shen Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I would love him to be tested with international allegeince, as to whther he would don the England keepers shirt if approached? I believe he does qualify to play for England, as so far he has only played at U21 level for Denmark. He's said on several occasions that he wants to represent Denmark, and he was called up quite recently as well. With Sørensen presumably quitting the NT after the Euros, the place will be up for grabs.
The_Golden_Gunman Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Just echoing the other comments on here. Kasper is a first-class act and already looks to be the best bit of business anyone has done in the Championship this season. It comes as no surprise that our back 4 have sharpened up so much since his arrival, and compared to Ricardo and Weale, it's almost embarrassing to think that any keeper other than him has even been considered to play between the sticks for the club. His displays this season already make me think that he is capable of playing in the Premiership. I just hopes he does so with us!
martyn Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Kasper is the sole reason id have Howard on the bench. Those kicks could help nick us some points if we're struggling with 10-15 mins to go.
cc_star Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I really think he could be an all time great. He's commanding, the defence is confident in him which makes the defence confident itself, he's got the best role model/mentor a keeper could ever hope to have in his Dad. He really could be 10-12pts a season difference that Fergie always said of Peter Schmeichel & Mourinho said of Chech, of course he's not as good as those two yet, but neither is our opposition so it is comparable.
BrummieFOX Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 i think he would get into any prem side already the was he has started for us. Bolton could have defiantly used him earlier on i also loved our teams desire to keep the clean sheet near the end of the game. Yea, I re-watched the game on Sky and saw this, though missed it during the game. Mills was throwing himself around our area like a madman, then when we finally cleared it, smashed the ground with his fist and him and Kasper looked as though they were buzzing off it! Both looked as though they would have been VERY pissed off had we let a goal in, despite being 4-0 up. Great to see!
MrAus Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 1 of the blokes at work said he has it on good authority that Manchester United are keeping an eye on him ! Could be all Blahhh Blahhh but who knows, hes certainly doing the business for us !

Could be all Blahhh Blahhh but who knows, hes certainly doing the business for us ! Maybe. Not sure if they would be because both of the main two goalkeepers at Old Trafford are young and decent, maybe it is just a lazy rumour because of the Schmeichel link. Top goalkeeper at this level though is Kasper, he certainly proved me wrong.
Ambitious Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Like Father Like Son With Kasper between the posts We could have the league Won
TheStig Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 Quite funny actually. In Denmark there is a lot of discussion on who should replace Thomas Sørensen. They are all raving about Anders Lindegaard of MUFC but he plays only every second game and is very often injured - must be the strain of playing two in a row... Anyway in my books Kasper should follow in the footsteps of his father and become national goalkeeper (DK) No. 1. He plays every week, is in superform (4 clean sheets in 4) and is clearly the bargain of the year for City.

BruinFox Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Has any one else noticed the intensity that he warms up pre game ? I was a bit concerned that he could get injured given the ferocity of the warm up shots from coach. He also does a warm up where he starts with his back to the coach then the coach says go - he turns around and tries to react to the shot. Quite amazing. Clearly for me he has a ton of talent and the intensity to back it up.

I think Kasper signing for us was not only a real coup for Leicester but absolutely the right move for kasper himself. Also it says a lot about Sven as a manager that players are willing to sign for him multiple times.
Pub breath Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Leeds fans said Gradel was shit when he left, a few but still. There deluded. Schmeichel > Lonergan. Just bobbed on to see how the little fella is getting on down there, good noises have been heard from down the M1. It doesn't come as any kind of surprise that he's doing well there, for the first few months at ER, we thought we had a world-beater. He was saving everything and although his command of the box was never great, he made up for it by making world-class saves instead. We loved him, even if we knew his time with us was likely to be fleeting. What happened next, though, was one of the most inexplicable things I've seen in football. He just became really, really average with patches of terribly bad and tastings of the occasional utterly shambolic. The clangers that were never there before, suddenly appeared. The great saves peculiarly dried up and goals began to fly in that not too many other keepers would save but goals that he would have prevented earlier in the season. I can't rightly explain what happened but by the season's end, most Leeds fans were getting pretty disgruntled with him. Andy Lonergan has been immense for us this season, just like Kasper was at the start of last, the only sizeable difference being that he has the box command that KS doesn't/didn't but the world class saves to go with it. How he isn't playing in the Premiership is beyond me, he has every attribute needed to be a top flight keeper. If you ask me to choose between the Schmeichel we had this time last year against the Lonergan we have now, it's a tough one and impossible to objectively decide. Ask me to decide between AL and the KS we had at the end of last season, I wouldn't need to think for a micro second, Lonergan every way. We can only hope he doesn't suffer a similar weird reversal in ability that Kasper did. For what it's worth, I think what happened with Schmeicel may just be an age/development issue. A growing pain. He is young and very much learning his trade still. I'm not bitter about his exit one bit. We got a little bit of cash but as good as or if not better keeper in exchange. You guys are happy with Kasper so I think it's one of those very rare moments in football where everyone seems to have ended up a winner in the deal. As for Gradel, I haven't the slightest idea what you are on about. I haven't seen a single Leeds fan on a messageboard or heard one at Elland Road be anything other than gutted he went. The lad is a real class act, we have both missed out there.

I would just like to say most 'keepers do that sort of thing, it works on the reactions and builds up the strength of the wrists for that sort of thing in a match situation.

Narborough_fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Kasper is the only player who earned any respect off me today. He seemed to be the only player who cared and willed us to get forward. Any player who puts that much passion in despite being 3-0 down deserves a hell of an applause. So Kasper if you do read this, give yourself a pat on the back and keep your head held high.
Corky Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Agreed, seemed to be the only one with any urgency.
lcfcliam Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I actually felt sorry for Kasper today he was the only one who actually seemed to care, i recall one point towards the end where he was screaming and wailing his arms to the players to push forward and NOT ONE player moved for him.
Novas Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Cannot for the life of me understand the criticism he got from Leeds and the willingness to let him go for next to nothing. Although, I suppose having Kisnorbo and the like in front of you would make any keeper look shaky. That's because Kaspers agent informed the club he had no intention of signing a new contract after his 2 years were up, and all in all was a very average keeper, although a good shot stopper. Kasper clearly wanted to play Premier league football and was only using Leeds to reach this goal, he fully intended to leave Leeds after his contract was up on a free and join a Premier league side, why keep a Keeper who has no commitment to your club? Obviously joining Leicester was likely plan B for Kasper, the money was good and he obviously believes Sven can give him Premier league football. Kasper obviously has respect/a relationship with Sven and values him as a manager, thus what obviously influenced his decision to sign for Leicester(Besides being forced out) But make no mistake, the reason above is the reason why he was sold, he was simply sold because he had no commitment to Leeds, and Bates thought he would make a million towards his new hotel plans. Despite Kaspers lack of commitment to staying at Leeds long term, the way he was treated by Bates/Grayson was disgusting, they forced the guy out and told him if he didnt leave he would get no first team Football and would simply be a bench warmer, although he let in a ton of goals(Our defense is shit and still is) thats no way to treat a player, he did his best whilst he was with us, ambitions aside, he didnt deserve to be treated like shit by the management and forced out, the least they could of done is said thanks for your service, we no longer need you, Goodbye, instead they were nasty. All for 1 fking million we'l never see.
