Guest Col city fan Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 With all due respect, WHY would Adkins leave the saints for us right now? Seriously.. Because we have considerable financial backing and a squad that most championship managers would give their right arm for. We probably have more money to spend both on transfers and to pay loanees. A bloke like Adkins would know that if he could get it right here, we could become a bigger club than Southampton and there's the challenge. Oh, and I did also say, make him an offer he couldn't refuse.. IF the money is there ( and if im honest I really dont know) then we could get him in and pay the compensation. I think it would be worth it as I rate him very highly. I see no reason for this to be pie in the sky. If it was done properly.
Bayfox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Any one who suggested Roy Keane may want to dig a little deeper into his time at ipswich, he spent all the money they had, left them with a massive wage bill (see peter taylor) scrapped the junior teams up until the age of 17, what a way to develop talent, oh and was paid nearly as much per season as Fergie.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Give it until Christmas or the end of the season with Sven and the see
jamesmilner Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 anyone but sven . when something is wrong its wrong , you just cant get away from that .
LcFc_Smiv Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Don't know if it's been mentioned but I saw on my facebook feed today the following: Bentley's Roof Fan Page #LCFC we're hearing strong rumours that #OwenCoyle is being lined up for the managers job. Would he be the right man for the job? I know there's no proof of substance to this at all, just thought I'd throw it in there.
m00nie Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Itkagent1962 ... Sven on his way from #LCFC ..Maybe oooerrr
lcfc12 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Hi guys I'm a new poster, don't shoot the messanger as I hope it isn't true that Sven's gone but apparently through word of mouth from a friend Gianluca Vialli was watching our match against Watford last week. could this rumour have any meaning people? I hope not
Earlydoorsjones Posted 27 October 2011 Posted 27 October 2011 I want Sven gone but was reading your post and was sort of nodding in agreement at some well made points until "it is all about the Club now, and not loyalty to Sven" What the f*** are you on about, you are a Leicester City supporter I presume??? I meant that whereas I once had loyalty towards the manager - something that the fans need to have in good times, but especially through bad - I had lost my "rose tinted specks" attitude to a manager that I really wanted to succeed. As this has now gone, the Club, players (and to a lesser extent the owners) remain. And in a way, selfishness had become my main motivation for keeping Sven - not for loyalty to a manager but because I feared needless points would be lost by sacking him. I felt that I had to respond to your comment because they seemed a bit of an over reaction ("What the fvck are you on about") and some what obtuse ("you are a Leicester City supporter I presume?"). Do you think that I am on this site because I am ironically supporting Derby or Forest? Going back to my earlier point about loyalty... In recent years, City fans have become so fickle towards players and or members of the coaching staff - is is beyond you to presume that I had had loyalty to the manager? I even had loyalty to Holloway until it became clear that the battle was lost. So when I wrote that "it is all about the the Club", what you did not recognise in my words was something that is becoming a rare thing for our fans - loyalty to the manager/any manager who happens to be at the helm of the club we support. What the fvck

Adkins is working with a set of players he knows, and who respect him enough to produce consistent high-quality performances. He also has stability at St Mary's, and knows that even if he fails to take Southampton up this season, he'll get another chance to do so next season. We'd have more chance of luring Nigel Pearson back from Hull.
