21st Century Fox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 I read the article on the match in The Express (I didn't buy it, it was in a coffee shop ) they said something like it was a surprise let off for Sven and then they also commented on our new striker Jason Beckford.

Hehe Jason Beckford....
One Arm Babba Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 22 shots from us and 7 from Brighton paints a different picture on their own match report.
Corky Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 You`re getting a complex boys. Ooh the BBC are giving more attention to the team that topped the league at 3 yesterday than they are to us. Ooh they hate us. What a whinging bunch you lot have turned out to be. No, we're just annoyed that the wrong perception of the game was shown and described on the television. It's nothing about the attention.
orod Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 They called Abe Arabian as well . . . Enough said
CKB Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 The BBC coverage of us is shocking, i really don't think they like us? well that's another one added to the list then! Also i have to say we may aswell change our name to Big Spending Leicester City because that is only what i hear nowadays from all channels i may add!
accessory Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Claridge is a City legend & one of my favourite City players, but what makes him such an expert in football management? He really gets my back up, criticising Sven & City. He says that Sven is the wrong man in the job at City, & that he should bring in players that will form an effective team, not just bringing them in 'cos they are Premier players etc. He doesn't have a good word to say about Sven or City, but the funny thing is, I don't remember him being a great success in football management! He soon got found out that he was blody useless! Keep it shut Steve & I have a feeling that you may have to eat your words! In Sven we trust! And as has been said many times before, but needs repeating for the benefit of the zombies who frequent this forum, Claridge has a record of achievement for our club. Sven doesn't. When that changes, that might be the time to dismiss whatever he says or writes about Sven.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 What does Claridge's time as a player here have to do with his ability as a pundit, again?
Houdini Logic Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 To be fair it's not the BBC, it's this crap show. If they even just read their own match reports they'd understand more about what went on - much more accurate IMO http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14864133.stm Brighton were knocked off the top of the Championship after Leicester ended their unbeaten start to the season. The Foxes dominated the first half with Andy King and Sol Bamba being denied by Seagulls keeper Casper Ankergren. And just 45 seconds after the break Yuki Abe powered in a header from Darius Vassell's left-wing cross. Brighton's Craig Mackail-Smith volleyed over from three yards but Marcos Painter was sent off late on to all but end their hopes of salvaging a point. Leicester were good value for their win though with pacy duo Vassell and Jermaine Beckford causing havoc up front. And as Brighton pushed for an equaliser, they left gaps at the back which Beckford almost exploited. He broke and found Gelson Fernandes but the Swiss midfielder's shot cleared the crossbar. Ryan Harley had two goalbound efforts blocked by Lee Peltier and Matt Mills as the visitors continued to venture forward. But their adventure was checked when Painter was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card for a blatant handball with 10 minutes of the match remaining.
blueredswed Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Have just read Mail on Line (Times) and something good stuff there if someone can help me to point on this article about Sven-O´Neil so please help meee :scarf:
acooling08 Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 To be fair, the extended coverage on the BBC (here) is a lot more representative of how much better we were.

Ilkeston_Fox Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I tend not to listen to the chit chat and just fast forward through it. I can't stand it.
josh_baskin Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Just the usual southern connection thing with the bbc! See how excited they all were on MOTD with the QPR result at wolves!
blueredswed Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 QPR is a crap! welcome back too championsleague but wee äre not here.... :scarf:
Ford Super Sunday Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 As much as I can't defend the absolute shitness of the BBC voice over report of our game. I think some people should be careful of critisising the BBC so much for the FLS, yet again. You do realise that there is a distinct possibility that there may be NO football league highlights on terrestrial TV next season. When the Football League contract was negotiated earlier this year, Sky won the lot, with no one bidding on the highlights. It has been mooted that the FL has even offered the highlights to the BBC for free, and they've rejected it. Why? Well, as part of the contract, the BBC are required to send cameras and cameramen to film every non live Football League and Carling Cup. This amounts to over £1m a year in costs, which is made even less attractive when you consider that Sky get all rights to that filming, and get to show it before the BBC do on SSN. So rip into the BBC at your peril, but at least we have a highlights show.

One of the consequences is that some of next year's Formula 1 grand prix will be moved to Sky for live transmission. Another is the withdrawal of bids for screening rights for live lower league games, which will now be exclusively on Sky (as they were before 2009). Maybe Channel 4 or Five will show an interest in screening highlights...

The contracts for things like the F1 and Championship games in 2007/08 when they were gearing up for the Beijing Olympics. You'd hope they at least did some simple forecasting along the lines of "these two contracts will run up to/beyond the next Olympics. We show the Olympics. We need the money to cover them both", before the license fee freeze caused a bit of trouble. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if they'd just ploughed on regardless.

You'd need one of those ex-pat guard things to be able to watch it abroad.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 It's definitely better than 'The Championship'!
Socks Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 We were only on second because we were playing "big boys" Brighton if we were playing donny or someone as shite as that we would have been on last i only watch to the city part then i turn off at least i got to watch the derby beat the red scum...heh heh heh thats made my month.....
lcfc81 Posted 20 September 2011 Posted 20 September 2011 Did you watch the Fooball Leafue Show last night? "Leicester faced a wave of attacks from Brighton but the defence held tight" (or something like that). I hate to moan but do these people actually go to the games? We were never even in trouble. We comfortably beat the "best team in the league". Anyway, I need to eat my bacon sandwich so I'll go away now just really annoyed. Rumble X I'm sure they have changed the commentary on this http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14966660.stm I also thought it said something along the lines of the above, (or maybe I'm imagining things!)
