Corky Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I've said before that he's at his best when we're closing out games, he can slow the play down and doesn't need to play the ambitious passes. When the issue needs to be forced he doesn't seem anywhere near as comfortable. Bench at Boro.

ousefox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Wellens was poor today but not that bad. Fernandes easily had a worse game, Abe didn't do too much and Beckford hardly touched the ball. Wellens is easily our best midfielder and our cleverest too, suprised so many people can't see that.

Thankfully it looks like Johnson is hot on the heels of somebody in the team, although I can't help but feel it'll be Abe. Danns too. I'd like to see Fernandes, Johnson, Danns and King together next game. Wellens has had enough opportunities to do something.

I'm not, I'm positive we're moving forward, albeit slower than we might like. Wellens is the weakest link though currently, hence my disgust.
