seem genuinely hated by other fans.

Beat me to it, I know fans of Newport, Gateshead and Luton and they all absolutely despise Crawley Town for there financial muscle last year.

And what they all gonna say in jan when we spend another 10mill.

If we are serious about going up we have to be serious about staying up.

More money will be spent if we are close.

you can't stand still and need a strong squad to take up.

i can see our spending if we go up (fingers crossed) total about 40mill by kick off nxt season.

And personally i don't give a **** what anyone say's about us.

Come may laffin ya bollocks off with tears of joy cos we have gone up.

and if we don't as long as we gave it our best i still don't care.

And you think all the knockers would not trade a right arm to be in our position.

Most would trade both fvcking arms.

Oh fair enough, whenever they have come up in pub chats the trend seems to be that people are rooting for them, I guess it could be down to the fact that they arnt effecting anyone in the top 2 leagues and people like the idea of a rise from the bottom.

So wait a minute. What does 'buying the league' actually mean? Because in my book it means spending an enormous amount of money at a football club in the hope of achieving immediate (or very quick) success...which is surely what we're trying to do.

We're not buying the league. Yes we're spending a fairly substantial amount on players for a Championship club but that guarantees nothing. At the end of the day it's still 11 vs 11, and if our 11 are out played, out thought and out skilled by the opposition's 11 on enough occasions then we won't be promoted. Simple.

The thing that gets me about other fans slagging off our new found wealth is that we're treated with disdain as if we've just luckily had this money lavished upon us. We haven't, and it isn't luck. The Thais didn't draw a name out of a hat, pick us as the club to buy because they like the colour blue or anything like that. They bought us because we're a good investment opportunity. We have the facilities, the history and the fan base to present a good investment opportunity. And all of that is earned.

We didn't get our facilities for free, as a club years of hard work and investment went into acquiring them. Our fan base didn't appear from nowhere, we had years of good, loyal support turning out to watch Leicester at the lowest of times in good numbers. We didn't get a reputation as one of the bigger clubs in England through small success, it came from long-term, consistent achievement at the highest levels of English football.

The latest Thai investment wouldn't have come without the history, the facilities and fan base. All of that has been earned throughout the generations of LCFC as a club. Now is (hopefully) the reward. A time when we can be the ones spending the money, the ones expecting to achieve, the ones stamping our authority on English football. So it's time to enjoy it regardless of what anyone else says.

It may not end as well as we might like or anticipate but **** it, I've seen enough dross and had enough disappointment over the years that, whilst it's here now, I'm going to embrace it and not give one iota what anyone else thinks.

If we have the money to spend however the club likes, then why not put it to some good use?

If all these jealous clubs had the money they wouldn't be complaining, and I think its about time we stood up for ourselves.

Got pretty sick of reading all these silly articles, especially calling us 'Man City in disguise' :/
